pickReally enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. It‘s very fast patience, things happen before you can even realize it. I liked every character. My biggest problem with this book was that the characters contradict each other constantly and at times I can be very annoying. Besides that, a very solid read.
Ch. 5: written in the 1st person. A bit confusing, initially, since there are 2 protagonists and therefore 2 POVs in the 1st person.

After being exiled for 3 years Kestra Dallsor is finally coming home. Kestra's father is the right hand man to the evil king, Lord Edrick. When a group of rebels intercept Kestra's carriage ride home she is kidnapped. Truths and Lies start to come out who should Kestra trust.
Reading this book now, it was recommended by a friend. I didn‘t know if I was going to like it because I‘m not much of a fantasy person, but I absolutely love this book! The characters are loveable and it is narrated by the two main characters which I personally love. I would definitely reading this book if you like fantasy and action with romance on the side.
bailedCouldn‘t bring myself to finish this one...too much arguing, not a single character was likable. There are many books I‘d rather read.

pickThis book just reminded me how much I like Jennifer A. Nielsen as an author. I enjoyed "The Traitor's Game" and am excited for the next one as we continue to follow our protagonists into their prophesied roles to bring peace back to the Kingdom.
I‘m not feeling this one like the False Prince and that‘s bumming me out.

pickThis book was pretty good. I had no idea what it was really about before I started reading it. I got 100 pages in and kind of thought about bailing, but just took a couple of days off and once I started reading it again, I couldn‘t put it down!
It‘s definitely set up to have more and I will plan to read them! (Though I‘m really bad at continuing series!)

Why wouldn‘t you put it at the end of a chapter or at the top of the chapter in empty space.... common sense. Luckily they didn‘t press to hard to block the words!

Reading a book that is well explained but still keeps the feeling of exhilaration and anticipation is truly a memorable experience. To me that is what this book has been, a memorable experience. pickI actually didn‘t put this book down from the moment I started it until it was done. The romance was so cute and sweet and I needed more!
I know i had issues with one or two extremely minor things, but overall this was so much fun. Kestra was so headstrong and defiant and wonderful. and Simon?? 😍 He‘s so adorable I couldn‘t handle it.
It kept me guessing until the last page. I still don‘t know how to respond to all of what i just read.

This is such a been there done that cover. It's reminiscent of the BN edition of the Cruel Prince. Plus the sword/ dagger has been seen a lot most recently the now I rise series. Yep. No imagination.
