pickThis one was crafty. I thought I knew what I was in for, then it took a turn that had me worried I was mistaken, then *pow* it was back on track, hunting the characters down through the pages and delivering exactly what I wanted!

Bought this book because of its cover. I do that a lot. And most of the time I pick real good stuff. Just like this book. Be prepared for a ride. I couldn‘t put it down. I recommend this book and give it 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
so-soNot my favorite so far but an interesting concept. Hikers are going missing in a forest and evidence has come up indicating a monster is at work but what kind of monster? Interesting characters and a storyline you can totally get behind if you've ever been hiking or camping in dense brush. #quarantinereads

The chapters are mercifully short and could function like a whole 35-minute episode. I also liked the ending and was blind-sided by it. pickA group of friends go looking for a family member who went missing whilst hiking alone in the forest. I wasn‘t sure about this one at first but it improved as it went on. Moving between viewpoints kept things fresh & the feeling of being hemmed in by the forest was conveyed well. 4🌟
pick@danibolahood Thanks for the #screamsbymail pick because this was great. 22 yo Eileen gets lost in a forest and then starts to realize something may be following her. After missing for a couple of days her brother and some of his friends go looking for her. With the way the chapters are set up it became extremely addictive and fast paced. It was a definitely never going into the forest alone, Pick!!
Pareidolia is a psychological phenomenon involving a stimulus, image, or sound where the mind perceives a familiar pattern where none exist. The lady in the tree, the Yoda Pig, the angry slippers, and of course the Jesus in the toast. I had no idea there was a word for this until I read this book. How fascinating.
Finally! #ScreamsByMail books have reached me here in Al Ain. I had to go to the post office to claim it, paid around 10 usd, and the parcel had to go through customs inspection - opened before me before handed over. This is the second time this has happened to me. Interesting how the BookDepository book I ordered was delivered directly to my door without any hitch nor any additional fees. Hmm. Anyways, bookses are here! Time to read!

so-soRainy afternoon means staying in and (finally) finishing this for #ScreamsByMail. I didn't find it as climactic as I was expecting but that's probably due to the fact that I haven't been able to keep up a steady reading pace these days. This would've been a more intense read had I finished it in a couple or three of sittings (preferably at night). Take note, @scripturient 😘 I'll send this out to you this week.

pickAlthough a little slow in the beginning, this one kept me up reading WAY past my “bedtime”!! Such an amazing thriller of getting lost in the woods with something chasing you. Very haunting in its believability of how easy it is to get lost when you are feet from a known trail. I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves those things that go bump in the night.
pickI have read a few books by this author and she is quickly becoming one of my faves. This one is a bit different-the others I have read by her all center around a haunting of some sort. This is a lost in the woods horror story on every level. Just layers and layers of wtf just happened and oh no! It is an easy read you don‘t want to put down. And the ending is a nice twist. Highly recommend if horror is your thing.

It is a chilly morning here so I am curled up under the weighted blanket reading another Darcy Coates book with four pups. Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday.
It is a cold rainy weekend here in the Southern Tier of NYS. So I plan on reading, crafting, watching bad horror movies, and lots of hot cider (maybe spiked 😉). Also shopping I guess, since I can't resist a #KindleDailyDeal.
I know there are some Darcy Coates fans out there. One of her newest is .99 right now, so I snatched it up.
