A recently restored luxury hotel becomes the nexus for the stories of a ghost, a general manager dealing w/ a cheating ex, a rich boy dealing w/ a secret, & more.
Very much a beach read! A pretty slow, frothy, tangle of storylines all connected by the hotel w/ too much POV switching. I ended up flipping my opinions on a lot of characters, loved all the descriptions of food, & kept texting my mom about all the architectural restoration. 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑
My book club‘s pick for August! I was told that this will be an excellent beach read. 💙

My favorite character is the ghost, Grace! The book starts out really slow, just beginning to pick up 1/4 way in. Lots of characters to love and to hate. The hotel has been restored to a luxury hotel and it aims for the coveted 5key award. Staff is trained to be warm and caring. It‘s fun to watch their growth.
Elin Hildebrand has definitely become one of my favourite ‘holiday reads‘ authors. Light, easy to read. Full of good characters, interesting plot lines, romance, and sun filled days. She‘s obviously a ‘foodie‘ too as all the meals and restaurants she mentions sound great! Apparently they are based on real life restaurants in Nantucket.
This was my first Elin Hilderbrand, and it was about what I expected. The point of view was odd and inconsistent (seemingly 3rd person then suddenly slipping into 1st person "we" and "us," as if from the point of view of the collective local residents ?♀️) However, I found the descriptions of the setting to be the highlight of the book. It definitely makes me want to head to Nantucket for a summer getaway!
I loved this one! It was the perfect mix of mystery, romance, and drama with a beautiful setting and likeable characters. It made me want to plan a vacation to Nantucket!! Happily enough, there is a whole fun travel guide of things to do on the island at the back of the book. This is the perfect beach read, especially if you want more than just romance in the plot!
Surprisingly, this is only the 3rd book by Elin Hilderbrand that I've read. I really do enjoy her books! Her style of writing is easy to get lost in. There are a variety of characters in this one. Like, a lot of characters. 😬 Lots going on! They all intertwine at the hotel, where most of them work at. I liked the character of Grace, the ghost. That was a unique twist.⭐⭐⭐⭐

I kept thinking "I'm not gonna like this, I'm not gonna like this" all of a sudden I was like I LOVE this book...no idea how it happened lol

When looking for a summery beach read, why not turn to the Queen herself? Following the style of many of Elin Hilderbrand‘s books, I liked how we observed multiple characters‘ points of view surrounding the hotel, even including a ghost! It wasn‘t anything groundbreaking, but it was engaging and satisfied a bit of my wanderlust! 🎧
Loved this quintessential Hilderbrand! Juicy, compelling, and filled with memorable characters that keep you guessing. The hotel insider bits were fun and the food and restaurant descriptions were mouth watering. It makes you feel like you are on vacation, even if you can‘t be. All in all, I want to plan a trip to Nantucket ASAP! #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

This song is mentioned in the book, it‘s playing in the hotel bar on opening day. It‘s so nostalgic and classy, I think it perfectly sets the mood for the story, returning a haunted, dilapidated hotel to its former glory.

This book was okay. I‘ve never read this author before, so not sure if this is how all her books are, but she references SO many pop culture things and just music playlists. I listened on audio, so not sure how the songs were displayed in the book. It‘s set in 2022 but doesn‘t mention covid at all (which I‘m totally okay with!) Set on Nantucket. Low pick for me.

We‘ve been walloped with winter again this last week and this was my #audiowintering read while I dealt with the driveway multiple times.
The narrator took a bit of adjustment on this one and it took me a second to understand the Grace part but this was a fun reminder of the summer months ahead. It had such a nice cast of characters, I‘d like to spend more time with them all.
But WTF is with the cover? This book never gets near the water.

This was my first Elin and I really enjoyed it! The combo of beach read, mystery and ghost story had me intrigued the entire time. Some of the vernacular gave me pause though; regional words or am I just not around people who use these terms? 🤔

I was really charmed by this! Easy, breezy, fluffy brain candy, with fun characters and a gossipy village feel to Nantucket that hit the spot. Plus an omnipresent ghost narrator from the hotel‘s heyday! Perfect for your beach bag with a couple of caveats. The incessant pop culture reference-dropping was annoying, and fat-shaming terminology and attitudes reared their (sadly not unusual) ugly head a few times. But a 4 ⭐️ heart-warmer non-the-less.

If you're an Elin Hilderbrand fan this will not disappoint. The Hotel Nantucket has recently been renovated and reopened to great fanfare, lore, and suspicion from the island locals. It's a classic, character driven Hilderbrand beach read (with a few twists, given that one perspective is from a ghost who passed in a fire at the hotel many years back). A very enjoyable vacation read that I'm just getting around to posting a review for! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Hotel Nantucket follows the lives of the staff hired to re-open a luxury hotel and Grace the hotel's ghost a victim of a fire. The book is a good mix of light mystery, romance and drama. The perfect summer read.
What a fabulously different take on my favorite author‘s usuals. Grace doesn‘t disappoint and Lizbet is such a great character. Also lookout for multi-book favorite characters Jennifer Quinn, Eddie Pancik, and so many others! So glad I have a signed copy of this gem.
Well, this was all the fun I anticipate in a new Elin Hilderbrand with so many characters that it‘s easy to forget some from one chapter to the next. I have come to accept that mapping her characters is part of the experience. In this one, even the dead girl has a good chance of remaining a key character if there is more to come at this hotel.
This book was amazing. The characters were well developed and the storyline was fabulous.
This is a great summer read. It was like being with friends,I did not want it to end. 😍

I‘ve enjoyed all of Elin Hilderbrands books I‘ve read and this is no exception. I fell in love with the characters as well as the Hotel. The setting is almost like an extra character. A tiny bit of paranormal with a a ghost I was rooting for was a cute touch. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

History with a mystery, secrets and broken trusts, intrigue, underhanded dealings, hard work, play hard, success, broken hearts, self discovery, surprises, love. Will the newly renovated Hotel Nantucket survived its 1st season? Will it earn the coveted 5th key? Is it haunted?? Is being haunted good or bad? (Cont in comments)...
My book definitely just got an accidental hose shower...but it's beautiful and sunny and B is enjoying the pool as I enjoy this fun summer read! Happy Monday! I hope everyone finds some joy in the week ahead 🌻💛

3.5 ⭐️ This book is about starting anew, finding a chosen family, and feeling a strong connection to a place. With an array of characters, including the hotel itself, this is a fun “beach read.” I enjoyed the strong sense of place and lightheartedness of this book.
