Even with the murder and mayhem, this series continues to delight. Fun and breezy reading.

I love characters in this series, and I think my favorite is Vero.
This was super light & fun, enjoyable read. I had really fun time!

This was entertaining but somehow more towards the romance than the first two books.
Every Finlay Donovan book has so much humor, suspense, and spice. Love this series so much, but wish I didn‘t have to wait for the spring to find out what happens after that cliffhanger!
The audiobooks are really well done and I finished it in just a few days!
This series is so good. I can‘t wait for the next book to come out in March. I have preordered it. It‘s funny and heartfelt, but the mystery is so great too. The characters are so lovable even the potential murders. The character development is excellent and the B story could be its own book in my opinion. Finlay and Vero have won my heart! I‘d drive off that cliff with them.
Well I have a lot of experience with nice people…and it‘s always the nice ones that have something to hide 👀
Book 3 in the Finlay Donovan series. Finlay becomes more entangled with the mob, and also attends a week long police camp with Vero. Of the three books, this was the one that made me think it is getting more unrealistic. This was fun, with a good ending. Also it is implied that Steve is up to something shady, so that intrigues me.
The third book in the series was just as fun as the previous two- Finlay & Vero continue to find themselves involved in chaos, hijinks, mysterious capers, and all manner of ridiculousness. Looking forward to Book #4 next year!

Ok, I haven‘t read the 1st one , “Finlay Donovan is Killing It”, but I will after I‘m done with this. It‘s not necessary to read the books in order because Elle Cosimano is such an amazing writer that she inserts a little bit of flashbacks in a subtle way it‘s not necessary. She adds drama, romcom and mystery, she has me hooked!!! A must read. You won‘t sleep when you start this in bed. Trust me 👍🏻#ellecosimanonewfan #newsummerread #ellecosimano

The newest book in the Findlay Donovan series. Cute, light & fun but my least favorite 🫤 They‘re starting to get more & more unrealistic but I do enjoy all the characters.
Sharing a few photos from Sunday‘s wedding which was STUNNING 😍 🤩😍
These are the books I read for #booked2023 winter quarter. I highly recommend the Finlay Donovan series if you want some over-the-top fun!
I can‘t wait any longer…I‘m sharing my #TitlesAndTunes June picks…that‘s right, I‘m posting two because there are no rules especially when it comes to #GuiltyPleasure(s)
My first choice, the newest book in the Finlay Donovan series. She‘s an over exhausted novelist, divorced single mom, who just so happens to solve crimes with her sidekick/ nanny. These books are light, fun and full of charming characters and banter. Had to play off JUMP 😉
Catching up on reviews. I was happy that this one didn‘t take as long to come through Libby. Another witty & typical Finlay book. I‘ve realized that the book takes place over a week or two and not that much time had passed since the last book. Fun audio book to listen to, love Vero. Just sad that I have to wait till next year for the next book. Follows the same format of all the other books. #bookspin book
I started a new audio book & loved Vero‘s exclamation, “this is the age of sex positivity, body positivity, & #metoo. It‘s all just Lizzo‘s world & we‘re just livin in it.” I ❤️Lizzo. She was recently on an episode of the Mandalorian with Jack Black
The opening scene in this book is hilarious and sets the reader up for the fun about to happen with characters we know from the two previous installments of this mad cap adventure. This is a series where the reader benefits with recall of details, not just all the feels, from the previous books. I‘m not that reader, but still love this series. It would be hoot to binge the series if you‘ve yet to started yet!
Solid entry in the series which I enjoyed more than the second but less than the first. I also didn't like the style of the cliffhanger ending. The previous two were kind of gentle non immediate kind of endings. In this one it's very much an action must be immediately taken kind of ending.
I really enjoy this series. They‘re funny and light but not quite a cozy mystery. I like how the author keeps getting Finlay and Vero into some kind of situation where they have to solve a mystery. The setting in a citizens police academy training week, complete with Finlay‘s nosey neighbor, was fun. The ex-husband character still gets on my nerves though!
I enjoyed this one and am interested in reading the rest of the series once written 😊
4.75/5
Read for reading challenges.
Fun and entertaining, snarky and wild'n'crazy 😆
I just love this series. It‘s a bit far fetched and ridiculous but great fun. Looking forward to the next one!
As usual, Terra is not impressed with my attempts to include her in the picture 😂 🐶
The latest in this cozy mystery series is a continuation of the previous novel - not many new characters in this one and it is obviously setting the reader up for the next book - cliffhanger ending. Finlay and her kid‘s nanny are a fun team who can not seem to stay out of trouble. A fun light series 💚🐉
Love this series! It‘s pure, over-the-top fun! The characters are great (I especially love Vero) and the relationships have built up and grown over the course of the series.

'"We did not murder anyone!" She said, pointing at Ike. "That man died at the hands of God. Or maybe gravity. Definitely too many trips through the late night Wendy's drive through. But whatever the reason, it was his own damn fault!"'
*I love Vero probably more than I should*

Was this the series‘ most outlandish premise yet? Possibly. Was it the installment I‘ve enjoyed the most? Absolutely.
My affection for the core cast of characters only continues to grow; I love Finlay, I worship Vero, and I may even be coming around on the hot cop love interest.
I just love this series! Great premise, terrific characters, and each book builds the relationships between the characters in a satisfying way. And we have a cliffhanger ending, arg! I had a ton of fun with this and can‘t wait for the next installment.
Enjoyed this, but it's my least favourite of the three books in the series. It has #MiddleBookSyndrome, builds up the stage for book 4, but nothing much new happens. And just when you think Finlay manages to take a step forward in the right direction the ending makes you wonder whether she's just stepped back two steps.
I agree w/ some other reviews: it's time to wrap this up.

