This was a really cute and laugh out loud story. I really enjoyed the characters and the story. The twist was interesting and I enjoyed it.

pickThis was a fun YA romp for me. I read it in like three hours. It's an adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing, modernized and set at a prep school for gifted students. It was super fun to dissect all the references!
How to survive a massive personal/professional disappointment (besides the half pan of brownies and red wine I consumed last night)? I recommend witty banter a la Veronica Mars (thanks @bookriot !) and snuggling madly purring 6 week old kitten. It doesn't fix everything, but it definitely helps!

pickCute! I wasn't sure I'd like this, but it ended up being really fun and well written! It's a modern day retelling of Much Ado About Nothing, but not in an annoying way. Sometimes adaptations lose their heart from trying to match the original, but this one didn't. The book overflowed with references to geek culture, especially comic books, Dr Who, etc. The dialogue was witty and believable and there was even a bit of a mystery. I say go for it!

I really enjoyed reading this book. I enjoyed the setting and the vibe and the writing. The characters were interesting and flawed, even if the MC did get a bit $@&×£ at times - this was acknowledged and works on which was great. Some of the nerd references passed me by but I got most of them, but I could see some people struggling with that a little. The surprise mystery was great too! Thumbs up! #romansty #osrbc

Frankly any take on Bill's Much Ado is an automatic pick up for me but this was light and funny and truly well done. Read it in one night and find myself very much wishing that I could've spent my high school days in a place like this. How I love a good YA retelling!

pickPossibly the nerdiest YA book I've ever read and that is a high compliment. Laugh out load funny, romantic, with a great mystery subplot that keeps you turning the pages. Seriously, it out-nerds Fangirl and it's just as funny. I can't say enough nice things about it.

pickA "Much Ado About Something" mashup with comics and fandoms. I was laughing out loud on the first page at Trixie's snark. (So was Dexter ? ...or maybe that's a yawn.) So many shout outs to Firefly, Dr. Who, and more. Geeking out and laughing the whole way through: me. ???
pickI loved this funny and layered nerd romance. It had realistic friendships and shed light on the pressures of high school while rocking the enemies to more trope.
One complaint: the cover. While the comic design theoretically fits, the pictured couple does not (a leg kick -- c'mon) nor do I think Trixie and Ben would be impressed by the comic style's (lack of) artistry.

pick(4 stars) Three Thoughts 1) The force is strong in this one as is all the geeky references - a little over the top that but still totally loved it 2) loved the love/hate relationship of Trixie and Ben and enjoyed their journey 3) quick LOL read and I can't wait for Alderson's next book!!

My friend wrote this awesome YA novel about geek culture and young love based off of Much Ado About Nothing. It's brilliant people. I highly recommend this smart and witty novel.
pickA retelling of Much Ado About Nothing has to bring it hard. This book brought it. The almost constant geek/fandom references only make me like it more. Oh, and you don't have to know much ado to enjoy it.
