And finally my winter plans for #Booked2023 minus one again. Looking forward to the books I will read thanks to the challenge! They‘ll probably be completely different!

Completed winter for #booked2020 in the nick of time. Thoughts on Interior Chinatown coming tomorrow. I loved Dutch House and Island of Sea Women. Also really liked Bookwoman of Troublesome Creek which was my second read for #subjectididntknowabout

I managed to finish 4 of the 6 prompts for winter - not bad considered I read practically nothing this month.
1. Head/hat covering - A Hundred Suns
2. #Live and Learn - Don‘t Skip out on me (I leaned about amateur boxing!)
3. #covercrush - the Golden Hour
4. Finish in a day - Things My Son Needs to Know About the World

1️⃣ I like a variety of genres regardless of season but I do toss in some comfort reads-classics, cozy mysteries & holiday rom-coms.📚
2️⃣ We don‘t have much seasonal variation here so I eat soup all year-round. In cooler weather I do drink more tea & cocoa & crave more comfort food.🍵
3️⃣ It‘s “chilly” this week by Hawaii standards: High: 73 F Low 66 F & blustery with 25 mph winds🧊
4️⃣ Tagging anyone who wants to play! 🤗
Hello friends 👋 It‘s been a little while and I‘ve so missed hearing about all the books you‘re reading.
I‘ve just finished #winter for #Booked2020. Lots of good reads, but by far and away the best was The Most Fun we Ever Had. I loved it so much...all the 💕 and all the ⭐️
• Y'all...I keep finding #challenges I want to participate in for the New Year. I can't seem to help myself 😬🤭 Missed a few weeks with this one but gonna try to catch up 🤞•

@StayCurious @Clwojick @LibrarianRyan
@Clwojick @StayCurious #MerryReaders #WinterGames 1. Books Read: I have not been keeping track! Perhaps 30-ish! 2. I‘ve actually never set a yearly reading goal 😳 3. First TBR on my list is Ninth House! 4. Fav thing about winter? Fantasy Football playoffs or snowboarding maybe? Honestly I‘m a summer bae all day—winter is much too cold!
I received my package for the #WinterExchange from @bookish_wookish - yay! And yours is underneath and is going in the mail tomorrow.

#7days7covers #covercrush #day3 This one was pretty much a cover buy, plus the fact it‘s set in Tasmania which is a part of Australia I‘m most wanting to visit. This cover is just gorgeous, another one with an amazing picture of the gloaming. I‘m a sucker for sunset/moonrise pictures🌖Oh, try turning this picture upside down, gives you a different perspective👁👁
#AyUpAugust #Day15 #Missing Another Australian novel set in the wilds of Tasmania(I‘m kinda obsessed with the island state!)Jessica‘s partner Mathew disappears on his way home one night, leaving behind his car on the side of the highway & his phone with a fuzzy video of some kind of animal taken at the time he goes missing. Then she gets a visit from a group of women talking about missing partners & Tasmanian Tigers. Strange days indeed.
Another strangely beautiful Aussie story, this one set in the winter cold of southern Tasmania. Jessica works at a cave system in the national park, living in a cabin on the water with her abusive boyfriend Mathew. Until one night when he doesn‘t come home & the police find his car on the side of the highway empty. Are the women right, was he taken by something evil? #LLB19 #BookWithAPrettyCover #Pop19 #AuthorsFirstAndLastNameSameLetter
#BookMail Pt7 This is another Aussie author & based story, I ordered a few for #AussieApril but since the backup at Booktopia it‘ll have to be #AussieMay instead! This is set in the Tasmanian wilderness, in a small town on the edge of the forest, Jessica‘s partner disappears. A stranger in the community, she‘s suspicious of a circle of women who‘ve also lost their partners but with strange theories of why. Who was Matthew? And what has he become?
The atmosphere is as much a part of the story as the characters and with the setting in the woods of #tasmania there was plenty to use. This, the trauma of grief & domestic violence combine to create a #chilling #spooky and #confronting tale from the perspective of a woman who has come close to losing herself. Gritty realism combined with #paranormal to make a compelling tale that is uniquely #Australian and yet will speak to common experiences.
