Shout out to a rainy autumn day because that‘s all the excuse I need not only to bake a Lemony Olive Oil Cake (definitely a family fav) but also to sing the praises of this book…yet again. I‘ve posted about it before and probably will again but the recipes are easy and the cakes are always delicious. Highly recommend this one for anyone who likes a treat with their morning coffee…afternoon tea…evening reading...or whenever you‘re in the mood.
I haven‘t bought cookbooks in a long time but since we are now living in the northeast, I wanted to see if anyone had any really good cookbooks that they like. Anything with soups would be good, after living in San Diego for 11 years we have a few fall recipes we like but I know we can use more. I figured I‘d ask here to see if anyone had any really good recommendations (I do have nut & chickpea allergies). Thanks!
Yummy cakes can be made in a jiffy, even on weeknights! Come on . . . you know you want some. Read my full review here: https://debbybrauer.org/#snacking-cakes-simple-treats-for-any...
I love this book so much. Every recipes ends up with a super moist, simple cake. I‘ve used it for a while now so I‘m feeling confident to customise things a bit! Today I‘ve made malted chocolate cake with mint chocolate frosting, apple cake with rhubarb buttercream and walnuts and a coconut cake with cherries and sliced almonds 😋
Simple Sesame Cake! A good one for the holidays after having too many sweets. So, hrmmm, eat now or freeze for sharing later?
This book has so many great recipes 😋

I love this book - the cakes are always moist. Today I tried the lemon and olive oil made with buttermilk. Yum!

I‘m hitting the wall with covid lockdown. I‘m not working ( partly by choice, I‘m a substitute teacher and while there are jobs I don‘t really have the tech to remote teach - it‘s basically all used by 2 kids going to uni remotely and husband full time teaching remotely ) and I‘m losing my mind cooking and cleaning and tidying and I should be grateful but today I‘m not. So books are being delivered. Let there be cake.
Reading this morning started with a recipe in this cookbook so that I could make something delicious for breakfast. For the record, I resisted buying it for weeks but any cookbook that understands, as its title clearly indicates, that cakes are perfect for snacking is, ultimately, irresistible. Did I start with a cake which even the recipe says is perfect for breakfast? Yes, yes I did. Can‘t wait to bake my way through this book! ❤️🍰❤️
We were almost baking from this book at the same time, @Mitch ! 😂 I made this Black- and Blueberry Ricotta Cake yesterday.
I heartily recommend this cookbook for anyone who enjoys baking small and simple cakes. 👍🏻
First one I‘ve made from this new book is super yum !
I think I‘m going to love this website - I‘ve spent the morning adding all my cookbooks to the virtual bookshelf and now I‘ve got every recipe electronically indexed - searchable, with notes and bookmarks too. No more hunting through 100s of books for a specific recipe! #nfn2020
Today‘s non fiction read ( Books Are Magic newsletter is the most dangerous subscription!🤣). Think I know how my weekend might play out! 🍰
