D forgot to give me the mail when we got back from Tulsa yesterday. My purchases from the Folio Society sale finally got here! Happy #bookhaul 📚😊❤️
It pains me, but I‘m putting this down for now. The writing is lovely, but somehow, I‘m just not that interested. I have to “force” myself to pick it up, and I‘m struggling with staying focused on the text. So I think it is time to realize this just isn‘t working for me at the moment 🤷♀️

‘I tell you Jonathan,‘ said Rasmus, ‘that your melancholy is the highest fashion of the day. The elegant young men of Copenhagen wear black and speak with bitterness of the world, and the ladies talk of the grave.‘
My tbr is full of books with #sobeautiful covers at the moment, and now the only problem is to choose which to pick up next! 📖
This song is beyond cheesy and sugar sweet, but I have so many memories of young love and crushes connected to it, that I can‘t help but love it 😄 https://youtu.be/8ChU_YVWne0

I have been struggling to get through these for a month. Some of the writing is brilliant but she can‘t seem to stick with one story but veers off into another story, then another, and another, until I forget who the story is supposed to be about in the first place. I have limited patience with interpolated tales (especially in short fiction) and these are chains of tales. She has story attention deficit AND they aren‘t Gothic at all!
Three more library holds for my #FreakyFriday list came in! I'm really enjoying reading from @ferskner 's list. I'll be continuing this well in to May. This horribly busy time of year really steals away most of my reading time, so I'll get to these as I can. They all looked really interesting to me.

"...while the book of the Father is given in the Old Testament, and that of the Son, in the New, the testament of the Third Person of the Trinity still remained to be written."--The Deluge at Norderney
My #readinschool books come from my Masterpieces of Scandinavian Literature class in college. I'd been deeply in love with Denmark since I lived there in high school, but that semester taught me that I could STUDY it. Changed my life. #photoadaynov16 @RealLifeReading
A rainy day is perfect for one of my all-time favourites. Dinesen's stories are so perfectly poetic and intriguing, and every page has a sentence that makes me gasp. My favourites in this volume are The Dreamers and Deluge at Norderney 👌🏼
