Weekends Required: A Danvers Novel | Sydney Landon
52 posts | 4 read | 2 to read
Claire Walters has worked for Jason Danvers as his assistant for three years, but hes never appreciated her as a womanuntil the day she jumps out of a cake at his friends bachelor party. To support her ailing mother, Claire is forced to work a second job at a party-planning company. But when her handsome boss ends up with a front-row seat to the action, shes mortifiedand hes intrigued. With Danvers International in the middle of an important merger, Jason asks Claire to accompany him on weekend business tripsand suddenly all her fantasies are coming true. Her outspoken best friend thinks that getting a little executive attention will solve everything. But Claire sees more in Jason than just sex. Jason is determined to know how the beautiful, sexy woman in the cake could also be his mousy assistant. The more time they spend together, the more he realizes how much fun it can be to mix business with pleasure. And how much he wants to offer her a happily ever after of her own.

Since I'm not working, I have more time to read (at least in theory). I hope to finish The Sheriff of Yrnameer and Swamp Thing Vol. 1 this weekend. I need to get started on The Man Who Fell to Earth for #LitsySciFiBookClub.

Well, just decided to DNF Mirrorland, at least for now. Can't get into the writing style. After two weeks now I am still just 60 pages in. But I tried, right? This one is also my #Doublespin of February @TheAromaofBooks

The middle one is Beneath the Moon, a beautifully illustrated fairy tale/myth collection.

The Perfect Friend is a #Netgalley ARC and my #TwinPeaksReadingChallenge #TPRC choice for The Double R.

A mix of historical mystery, a bit of paranormal, and the last part of some densely philosophical science fiction. I should have had The Dispossessed finished by now, but the audiobook about Rudolf Diesel has been really good and hard to set aside.

These are the books currently in progress heading into the weekend, but let‘s be honest. I‘m probably only going to touch the three on the bottom. Maybe I‘ll pick up the audio of Little Drummer Girl to try to make headway there, but I haven‘t decided. #weekendreading

Streamlined my TBR for this weekend in hopes of helping me focus better. As always though, there‘s always room for #ImpulseReads if my brain needs a break🤓😉

Happy reading weekend everyone (yes, yes, I know😁I‘m starting early but I didn‘t figure anyone would mind😂🤷🏻‍♀️🤓). Cheers🥂to @Andrew65 for this wonderful weekend event!♥️♥️

TGIF it‘s finally Friday. I‘m looking forward to lots of reading & less negativity from those outside my household.

This is my weekend TBR stack. I‘ve just recently started ‘Open‘, barely started ‘Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee‘ & both ‘Baby Teeth‘ (#BookSpin) & ‘Baby, Come Home‘ are fresh & ready to be “cracked open” (not literally😳 so we‘re clear😉)

Andrew65 Some good reading ahead. Enjoy. 🥰 2y
DieAReader @Andrew65 🥰Looking forward to it, thank you💕 2y

Tomorrow hubby is off work, so we‘re going to the zoo in Tyler. Excited for family time - but no reading time tomorrow.
I got an unexpected gig for this weekend. It‘s nice to work, though it‘s because the usual timpanist was very sick over the holidays and isn‘t fully recovered. But rehearsal Saturday and 2 services Sunday = little reading time (except between services).
So #JoyousJanuary will be a slow start for me.

1️⃣ I think it‘d still be the Sweet Valley High series at over 60 novels, thereabouts.
2️⃣ none that I can remember - I am a completist.
3️⃣ Shelve and recommend or buy another copy to give to someone since my books are mostly for-room-use only
4️⃣ Yup! Two offline (IRL) ones and 4 online.

Cathythoughts You are in 2 bookclubs ! I would actually love that, but they are hard enough to find & then get into. I believe there is a real old one in Cork , but you have to put your name on a waiting list - 😬🙄. The one I‘m in is local & it‘s great. 6y

GatheringBooks @Cathythoughts there used to be four, actually. first one is with local authors here in singapore, second one is with young adults - both are still pretty active. previously i had a book club with fellow academics in my institution (a few have left), and another one that i facilitated with young readers at my library (but no more participants, sadly). 6y