"I dug my mittens from the pockets of my coat and drew them on, wishing I had been prepared with something more Temperance Brennan and less Bernie Sanders."
Of course I had just taken a sip of coffee when that line came up.

Third book in the series.

This series is so much fun! Great for an escape from the real world.
I don't think anything in this series will top the first book. I still enjoyed the ride of this book, especially because I love the characters. But for how many things these characters have gotten into, how are they still making so many mistakes?? Also there is something that finally happens in this book and I shouted for joy! But at the end it threatened to go back again. One step froward.. 2 steps back.. Getting a little annoying. 3/5
I love this series.
Book 3 in this hysterical LOL series. Finlay and her BFF, Vero, try to keep themselves out of trouble but only seem to find more. Be prepared to suspend belief at times for this duo who finds trouble Lucy and Ethyl or Laverne and Shirley style. 4 🌟
⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was disappointed with this! It‘s my least favorite of the series. I still enjoyed the characters, but there wasn‘t enough of a new storyline - it felt like things out from the first two books were being drawn out. 🎧
Penny was very suspicious of this book appearing near where she likes to have her snoozes…
Honestly, I‘m not sure I followed 100% of this one but it was funny and sets up a 4th well enough that I‘m already searching for a pub date.
While I still enjoyed it, this third entry in the Finlay Donovan series is my least favorite. Things get a little darker here than in the others. I did love the opening though — I had a child like that, so it made me laugh. #audiowalk
Another fun installment in the Finlay Donovan series. This is pure silliness as Finlay and her best friend/nanny/accountant fall into accidental crime and chaos. If you are looking for a funny silly cozy mystery series with a small touch of romance, I definitely recommend. 4⭐️
#bookspinbingo - 1st bingo!
#NoShameReadathon2023 - screwball mystery
Light Pick since it is a fun story.
3½⭐
I don‘t know exactly what it was about this that‘s not really working for me with this third book in the series. Maybe the hijinks are getting out of hand or the OTT moments are just too over the top. Or maybe, and I‘m leaning heavily towards this one, there are too many characters to keep track of now and I can‘t always remember who they are. I‘m not hating it, I‘m just ready for things to wrap up already.
Sometimes I‘m in the mood for something more thoughtful and contemplative, like On Looking; other times, I just want something fun. Today I wanted fun, so I downloaded the new Finlay Donovan book and listened to it on my walk. There‘s a lot blooming out there right now. #audiowalk
Spending some time outside to get away from the COVID germs. Listening to the new Finlay book and doing some word finds.
The third installment in the Finlay Donovan series is another fun and exciting read that I didn‘t want to put down! With writer‘s block and loose ends still to tie up from their last predicament, Finlay and her best friend/nanny/parter-in-covering-up-crimes, Vero, need cash again a way out from the mob‘s thumb. Hot detective Nick plays a bigger role here, hilarious scenes & a cliffhanger of an ending has me anxious for book #4! I love this series!
I didn't love this, the third book in the series, but I liked it enough to recommend it, with the caveat that you need to read the books in order to really follow all the zany predicaments that Finlay and Vero (her friend and nanny) find themselves in. The plot is complicated, but the author's ability to create humour amongst contract killers, mob bosses, cops, a sleazy ex-husband and the antics of a two year old make it worth it. 3.5/5 stars.
The third installment of the Finlay Donovan mystery series is just what the doctor ordered for both my surgery recovery and to treat a generally weary soul. Read my full review here: https://debbybrauer.org/#finlay-donovan-jumps-the-gun-finlay-...
Publication is expected January 31.

I absolutely ADORE this book series and am loving the tagged upcoming third installment!
Unrelated to books, I've been busy in the bakery with these hibiscus shortbread cookies. The glaze is a simple mix of hibiscus tea and powdered sugar but the unexpected color makes it fun.
The best of December 2022 … it was so difficult to even choose 16 let alone … 9 of 32.
🎧 FUN like the last 2 books!
Finlay & Vero sign up for Citizens police academy 😆 in an effort to cure writers block & under pressure to investigate for Feliks. Hilarious antics & the problems of single motherhood. Characters from the last 2 books return to throw wrenches into the mix. I can‘t wait for a 4th book!
I highly recommend this book if you enjoyed the last two. Madcap good time!! Nick returns as Fin‘s interest, yesss!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Third installment in this series which ended as if we should‘ve expect more. I like the characters and premise of an author getting caught up with bad people but this one felt a little more forced than the first two - the set up really dragged this time. So a pick for me but less so than other two.
Finlay Donovan is no stranger to unintended criminal mishaps. She and her partner-in-crime accidentally borrow and destroy a expensive luxury car in an attempt to save her ex-husband life. Leaving her indebted to the Russian mob and her only hope to come out of this alive will involve her budding romance with a hot cop who has no idea how much criminal trouble Finlay has accumulated. I really enjoy this series (this being the 3rd installment).
I‘d never read this series and feel like I shouldn‘t have started with this one as it seemed like I should know more of the characters! But it‘s funny, fast-paced, and action-packed so if you‘re a fan, you‘ll love this one!
