First time ever getting an audiobook. Great for those days when I don‘t want to think.

Day 3 and day 4 of #adventrecommends is Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom.
I‘m late to the party, and only actually read this because a reviewer I follow and trust who was also late to the party was raving about it.
I love both. Wasn‘t expecting to like Kaz/Inej because I hate the ‘brooding asshole MC and his emotional support girlfriend‘ trope, but it turned out that they‘re not that and I‘m total Kanej trash. Bless their murderous cottons.
I instantly thought of Kaz from this duology for the naughty or nice prompt today. I loved his character, but he walked that line between good and bad very well.

“many boys will bring you flowers. but someday you'll meet a boy who will learn your favorite flower, your favorite song, your favorite sweet. and even if he is too poor to give you any of them, it won't matter because he will have taken the time to know you as no one else does. only that boy earns your heart.“
I wasn't able to read as much as I wanted to this weekend, but I did get a bunch of audio working done. Six of Crows is fantastic on audio. Subterranean and The Stand are both off to a great start. One of these weekends I'll finally hit 24 hours. #24B4Monday

Taking sto of my TBR pile to the end of the year.
These are all books l've started this year and still have to finish. I should really to to finish at least half of them.
I'm halfway through Six of Crows. Nice reading, thought l'm not as enthusiastic about it as many readers are.
Need to finish Hazel and Holly, which is a friend's book.
The Impartial withness is an audiobook, so it should been easy to complete.
One kid done, one to go. 😸😸😸
The kiddo loved the story and told me to go read Crooked Kingdom tonight so we can start the German edition tomorrow.
Been feeling bad about listening to the non-theme audiobook tagged until I realised there‘s a number in the title 😅

Read all these last week. I liked the first trilogy but I loved Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom
When you have tickets to a Leigh Bardugo book signing so you just have to buy the collector's editions!!!!

So wanted to love this one and get hooked on a new fantasy series. But it was just so-so for me.
Still as riveting as the first time I read it! What I love most about this book is that Bardugo takes larger-than-life characters & makes them intimately human. They perform impossible feats while making you feel like they‘d easily hang out in your living room, too. Mix that with a fantastic heist plot, and this story remains impossible to put down! Now on to book two 😊. ★★★★☆.
I‘m trying to catch up on my reviews and my brain is completely muddled with too many books. I loved this one with all the action and the characters were amazing. Kaz... love to hate the guy. This was my first Bardugo book and it won‘t be my last. Looking forward to the next one. 4🌟🌟🌟🌟
Reading whilst keeping one eye on the view from my window... #uhhh
It took me forever to get into this one, but I really liked it in the end. The theft caper didn‘t hold my attention as well as the characters‘ back stories. I loved learning about the tricky band of misfits: Inej, Kaz, Nina, Matias, Jesper, and Wylan. Each has a unique story and reason they‘re broken. Kaz has a particularly heartbreaking tale and grief for his brother is woven into his strength and hard exterior. Looking forward to the next one.
"He needed to tell her... what? That she was lovely and brave and better than anything he deserved. That he was twisted, crooked, wrong, but not so broken that he couldn't pull himself together into some semblance of a man for her. That without meaning to he'd begun to lean on her, to look for her, to need her near." ~Kaz Brekker
Addi has been loving this book. 'Staying up late, forgetting to do chores because she is reading' love.
I, on the other hand, am in such a slump. But seeing her excitment and discussing this book, that I also loved, has been helping.
Look what I got my pretty little hands on!!! I am so excited to own this version. It‘s gorgeous! And the art that is included in the book, is to die for! Matthias and Nina look amazing (So does everyone else but we all know where my heart lies)
Trying my luck with a DSLR for picture taking, litsy isn‘t hip enough yet to allow wider images like Instagram. I‘ll post the fuller image on my Insta, if anyone wants to follow let me know!

How did you choose this book: It was recommended to me by a librarian.
Write a brief summary of the novel; who was the protagonist; what was his/her problem and how was the problem resolved?
I enjoyed this so much more than the grisha trilogy. It had complex three dimensional characters that I cared about and an action packed plot that kept me guessing. The ending was satisfying and sweet without being too neat. Pick for sure
#7covers7days #covercrush this is an amazing read. If you haven‘t yet pick this up and enjoy it!

I needed to share this with a group of people whom I know will understand! I love Six of Crows and Matthias is my baby (along with Nina) so if you have read this Duology you know how perfect this meme is for this book. I love it so much. 🤣
#97 of my year. Finally going to read this duology. Super excited. I really enjoyed The Shadow and Bone series so it‘s definitely time to devour this one 💜
#audioknitting, need something easy to do, so I'm making an infinity scarf. Also, re-reading the tagged book, can't concentrate on something new right now.
A fantasy novel with a heist? Yes, please. Maybe a little bit of a Firefly vibe? It's hard to believe the characters are really teenagers but they're so great. Also, this is my 69th book this year!
My bookish scented candles arrived 😍 'Tardis' is blueberry, lemon & lime, 'No mourners, no funerals' is black tea & Turkish hazel, and the 'currently reading' is cinnamon roll 🤤

Finished the book and the watermelon.
A heist story reminiscent of the movie Inception set in a steam-punky, vaguely European world, this novel lived up to the hype. Took me a while to get into it and Brekker's backstory falls a little flat for me, but Bardugo makes up for that with characters that are rich, flawed, dynamic, maddening, and all-around real.
"For them, 'home' really just meant family."
I've moved twenty-odd times in 42 years, and every member of our little family---including our cat---was born in a different state. People ask, "Where are you from? Where's home?" This quote sums up our answer (albeit an unsatisfying answer in a small-talk context).
Getting in some reading while waiting for the tow truck. Some people use a Magic 8-Ball to predict the future, but I use a blown head gasket, which says I'll likely be car shopping this weekend.
