@Kappadeemom @Endowarrior21 @JanJan I am having trouble choosing which book to read to send off to y'all for #LMPBC round 3! Which would you most like to read: The Iron Cast by Destiny Soria, Perfect Little World by Kevin Wilson, A Million Junes by Emily Henry, World of Ink and Shadow by Lena Coakley, or Mister Memory by Marcus Sedgwick? I think I am leaning toward the tagged book, but I can be swayed if anyone has a preference for sure!
Congratulations @ErinSueG on your Litsy milestone!!!
This is one of the coolest book covers I have. I hope the book is as good as the book cover!!

In this unusual police procedural set in 19th century Paris, Marcel Despres, a cabaret performer known as Mister Memory, is confined to an asylum after murdering his wife. The detective on the case and the doctor in charge of Marcel's care each make discoveries that change their understanding of Marcel and the crime. This twisting tale explores corruption and sordid secrets, yet is most urgently concerned with how our memories create our identity.

I really want to read this one!!! Has anyone read it?
And the cover is gorgeous!!!! 💚❤️💗
[March05] This book is a combination of crime + mystery + psychological thriller and I really enjoyed it. Marcel Després or Marcel Mémoire (Mister Memory) do not forget & has the perfect memory. But he is unable to filter what is important or relevant & when he was arrested and transfered to Salpêtrière asylum for the murder of his wife, his eidetic memory was not helpful.

A heartpounding mystery/psychological thriller about Marcel Després (Mister Memory) who never forgets. He has the perfect memory. But it is rendered hopeless by his inability to filter what is important/relevant especially when he was arrested & transfered to Salpêtrière asylum for the murder of his wife. A must read!

When we stop loving, it becomes impossible to go on. Whatever the object of our love was, a person, an idea, a career, when the love vanishes, so does the desire to continue. To do so from that point is to move like a mindless machine, because it is what we are made to do, not because it is what we want to be.

"There is both good and bad, and the chances of survival of our hero often depend upon how well he, or she, sees which is which, for what can seem beautiful can hide the greatest evil."
So far, not 100% feeling this, but I'll give it three chapters..
Can I just say how gorgeous this cover is?? Can I also say I judged it by that?? 😅😅 Hopefully I like it, but I'm getting mixed reviews. Why does that author name sounds familiar to me though?
In fin de siecle Paris, Marcel Després finds meaning in his unusually perfect memory. He becomes an act in a cabaret, displaying his strange skill for the elite who dare to carouse in Montmartre by night.

First person to review on good reads! This has never happened before no matter how new the proof! Well, what an amazing read - had me with my nose in it my entire commute - didn't even put it down for platform changes.
