Just started reading this book. Wonderful descriptions of characters and their thoughts.

So... The apartment upstairs sprung a leak and it seeped through my ceiling (Books are safe!) Today has been a madhouse with my landlord, a plumber and a TV technician (unrelated to the leak 😆) coming in, as well as my parents, stressed dog, brother, niece and nephew.
I don‘t think I‘ll make it to the post office today for #WhatTheCanuck or #LitsyAroundtheWorld — I think the next time I can will be Wednesday or Thursday.
So we all got to school today and discovered that there was 3-4inches of water in 60% of our school... my room is fine but it is going to be a lot of work to clean it up!!!
@umbrellagirl posted this lovely blurb about #jolabokaflod.
I think we Littens should start a grassroots campaign to promote this idea. Only instead of doing it around the holidays when most everyone is crazed, perhaps we can select another day. Groundhog Day (Feb 2) might be a good choice. It's still mostly cold and miserable in the northern hemisphere, and if the groundhog sees his shadow, it's off to bed with a book for everyone!
Well the reading room is completely gutted right now but I only lost about 10 books to the waters and the snoodle reading chair is safe. It's not pretty but we are recovering.
Just to update everyone, we lost our house to the flooding Sunday. We received word that the National Guard was a mile away but unable to get our homes. We took refuge in our neighbor's second story home and at daybreak we inflated our air mattresses, loaded our cats and our few possessions onto them, and walked through chest high water to escape. We are going to be fine. We have flood insurance and savings. Pray for the ones who aren't so lucky.
Well it's been interesting here in Houston. After yesterday's tornado warning-filled day resulting in our bookstore having to shelter people as one passed nearby, we closed early. Then this morning, I woke up to this. We are stuck here and maybe my TBR will dwindle a bit. Please send good thoughts to this area. Many people lost everything today.

I am getting loads of reading done while cut off by flood waters. We are safe and dry but this photo was taken just before the road was cut off.
Spotted a first edition of Warren's at an antique store in Colorado. Didn't take it home, but I hope it finds a good one. I adore Warren.
