“Maybe I don't like being different, but I don't want to be like everybody else, either.“
This story has a great message about love and can be relatable to students. Meg has a hard time at school in the beginning and the students could find comfort in that. Meg is able to gain her independence in freedom throughout the story and that is very impactful to younger students who are trying to figure out who they are.
This would be a great book to read in the classrooms because it is a fun read and has great message.
A Wrinkle in Time tells the story of Meg Murry, her brother Charles Wallace, and their friend Calvin as they search for Meg's missing father. Using a “tesseract,“ they travel across time and space to rescue him from a dark force.
50 years ago 🤯 I read this book and my life ( reading and otherwise) was changed forever. Nothing I‘d read before had transported me quite like this to another world. My original copy fell apart, this is a version I bought my boys when they were the same age I was back then. Today I‘m going to see it on stage at Stratford and I feel like there will be tears 🤦🏻♀️ I‘m already emotional thinking about it
Love the color scheme. I loved growing up there was a character that shared a form of my name and she learned she was strong.
I adore this story & am happy it‘s being remade in new media so it‘ll be accessible to more audiences, but I didn‘t really like this or the movie version. For a MG GN I found this exceptionally hard to read. It took a lot of concentration, I had to take a lot of breaks, & if I didn‘t already know the story so well I‘m not sure I would have found it easy to follow. #BBRCMiddleSchoolIceIceBaby #Pantone2022IcedCoffee @LibrarianRyan @Clwojick
A wrinkle in time is about a teenage girl named Meg, Meg is a regular high-school student with a mother, a younger brother and a father who is a scientist who has mysteriously disappeared. Until she finds help to escape her reality, and rescue her imprisoned father, in another dimension,he will stay their forever.
I don't really like to do "bad" reviews. This was my first graphic novel and I really can't decide if it's just the format or if one of the books I loved from 5th grade just hasn't aged well with me. There were a few parts that I enjoyed but overall it wasn't for me. I'm highlighting two parts I liked from the book and choosing to leave the bad behind. Aunt Beast is a mood for me.
I have to admit I have never been able to read much of the actual classic book. So I'm sure the full version of the novel is much more detailed and explains more than the graphic novel adaptation. I liked the illustrations as well.
The original is one of my favorite books, and I named my son after one of the characters. The graphic novel is a very cute adaptation!
A mind bending adventure! This format gives the scenes different pacing than the novel and clearer differentiation b/w the places. It pares the text down to the plot and leaves out most descriptions. More tenderness b/w Meg and Calvin. The sinister characters look less sinister once committed to paper, but overall still plenty weird. Good for readers with siblings or as an intro to sci-fi. #dw2020reads
Loved this! Definitely need a reread of the original soon. 😍😍
Starting this beauty today. 😍 Yes, I have too many books on my current read list right now. We'll just ignore it. 😂😂

I put this one in the mail today, it's due to arrive Monday. Thank you to both for participating.
Finished this the other day. I really enjoyed it! It was faithful to the original and a nice, quick read. It‘s in the mail to you now, @sblbooks #LMPBC

This was beautifully Illustrated. I suppose I‘m a bit of a traditionalist though in that the descriptive language was certainly missed.
This graphic novel adaptation mostly made me nostalgic and want to reread the original book. It didn‘t seem to add or bring out anything new. I would really think that they could have at least done something with color, but no.
There is an interview with Madeleine L‘Engle and a speech she gave printed at the end, though, and those are certainly worth reading.
Huh. It just now occurs to me that Charles Wallace is probably on the autism spectrum. Maybe Meg, too.
Also, Madeleine L‘Engle is the reason that no matter how many times I read Hamlet or Jane Eyre, the names Fortinbras and Rochester will always be names for large, excellent dogs.
I LOVED this adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time.
So so much! I loved the original and have reread it several times - I would definitely give this to someone who is reading it for the first time.

