#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Ch.11-15: the more we learn about the victim Draco, the more he turns out to have been a really rotten guy. An altercation from 24 years ago is revealed and as Eve digs, she may have found more unsettling information about Draco and his last lover Carly. Secrets never stay buried. And this one is a real killer. Meanwhile, Roarke gives Mcnab dating advice to woo Peabody, and Eve tries to woo Roarke with a romantic dinner

LiseWorks I absolutely loved Eve's attempt to woo Roarke. It was really romantic, and the surprise on Roarke nearly killed her effort. I'm so glad it worked out. 16h
Librarybelle Me too, @LiseWorks ! It was such a charming interlude in the story! 16h
TheAromaofBooks I loved that part of Roarke's advice was to contrast rather than compete with the other guy, i.e. be yourself. McNabb and Peabody are so freaking cute together. 27m

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Ch.6-10: Eve has a very interesting cast of characters to deal with - some of whom hated the deceased. We find out the victim was pretty much an a—hole and a sexual deviant (poor Nadine). He had a tape of her that if it got out would be pretty bad. What was he planning to do with it? Was that why he called her for dinner? Or was it just to discuss old times? ⬇️

StayCurious Then the newest victim, made to look a suicide - good thing Eve‘s not easily fooled. What do we think of Charles and Peabody‘s platonic relationship? I hope Eve stays out of it. But if McNabb finds out, will he be relieved or smug? (edited) 1w
Librarybelle I‘m really enjoying this one! It‘s a fun way to craft a mystery. As for Peabody‘s triangle—I wonder how this is going to go! 1w
TheAromaofBooks Eve palming Nadine off for the makeover made me laugh 😂 1w

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Ch.1-5: All the world‘s a stage…we‘re thrust into the world of the theatre and the actors that live and breathe it. A man is killed in front of Eve and 3000 other people and the question is not who did the actual deed but who switched out the prop knife with a real one. The victim is much hated so there seem to be a lot of motives. ⬇️

StayCurious And who happens to hold a grudge over the victim for a past slight-Nadine Furst - she was in the wrong place at the wrong time and the real killer may use that to his advantage. This one is set to become dramatic, folks. 2w
LiseWorks Yes, and of course, Roarke is involved. 2w
TheAromaofBooks The Nadine angle is a fun one. And I'm so rooting for McNab + Peabody 😂 2w

repost for @StayCurious:

#inDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Happy soon to be January! We‘re on to book 10 of our series and we‘ll keep to our same reading pace with a check in each Sunday. I believe there are 22 chapters in this book so in the final week we‘ll finish off with 7 chapters. If you want to be taken off the main tag list please let me know. Looking forward to 2025 with you (hard to believe that‘s sort of close to when our books take place!)

Finished this on the way to our destination, reading in the dark with my neck light. Luckily my husband doesn‘t mind! Another great book from the In Death series!

So I love how these are written you see Eve and her crew working towards resolving the cases but she doesn‘t give you all the clues/information so you still have to figure it out with Eve it‘s really a fantastic way to hold interest to keep reading and find out if your right 😊📖

I feel like these just keep getting better. The character development, the individual and collective storylines and the mysteries. Great narration on the audiobooks as well.

Dallas & Peabody investigate when the leading man in a play is killed onstage & it seems as if all his fellow actors had a good reason to want him dead. Meanwhile McNab is jealous that Peabody is still dating licensed companion Charles Munroe. 4🌟

BookishMarginalia That‘s a nice edition! 5y

Another solid addition to the series! Though I wish I'd had the time to get through it quicker, the suspects started to blur together so some of the twists weren't as impactful as they could have been with me trying to remember who the person was, haha.

But I'm finally up to double digits with this series! 10 down, 40 to go 🤣

Mollyanna I‘m right there with you! Just finished this one a couple weeks ago. And Book 50 is out! 🤣 5y

4⭐️ | Got a bit grittier than i anticipated toward the end but I really guessed no part of the mystery! These books are really well put-together and it's so great falling back into this world, no matter how much time I spend away from it.

So I meant to just sell some books and then look at the walls at my local Half Price, when I heard a voice saying my name in the mystery section, and I was like "hey girl hey"...

DebinHawaii Nice! I really enjoyed the Charlaine Harris Lily Bard/Shakespeare's series 👍📚 8y
LauraBrook @DebinHawaii I'm waiting to start the series until I have them all (since there are only 5). Two more to go and I'm ready! I really like her books. 8y
DebinHawaii @LauraBrook Me too! 😀 Did you read the Harper Connelly ones? 8y

LauraBrook @DebinHawaii No, after this series that's all I have left. Have you? 8y
DebinHawaii @LauraBrook Yes, I think it might be my favorite. I went through a big phase (while waiting for new Sookie Stackhouse books to come out) of reading all of her other books and series. I have not read the Midnight, Texas books yet though. I boycotted her a bit with the quality of the last few Sookie books. I do have the first Midnight book on my Kindle, so one of these days... 8y
LauraBrook @DebinHawaii I had fun with the Midnight series, she pulls in some characters from other series, and it was nice to see them again. Now that I only have 9 books left of hers I'm trying to spread them out a little more. And I'm already #5 on hold at the library for her new Aurora Teagarden. I love having these #bookishproblems! 8y
[DELETED] 2232195534 I like the Lily Bard books too. Read all of them a long time ago. And I also enjoy the Eve Dallas books. And Roarke. Of course. Totally. ❤️ 8y
LauraBrook @kaysreadinglife I'm only a few books into the Eve Dallas books but YES to Roarke! 😍 8y
Thursdaycheshirerain Im on my 4th go around the Eve Dallas series... yes I have read them all thrice before... this series is clearly my favorite. 😋 8y
LauraBrook @Thursdaycheshirerain Wow, that's majorly impressive! It's so good, isn't it? I'm still only 3 books in - annoying how life gets in the way of reading! - but my mom is almost caught up. I'm finally buying the newly published ones. Do you know if they're twice a year? 8y
Thursdaycheshirerain J D Robb (Nora Roberts) puts out 2 new In death books a year. Always in February and September. 8y
LauraBrook @Thursdaycheshirerain Thank you for letting me know! I'm amazed at her output. Like at least 4 books a year? Crazy! 8y
Thursdaycheshirerain I am a serious fan of the series. The audio book reader is Susan Erickson and she is the Ult!!! 😊 She really brings the scenes to light. @LauraBrook 8y
LauraBrook Oooh, thanks, @Thursdaycheshirerain , I'll have to try an audiobook version of these! 8y
