Just realised that autocorrect had changed it to ‘character harm‘ - a future category?
A faint smear of rosy brightness hangs out in the west- a September haar, sea mist reflecting the sunrise.

@AmyG not sure if this is same one? I visited it in 2023....
In Biloxi MS in the late 1990s.
We visited Biloxi in 2018, so it‘s interesting to have some local context.

The age of humans will pass.
Started this one as an library audio loan, but finished as a library book loan. Fascinating learning about the duck women of Vega.

Popped over to beautiful Bruny Island for a couple of nights. Surprised to see so many tourists in the middle of winter.
They have 6 little libraries on the island, made by the Men's Shed. I've visited 5 and will swing by no.6 on the way to the ferry.

The marine layer was as thick as cotton and had formed a thousand-foot wall that shrouded the enter to the harbour.
I have jumped about 10 Connellys on my TBR but this is a new series, and a library express loan!

I enjoyed this read, including a glimpse of the irascible Vera's family history. Though I would have liked a map to track the action as Vera criss-crossed the countryside!
Frankly, Olive was a bit on the fence about this whole grad school thing.

The knife teetered atop the bag of chicken pellets, feathers dancing along the length of the blade like yellowing snowflakes.

Back in my home state, a fictional town called Beggar Rocks (which has a strong resemblance to Stanley including the home of Tassie's only Prime Minister and The Nut)
And it has a map!

I have to confess I'm not 100% sure where in the US Baltimore is, but I have been to Baltimore, Ireland - a beautiful coastal village.
Rotating about the earth in their spacecraft they are so together, and so alone, that even their thoughts, their internal mythologies, at times convene.

Geraldton - childhood home of Randolph Stow. I was surprised there was so little acknowledgement of his work. But we did find the modern day version of the merry-go-round in the sea.
