And another book done.
Wow I missed out not reading these books as a kid, the writing is SO GOOD! I love the humor, the action, the thought put into building the world... Aaaaaahhh! 🤩🤩🤩

... DISNEY: YOU BETTER NOT MESS THIS UP!!

LibrarianRyan They pushed the movie back again. This time to 2020 4mo
LibrarianRyan @Oldschool_millenial No. But there was an interview and they said it was all ready to go. I was wondering if it just didn't want to go up against The Lion King and Scary Stories to tell in the dark. 4mo

I didn't really mean to read the second installment so soon after the first, but that's how the hold worked out. This was just as action-packed and fun as the first.

LibrarianRyan The movie out next month is disposed to cover the first 2 books. 5mo
JoyBlue @LibrarianRyan I knew there was a movie coming out, but I figured it was only covering the first book. Now I'm really glad that I read the second one so quickly! Woo hoo—thanks for letting me know! 💙 5mo

Holly wiggled her fingers, then curled them into a fist.
“I think so,“ she said, and whacked Artemis right between the eyes. The surprised boy landed in a snowdrift for the third time that day.

Potions OWL: 3.75⭐️

I forgot how much I really enjoy these characters and all the random side comments on environmentalism. But even though I enjoyed the story, I think the pacing kind of threw me off throughout it. It took me a while to really get into it, and then when i did, it seemed like the pacing slowed again and I had to force myself to continue until it picked up.

For my next ingredient in my OWLs exam for potions, I‘m reading the sequel to Artemis Fowl. Wanted to pick something I‘m going to enjoy but not rush through too quickly and I think I found the perfect ingredient that I needed!

"The Gulf of Kola was not a place you wanted to be after September, especially not Murmansk. In Murmansk, even the polar bears wore scarves. Nowhere was colder, except perhaps Norilsk"❄️

This is such a great start for the novel. I still remember the quote although I've read those Artemis Fowl books in my school days. Hooray for bears wearing scarves!?#babyitscoldoutside #WinterWonderland @Cinfhen @TrishB

Violetta @TrishB @julesG Colfer surely hits the point here, but there're polar lights to make up for the cold 🌌 12mo

Finished book 2 of Artemis Fowl's story. I never made it past this point when I read the series as a teenager, but I'm determined to see it through this time. 😉 4/5 stars

I just finished this re-read, yay! I didn‘t remember much of it until I was fairly close to the end. I like the development of Artemis and really think he could use some friends his own age. I have the graphic novel out from the library so I‘ll see how it holds up agains the book. #fowladay

These are small stands. Actually they are heavy plate stands from Longerberger. They are small. They hold kids paperbacks and some small hard covers really well. The bottom rungs are close enough that books sit nicely. Big books , one won't fit width wise, and tall books throw the balance off and cause them to fall backwards. Also nice, they can hang on the wall. Iron and heavy. Most plate stand are too flimsy but these are not.

LitLogophile Huh. I read the first Artemis Fowl years ago and I remember absolutely loving it, but I never knew it was a series. I‘ll have to pick this up. (edited) 2y

I'm so glad #ThrowbackReadathon overlaps with #24in48 this weekend, since I've been meaning to read these (mostly) middle/high school favorites for months now. It's going to be a good weekend (even if I can't make the full 24 hours 🤷‍♀️).

Libby1 I have read ALL of these! That never happens when I see a compilation photo! 2y
monalyisha Ha! I was JUST chatting with @Krystle1 about traumatic books & “Where the Red Fern Grows” specifically came up. 😅 2y
hes7 @Libby1 That's crazy! I don't know if that's ever happened to me. 2y

hes7 @monalyisha 😂😂 I've never actually read the book before, but the movie was strangely one of my absolute favorites as a child. 2y
KrystleTheBookSlayer Where the Red Fern Grows is a book that I'd love to reread some day, even though it devastated me the first time I read it. I might be a bit of a masochist when it comes to books. 😂😂😂 2y

#FowlADay
If there was a one word review I could do for book two it would be “D‘Arvit!”. Please tell me the rest of the series features more of Artemis than the faeries. This is supposed to be Artemis Fowl not the Faerie Underground. I feel like Artemis was a background character in this one so my enjoyment was merely so-so. Holly, Root and Mulch are fine but they are supporting characters. I feel they overshadowed Artemis this time around. 3⭐️‘s

readinginthedark The rest of the series features more of Artemis! At least most of it. Hang in there! 2y
GarthRanzz @readinginthedark Thanks! I‘m going to keep going! Starting book three this weekend. 2y
readinginthedark 👍🏻I hope you like the others better! I really enjoyed this series. 2y