Graphic novel adaptation.
Meg Murray‘s father has disappeared and she‘s not sure he‘ll ever come back. One dark and stormy night, Meg and her brother encounter three strange beings who explain that Meg‘s father is trapped on a dark planet. Meg, Charles Wallace, and their new friend Cal, tesser (travel through time and space) to attempt to rescue Mr. Murray without falling into the clutches of IT, the evil force behind the encroaching darkness.
A Wrinkle in Time has been my favorite book since I was 10, & this was my first time reading the graphic novel version - I loved it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This felt clunky and the illustrations didn‘t do much for me. I like the original novel, but I‘m not devoted to it or anything, so I‘m not coming at this from an angle of “there could never be an adaptation that would satisfy me”. My 12-year old daughter absolutely loved this graphic novel, though.
This book is amazing.you cannot put it down!its about a girl who‘s father goes missing and she has to save him in a corrupted planet!
I personally like the novel better than the graphic novel, but to each his own.
Another estate sale find, this one for $0.50!! This is my first ever graphic novel, I am excited to read it! I just re-read the original last month, so this was perfect timing!
This little girl is excited about her graphic novel books she found at the used book store today!
Oh, now this is a pretty book.
Well... A pretty Graphic Novel.

Just ok. I was hoping for some more interesting/colorful illustrations 🤷🏻♀️ and even though it‘s a GN, I felt like it glossed over a lot of the original story. But I am always up for a GN interpretation and I‘m glad I read it! 🤗
I think this did a good job of adapting the original story in graphic novel format, so I‘m giving a pick. However, I‘d rather just recommend the original novel. I also wish this would have included more color.

#Readathon wrap-up was three books completed, but only about 7-8 total hours around the rest of my weekend schedule.
I have houseguests for Easter break. While they are out sightseeing one left a copy of this for me to read. 😍

I read the graphic novel before the book as a recommendation made by a YouTuber I follow.I started the book and it is easier to understand it. However, didn't like the illustrations, sometimes there were a lot of "unnecessary drawings in some parts and in other there were not enough. Some characters were confusing.I don't understand why Meg's parents needed to cross the fifth dimension, why Charles was different & ending was meh 2.95⭐️
This graphic novel was a great way to reread one of my favorite books.
This was delightful! It's an intelligent story that teaches children about good vs evil and the importance of love and family. And that being smart, being good at science and math, being different, and even having faults are all good and very useful things. I read this at the same time as the novel by Madeleine L'Engle. Both were equally enjoyable. #graphicnovels #YAFANTASY #sciencefiction #middlegradefiction
Sorry to have been mostly absent from today‘s reading, but super excited to see this on the silver screen.
Told him if he wants to see A Wrinkle in Time this week, he has to read the graphic novel he got for Christmas. He's on page 219. 😜
Haven‘t read this since since 4th grade. I‘ve really forgotten more of the story than I remembered. Loved this version and it brought back fond memories of my 4th grade teacher, Mr Adams, who liked to read out loud to the class.
I don't have a lot of #panelspicturesillustrations on my shelves, but the most recent was the graphic novel adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time. I needed a refresher before the movie! #riotgrams Day 25. @bookriot
Amazing! I‘m glad I took the time to read the graphic novel version of this! I read the book a few years back and this refreshed my memory of what happened. Even though it only took two days, I loved it!
This was a great quick read, good recap of the book I loved as a kid! Good read for younger kids too. I enjoyed it and it was great to see some of my favorite characters again!
• Lovin‘ my new kitty cat pajama pants. Still on chapter 4 in this one; been stalled a while but want to get back to it. I still haven‘t read the original 😱 Whatsit my problem?! •

I read A Wrinkle In Time decades ago, so I figured a refresher was in order before the movie comes out! Excited to take it in as a graphic novel, too.
I‘ve always wanted to try one of these 🤓😋📚 #bookfacewednesday #awrinkleintime #graphicnovel #booknerd
Anyone else have a #bookface? 😊
It was a fun read. I never read the novel so cannot compare. But I liked the general story and the illustrations.
Finished up this graphic novel today. I read “A Wrinkle In Time” the first time this year. I feel bad that I don‘t love it. It was in both formats, just “alright.” However, I only want to read Graphic Novels in the format that Kindle offers. Awesome! I want to re-read every GN in this format.
