Mom went in for another amputation today, all went well just waiting to see her. Continuing my Vatican fiction binge. This is also a #readordonate as it‘s been on my shelf for years…. 😂

My goodness this book was fantastic. It was hard to put down and the end had me in tears. I‘ve always really enjoyed what I call in my head, “Vatican fiction” bc of the history and intrigue. (Think Dan Brown, Conclave etc) Rarely are those books written by Catholics which is fine. But this is written by a Catholic, I can‘t put into words how it‘s different just that it is. More complete perhaps? Idk that anyone who isn‘t a catholic would notice 👇
#mentalhealthmonday a day late. @Kerrbearlib
1- physically worn out, can‘t kick the secondary sinus infection. Mentally worn out 😂 I‘m a fed so alternating between doom scrolling and burying my head in a book. We should be “safe” in the judiciary but they keep trying, plus many of my federal family are affected.
2-yes
3- hard rock
My aunt has an old neighbor that brings her random thrift store finds. She passed this one on to me- it‘s really good so far!
I‘m baaaccck lol. Dealing with a secondary sinus infection post influenza that won‘t go away. Sick of being sick. This was a really great addition to the series. I loved both main characters. I just keep waiting for Everand to yank my legacy account from me, but until then … :)
@Chrissyreadit I can‘t give you an audio rec bc we are on team Tonies for our busy brained 4yo. Each one of these characters has stories on it and that‘s how he falls asleep every night. Some are “jazzy” like Spidey so he has to skip the songs and only listen to the story if he picks one of those for bed.
I‘m down with influenza and can‘t even read right now but wanted to reshare this from an author on fb:
I was saddened to learn today of the sudden death of fellow romance author Hailey Gardiner. Hailey was thirty-two, pregnant with her third child, and leaves behind her beloved husband and two young sons, aged four and two. She had emergency surgery last weekend that she didn't survive. 👇
Where are my Philly Littens? Are you all ok??? So thankful my bestie Jenny texted me she‘s safe. @Captivatedbybooks
Just a little vent session. An author I read and enjoy posted to their group about why she feels you should replace your kindle with a kobo or an iPad. I info shared about some of things that went into my decision to keep a kindle bc hey I spent hours researching so why not make sure on this very the zon is evil post that I throw it out there for others. I was snarked back at. When did we lose the ability to even discuss ereader merits?! 👇
This was a #blameitonlitsy library book. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Fun, sexy, and believable character growth. The bad thing about my kindle is that with the lights off I end up staying up way too late 😂
Well the illustrations were good? Not much to say about this, short and pretty meh. A legend of ice and fire led me to believe it was part of Westeros but nothing about the story fits into Westeros. #readingwesteros
So fun! I loved Shay and Dominic. I didn‘t really connect with the audio so I‘m glad the ebook hold came in! #littensloveromance
Short stories aren‘t my jam. I always try to convince myself they could be. This wasn‘t bad and the stories definitely grew on me. I might enjoy it more a second time. By the end I definitely felt like we were left wanting more.
Finally updated my #readingbracket2024 this was really fun! While the tagged was definitely my top read, the Anna Albertini Files series (Disorderly Conduct is book one) made it so far because I really enjoyed the whole series including the novellas. I highly recommend for all my #romantsy friends!
@wanderinglynn happiest of birthdays! The tagged book has been on my tbr wishlist for awhile! #49bdaygiveaway
Everand‘s email about their changing structure is intentionally misleading. DO NOT give up your legacy plan until they take it from you sometime this year. They are moving to an Audible model and as such completely screwing us and likely bankrupting their company. They say they will still have an “unlimited” selection but between Google, fb, and a quick peruse of my saved titles- almost nothing is included. So disheartening.
Working in the justice system I‘ve had a front row seat to a lot of injustices - both to victims and offenders (and offenders who shouldn‘t be offenders), so I‘m always hesitant to weigh in at the first information. If you haven‘t read the full article, do but know it‘s graphic. He isn‘t disputing the events happened just consent. There‘s enough smoke that I feel confident the fire was real for a long time and a lot of people knew. Beyond sad.
My mom got this mug for my sister, my aunt, and I for Christmas. It‘s supposed to look 3d, misses the mark a bit in person, but the pic captures it a bit. They both hate the mug, I don‘t think it‘s bad at all 🤷♀️
1- I don‘t set goals they stress me out. I‘d like to be more consistent with #readordonate #readyourkindle and #seasonalcozies
2- I‘d like to read the new Gypsy Rose Blanchard book if my library will buy it 😂🤦♀️
#two4tuesday @TheSpineView
Wes‘ letter from Santa referenced the tagged book this year. #fellowshipoftolkien
Wes did get several books for Christmas. This one is really good- even dad read for a bit!
Tagged book is the wrong number in the series. I adore this series. Somehow I missed the release of boom 9, but caught it at the release of book 10. The plot line about gave me heart failure which is why I stayed up until 11:30pm finishing it last night 😂
Wes‘ class did a blind book exchange. This one went right into the donate/sell pile😂 Honestly they‘re 4! But then I realized that some other parent is probably equally annoyed that they got a Sesame Street book with one paragraph per page 😂😂 #raisingreaders
100% forgot to post this @Kshakal ! Thank you for the lovely #cbbc box! #coffeebeanbookclub
This was just not good. Bennett was flat and I wanted to punch Kira- she had almost no redeeming qualities. Here‘s a picture of a monster jam tree instead 😂
Final gift :) that‘s a picture of my son and I in Canada etched into the glass.
Audio baking yesterday. Idk if it‘s bc I read the first two books and now I‘m listening but I‘m just not digging it. I actively dislike Kira and Ben is fine but not captivating.
Did some audio baking to this today. So far I really dislike the female mc 😂 because I forgot to take a picture enjoy this one from Spaghetti with Santa tonight. The actual Santa visit was not joyous 😂
Cartoon Network has the 1978 LotR on right now! This is what my mom raised me on! #fellowshipoftolkien
May regret this, but at least tomorrow is Sunday! Stayed up all night (12:15) finishing this. These characters are just so great. I highly recommend. I wish there were more books to read!
Three Christmases ago Wes fully attached to The Polar Express when we borrowed it from the library. From there came the movie. This year is the second year we‘ve been able to participate in The Polar Express with the National Railroad Museum. Unfortunately grandma was sick this year so only mom and Great Aunt Kay made it. But we got our first successful Santa pic!
I wish this wasn‘t a real quote. He finishes by saying I‘m alive, I‘m vital. Come on George, and Patrick for that matter. #readingwesteros
Not as fleshed out as some of the other novellas, but entertaining nonetheless.
We did Letters from Father Christmas last year, but this year I‘m adding Life and Adventures of Santa Claus :)
@BookmarkTavern as much as I‘d love to #beyondtheyellowbrickroad I know I won‘t keep up. But I‘d add this for consideration this month.
Hubs and I got to sneak up to the cabin for two days minus the munchkin. It was one of those lovely times where you remember you‘re not just parents 😂we went Black Friday “shopping” at goodwill and he bought me two books :) (for those who don‘t know he‘s not a reader and rarely buys me books lol)
I usually don‘t tread novellas. But these quick stories about the boys falling in love are just right!
Two great parallel mysteries. One killer I didn‘t see coming and one was a nice sub plot wrap up. These books are funny and engaging, highly recommend.
