Last night, I had the privilege of hearing @ChrisBohjalian speak about his new book at my local #indiebookstore, Quail Ridge Books. What made it even better was having my friends and fellow Littens @MallenNC and @Graciouswarriorprincess there too!
This book sounds so good and I can‘t wait to read it!

This is not good, right? Or do they need me to right-the-ship?! Actually, I don‘t think I would be in any role that requires “ship-righting”, but still.

Anyway 🎉 I *think* I have a job interview on Monday at 8:30 am even if I have to just show up and ask for the President 🥴🤣

Man Booker Prize | Frederic P Miller, Agnes F Vandome, John McBrewster

Here‘s my own shortlist for the #bookerprize, in order of favourites.

I‘m cheating a bit by having TWO lists as, whilst these are my faves, I don‘t think they‘ll all make the list.

Bird-Hearts, In Ascension and Prophet Song should make the list. Study for Obedience will be on there because I hated it (!). And I think This Other Eden and Western Lane are more Booker-y than some of those above.

Looking forward to the *actual* list tomorrow!

AnneCecilie I‘ve haven‘t read many from this year‘s longlist, but I will be very happy if The House of Doors make it. I bailed on This Other Eden and have hardly seen any positive reviews of Obedience so won‘t rush to read that. 7mo

Book adjacent but not exactly book related. #Gladstonerds, any plans for retreats or meetups next year? Planning a trip to UK with @Eyelit and we are leaning to late summer, but not committed to dates yet. We will definitely be visiting Gladstone, London, Hye on Wye, and Edinburgh, potentially other stops. But wondering if any plans are in place?

Soubhiville @bnp no recipe, just chop up in any ratio you like. 🙂. My guess is I used about 1 1/2 cups of watermelon, an entire Granny Smith, and about a teaspoon each of mint and cilantro, juice of an entire small lime, and maybe 1/4 tsp of salt? I didn‘t actually measure anything. 10mo

squirrelbrain No, there will be rooms available. This year we got a special discount too, so if you can make it you should wait until after this year‘s retreat to book. Sept weather varies - it could be nice or quite autumnal. Just looked up average temps in F, and it‘s 48 to 62F. 10mo

Hubby and I spent a wonderful couple of hours in Cologne with @CoffeeAndABook Thanks, Chrissy, for the conversation, the mini-tour (especially the beautiful music in such a special setting), and a delicious German lunch. Littens are the best! In less than a minute, it was as if we‘d known each other for years. 😘
