I read this for the #2020ReadHarderChallenge (prompt: read a mystery where the victim isn‘t a woman). So much fun! I‘m tearing through this entire series and it‘s a lovely palate cleanser. The queer romance was an unexpected delight too. Love it!

Super cute, super fast read about Goldie Vance, girl detective. The retro style gives off big Nancy Drew energy, but Goldie and her friends are super modern. A fun mystery adventure series that I‘ll definitely have to continue reading!

16 year old Goldie Vance is curious and loves solving mysteries in the Florida hotel she works at and her dad manages.

This was such a cute start to the series. I loved Nancy Drew so when is we this was compared to that I had to get it.

Loved this comic book collection - Goldie is a fantastic character but so is everyone else. I really like the retro setting and the art style. It‘s everything I loved about Nancy Drew but written with a modern sensibility - totally recommenced.

I found this while browsing my library‘s ebook offerings last night. I devoured it in one sitting! Goldie works as a parking valet at the hotel her father manages and also helps the inhouse detective when a priceless necklace goes missing. A fun read similar to Nancy Drew with lots of action.

Mild pick. Cute art, and an interesting protagonist. It is compared to Lumberjanes a lot, although I think Lumberjanes is better developed, both in characters and plot. Younger fans of that series will like this one, I think.

This was a super cute wholesome mystery. Goldie is similar to Nancy Drew but more willing to take risks to solve the case. I can't wait to read more!

And a really cute comic. 16-year old Goldie valets at her Dad‘s hotel, but ‘helps out‘ the on-site detective when she can. A fun read, diverse characters, bonus points for having a mum who works as a mermaid 🧜‍♀️.

I haven‘t read a graphic novel in a while and this was the perfect one to pick up. Goldie is smart and spunky and willing to break a few rules. Fun, quick read.

Good start to the series.

Loooove this. Nancy Drew meets Eloise meets Grease meets Lumberjanes. This is so cute and the mystery genuinely had my interest, curiosity, and full attention. Appropriate for all ages. Definitely recommended!!

This was so much fun! I enjoyed it so much more than I thought I would since I tend to not be too hot on mystery stories. But the 60s time period won me over. Plus Goldie herself is impossible not to root for. I can‘t wait to pick up the rest of the volumes at work tomorrow!

This is a true all ages comic! Goldie is so sassy and smart that you cannot stop reading to see what she will do next! I wish I had a friend a awesome as Goldie when I was 16. I cannot wait to pick up the next volume.

I heard Goldie Vance was being adaptated into a movie written by Rashida Jones so obviously I had to read it. And it's so cute! Very much in the vein of Nancy Drew but with an Eloise living-in-a-hotel kind of twist. Lots of mystery, adventure, and hijinks. Also lots of great diversity: most of the characters aren't white and Goldie has a crush on a cute girl at the record store.

I think it'd be a great comic recommendation for kids and teens.

LOVE the sound effects in this book!

This may well be the cutest girl detective comic ever! Goldie's an apprentice sleuth who's able to suss out the perps' motives and predict their moves because she pays attention to people, which she does because she genuinely cares. I love her friendships, too, and her crush is awful sweet.

Even though there're a few teenage activities, I'd say this first vol is all-ages. Kids might miss some stuff, but they'll still love it. #comics #queerbooks

Where was this comic when I was growing up? A smart, talented, athletic, girl of color as a Nancy Drew like amateur detective? YES PLEASE. Add that she has a crush on an equally smart, fun, brave, cute girl and you have someone staying up late to read all of volume 1 and an avid fan. Perfect art style for the feel of this comic also. I am going to have to pick up the paper version of these. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

So. Much. Fun. It's like a mash up between Veronica Mars and Grease, and I loved every second of it. Also, Goldie has a crush on another girl and I am here for casual queer rep.

Perfect for the reader who loved Nancy Drew, but wishes that series had more girls crushing on girls and less all-the-white-people.

LOVE. The mystery is intriguing, the cast is very likeable, and Goldie is such a badass. Perfect summer read!

This was recommended to me awhile ago by a kind litten- and I loved it! Gorgeous illustrations, Goldie's mystery solving zeal is infectious - although did she just save a Nazi? And how old is she supposed to be? (The car thing always confuses me in American books)
