“Tell No One is an irresistibly suspenseful thriller infused with nail-biting tension and packed with shocking plot twists.”
This is a fast paced, well plotted, action packed suspense thriller that kept me hooked until the end. Written over 20 years ago, racial minorities were stereotyped in a way that I think I would have been pretty uncomfortable with even then. I also found that the writing style was not particularly original. And yet…
I must report that I did enjoy it. It was very exciting.
I am new to downloading audio books to my phone as I always thought it sounded like a headache, but now that I am on board am loving how you can listen while cooking, in this case vegan omelette and waffle with veg bacon. I am noticing a pattern to a lot of Coben's stories--woman does dumb illegal thing, doesn't tell her partner, and either disappears to later reappear and cause problems or stays but the secret later causes problems.
Harlan Coben does it again ❤️ I always feel like I should go back and read from the start after the endings been revealed. I bought about 10 of his books last week so I'm very excited 🥰
I like to read occasionally outside of my comfort zone (literary fiction and non-fiction) and someone picked this for book club. Not a fan. Maybe the protagonist rubbed me the wrong way, but to me, the treatment of inner-city black culture felt very white-guy, even for 2001. I think I‘ll stick with Jo Nesbo and Raymond Chandler for now.
4✨ Dr Beck is a pediatrician who lost his wife to a violent incident, but 8 years later he sees her? This leads him to be on the run from the person who “killed” her in the first place as well as the police looking for answers. I did read this last night so counting it for June. 😅
A riveting tale from start to finish. The “is she or isn‘t she alive” question kept me reading long past my bedtime. Some satisfying twists and a strong ending. Would we expect any less from Harlan Koben?!?!
Do you still have some standalone Cobens you haven‘t read? I‘m about to read them. Still have some left.
🎧 8 years ago Elizabeth was taken from Dr Beck. Her father identified the corpse. Beck was accused of murder but the serial killer Kilroy was caught & incarcerated.
Today, still mourning her loss, Beck receives a mysterious e-Mail with a link that leads him to a live street camera showing, HER! The e-Mail says, tell no one. So he doesn‘t.
It‘s a roller coaster ride at this point as people are now after him. What happened 8 years ago?

Some Saturday morning reading.
I‘m still reading this book I started weeks ago!!
Not that I‘m not enjoying it. I usually have Harlan Coben‘s books finished in no time, he‘s great!
I‘ve just been so busy 😕

Thanks for the tag @TheAromaofBooks ...is that orange enough for you??! 😳😱👀😂 I had forgotten that I even had this book...thanks for the reminder (I haven‘t read it yet! 😊)
#Ispy with my little eye a book that is Orange.
@eanderson @Sills @Texreader Can you find one that is GREEN? 😊💚
SO GOOD! I didn‘t want to put it down. This is my first Harlan Coben novel but it won‘t be my last. Such a great thriller.
It may be almost 2:30am, but I‘m not quite sleepy yet. Picked out a new book. I have a HUGE tbr pile. I think it will shrink drastically while I‘m not working. The one good thing to come out of my temporary layoff. Oh and I can‘t find my bookmark so I‘m using a color street nail file. Making other uses for them since I have so many laying around.
Book 6 of layoff.
I am enjoying the book so far. Seems twisty and lots of pivots. I have guessed some of the next steps before they occur but not many.
This was my first Harlan Coben and I liked it a lot! I would definitely read more of his thrillers. My dad loves this author, and I borrowed the book from him when I ran out of my books on the last day of vacation. The only thing that was a weak point wasn‘t Coben‘s fault: the plot revolves a lot around cutting edge technology, but based on when the book was written it really dates itself. Other than that, clever twists and solid writing!
So I was at the library yesterday and I found this book by Harlan Coben that seemed really interesting. I wanted to buy it but spent my cash at the farmer's market.
Turns out...I found this today. I already own the book 😂
How crazy is that!
Anyway, this one is going on the to read list!

Another pick from my “Book Bucket List” poster! This is a great mystery read about a man who suddenly receives a message from his wife, who has been dead for 8 years. I couldn‘t put it down, and I was always rooting for the main character, Dr. Beck. The only critique I have is that Elizabeth, his wife, seemed extremely selfless and good- I was expecting a dark side to her. At the same time, it made me eager for their reunion even more. Great read!

(Day 9 - #YouNeverCanTell)
*Okay, right off the bat? I remembered this book (tagged) by Harlan Coben, but I must have given it to someone. Rather than break any copyright laws, I found this poster (free to use) about the movie made in France. I can highly recommend both: The book is one of Coben‘s best, and the movie? Fantastic!!
somehow I missed it#croatianedition#harlancoben📚📚#tellnoone🤫#weekend#Sunday#goodbook#bookcover#booklove#bookbestfriend🧞♀️
Picked up in a charity shop for 50p, read it in 1 night
Day 6 - Suspense: First paragraph read in the bookstore. Second paragraph read in the driveway. Third paragraph and rest of book read at the kitchen table with my coat and my shoes still on. That‘s how fast-paced, attention-grabbing and suspenseful this book was.
Recommended. #ReadingResolutions
I have liked Steven Weber as an actor since Wings. He is a good narrator too.

Thriller ❤
This is my FAVORITE book of all time! It has suspense, love/romance, and a bunch of clever jokes and beautiful moments throughout! It‘s a definite suggestion of mine to every reader on the planet that has yet to experience its greatness!!
I stayed up late to finish this one. All the twists and turns really had me. The story starts with the possible return of a woman long presumed dead, and unfolds into a coverup with layers on layers. I enjoyed it a lot. I don‘t read much Harlan Coben, but I may read more now.
Another summer reader. A pager turner. I read it in one day. "Set to be one of the big thriller reads of the summer.... Fifteen pages into this book, you're sucked in and Coben never lets the pace stall.... If it takes more than two days to finish this one, you're working too many hours. A hot summer rush."

On the plus side - completely gripping, which, after all, is what we expect of a thriller. Reservations - well, total hokum frankly. Everything resolved in the last few pages with precious little concession to psychological realism or depth. But hey, a good fun read.
One of my book club members chose this for this month's read because it is her favorite Coben book. A young widowed guy receives some mysterious communication leading him to think that his wife might still be alive, even though she was murdered 8 years earlier. It was a decent read, albeit a bit dated, and the ending was a tad farfetched. But it kept me interested.
Holiday at Tenerife, what a beautiful island❤️
This one was fantastic! I got the rec from a librarian-led book talk. A husband received an email revealing details about an event only his wife would know; however, she has been dead for eight years. Great plot twists!
