This was a fun Jane Austen-inspired story about Isabel and Mary, who go on a 2-week vacation to stay at a manor house in England where the guests dress in costume and assume the roles of characters from Austen's novels.

Quick palette cleanser before my next library hold comes through. Yesterday‘s weather healed my soul. #currentlyreading
Lovely narration and an easy listen. My first Reay.
This is like a love letter to Austen. Cute, fun, easy read

Straight from work to golf practice. I am really unhappy about not having time to change out of my skirt and work shoes, but at least I remembered my book!
Character development left questions, made me miss England
Fun, easy read. I chose to read this now because I just finished reading seven Austen novels over the last seven months with the #ArdentlyAustenBookClub
This book was fluffy and comforting in some of the themes and characters, following along two best friends who have grown apart but decided to go together to a costumed Jane Austen vacation spot. Mishap occurs and untruths are uncovered. I felt that the characters were a little shallow and the love interest was missing some spark, but overall it was an ok read. I recommend if you love all things Austen or Recency era!
Sitting by the tree after a satisfying day at work, waiting for my cookies to cool, and reading some escapist fiction. These moments don‘t come often enough.
Here's my "balanced" TBR for December - the dreariness of Angela's Ashes followed by four lighter reads! #seasonsreadings

I had four credit on Hoopla that I had to use before the end of the month. I chose four books that are in my physical shelf so I can read the book, and listen to the audiobook at the same time. Here‘s what I chose. Book 2/4 ☺️
Have any of you guys read this one? What did you think? I loved Dear Mr Knightly by this author.
Those dang B&N coupons get the best of me and I had a gift card burning a hole in my wallet. I managed 2 weeks without buying a book and made up for it with buying these 2! 😂 Adding more to my #mounttbrchallenge I‘ve come to accept that this is my life now... I may never reach the top! 🤣
#ReadingResolutions #green I kept this stack limited to paperback fiction titles with (mostly) green covers and/or spines. If I added non-fiction, especially foodie non-fiction & cookbooks, I could add a LOT more. And does teal count as blue, or green, or blue-green? Who knows or cares really--I just like a variety of green shades.💚Maybe I'll add the teal-ish ones to tomorrow's blue stack. I'm just a rebel that way! 😆📚
Maybe I‘m the only one, but when I‘m shopping for books, especially at the thrift store, I don‘t read the back descriptions. I‘m a total “Judge a Book by its cover/spine/title”. Scoop them all up, buy them and bring them home. Then my FAVOURITE part about buying a stack of books is afterwards. When I‘m home, with my coffee, and my fireplace and my stack of books. I‘ll sit there and read all the descriptions and get giddy with excitement! ♥️
I've read this book for one of my book clubs, and it was a great discovery. At the beginning, I was scared that my lack of knowledge about Austen's books would be an hindrance, but at my surprise it wasn't. I really enjoyed how the author integrated Austen's characters to her story. Overall, it was a great feel-good book.
This was my first book by Katherine Reay. I enjoyed the characters and their choices as to the Austen Character they would be for their adventure and as they explored their character they began to understand stand themselves a little better. I look forward to reading more by this author.
It is amazing to me that Jane Austen has a character for each stage of our life! It is true, Mrs. Jennings,”She enjoys life and has fun.”
My reading view the last three days. I will miss this tomorrow as I head home. #obxchristmas
Happy Jolabokaflod! This is what I am reading until later today. What are you reading today?
Sweet, quick read, loved feeling transported to Austen‘s time/space. Reminded me a bit of the movie Lost in Austen.
Starting this one while waiting to meet my friend to go see Lady Gaga!! Definitely worth skipping a night of reading! 😄
It's been a 👍🏻👍🏻 kind of reading month. I finished 47 books (thanks to a handful of shorter books and Christmas novellas), and I enjoyed most of them. #FallFavorites
14 physical books
29 audiobooks
4 ebooks
17 Christmas books

If you are a Jane Austen fan you will likely enjoy this fun, chick-lit read about Mary, a practical engineer convinced to go on a Jane Austen-themed (dressing up & pretending to be characters from the books) vacation in Bath by her friend Isabel. A light & entertaining escape. My full review & recipe for 'Black Butter' (basically Blackberry-Apple Preserves) adapted from The Jane Austen Cookbook is on the blog for book tour review--link below.📚👍
Not in the mood for a hot beverage tonight so no Tim Tam Slam-but I did sneak a couple of caramel ones. I read an #ARC e-book of this book a few months ago but I hadn't signed up for the book tour & didn't make notes on the food. Doing a quick skim/reread for inspiration for a recipe to pair it with. I have a feeling my Jane Austen cookbook may come into play. It's 10:30 PM & calling it a night soon.😴More #litsypartyofone happenings tomorrow.👍
I enjoyed this. While it had some far-fetched elements, it was a neat intertwining of Austen classics with a modern sensibility. The story was very diverse in its plot line....was it a romance, was it a story of female friendship, was it a self-discovery odyssey....I would say a little bit of all three with some whimsy for good measure. And yes, at times, it may have tipped over into convoluted, but I could forgive that. Thanks to #NetGalley! 4/5
The week's #bookmail. All #ARCs for blog book tour reviews in Nov/Dec. They all have a bit of history and/or back and forth in time periods and perspectives to them so I guess I must have been gravitating towards a theme when I was signing up for the tours. Actually I already finished the tagged book a couple of months ago as an e-book ARC but I had them send me a print copy for prettier pics with my recipe pairing. I'm all about the pretty!😆📚🌺
Up next, another ARC, and I‘ve got to get busy with it as it‘s out very soon. I‘m 19% in and liking it so far! #romantsy
Just got approved for this book - I have to jump right into it, the release date is in early November. 😁

Happy Aloha Friday.🌴🌺Greeting the day with coffee shop breakfast of an Acai bowl and a French press of local coffee, along with a few pages of this #ARC before getting started on a work project. Hoping to make an early day of it and start the weekend. Hope your Friday is going well and full of good books and good food. 📚🍴👍😀
4th hotel in 2 weeks means I'm churning through my ARCs and review backlog. This book is turning out to be more engrossing than I gave it initial credit for.
You know a soup was good when you are sad to eat the last bowl of it. 😢🍲This brothy Green Curry Zucchini & Noodle Soup was what I needed after teaching a good but exhausting workshop today. Hopefully it & escaping with The Austen Escape (NetGalkey#arc) will recharge my introvert soul tonight. Need to catch up on what I've missed on Litsy--about the only thing I've done today was follow back & welcome all the new Littens on my feed--how fun! 🎉
Oh Littens, I've missed you today! Backed way up on a project, even more so after a long conference call where I had to set clearer expectations on content turn-around time for client changes once things have been signed off on.😬I'll be working late tonight😩& catching up tomorrow. Breakfast--avocado toast, cold brew & 10 min of starting this #ARC was the best part of my day-even if a newbie made the toast & it wasn't the best I've had.#humpday🐫
