I know he has a huge following but this is my first Harlan Coben read. I have a few little quibbles about this story but overall I enjoyed it and I'll be reading more by Coben.

This is my plan for later on today ❣️❣️❣️❣️ Fantastic! Fabulous chocolate and two of my favourite authors 💕
This is quite the thriller. Adam is approached by a stranger telling him of a betrayal by his wife. Adam investigates, confronts his wife and she disappears. As he tries to find her, things just get trickier. As a side note, Netflix did a pretty good job of sticking to the story.
Harlan Coben does it again 👌 I didn‘t see the end coming until it was revealed! I love a good mystery novel and it had multiple points of view 🥰 I started the Netflix show last night but couldn‘t get into it so I‘ll have to try it again over the weekend ☺️

Enjoyed all of these. Harlan Coben is an automatic buy/read for me.
I ran out of audible credits already 🤷♀️ so I had to go with a freebie. This is what I came up with. I‘ve never read Harlan Coben but I know others who have. My thoughts so far: 6 chapters in, the main character chick apparently fakes a pregnancy and a miscarriage. Husband falls for the whole thing soup to nuts and now, two years later, a stranger tips him off. He confronts her and now the crazy wife is missing.
Ready to start watching the limited series. Let's see how it goes. The author is the creator of the series, which means he had something to do with the adaptation. Crossing fingers. 😃 👍
What are you reading/watching?
Book #38
✅ An Unlikely Detective: The Stranger | Harlan Coben ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
I think it fits the prompt, because he's trying to solve the mystery & find his wife.
Unfortunately, this wasn't for me. All the situation dragged & it was annoying. Plus it was quite predictable. I never cared about the MC, the wife, or the kid.
I'll watch the series, maybe this will be one of those rare cases when the adaptation is better that the book? Will see...
Just started this one. Getting ready for the movie!! I LOVE reading books turned into movies!! 😃 I hope it doesn't disappoint me. I've seen mixed reviews.
Anyone read it? Any thoughts? No spoilers, please! 🙏
Have a great night and weekend! 🙃
The premise of the story was intriguing, but the book just didn‘t hold up for me. I wanted to care about the characters and was disappointed that they weren‘t more sympathetic. I‘ve read other books by this author that have been compelling, but this (for me) isn‘t one of them.
What would you do if you learned your partner's deepest darkest secret? The Stranger tells Adam Price the secret Adam's wife has been keeping. When he confronts her, though, she disappears and the secrets keep coming. Who is embezzling money from the sports team? Who is Ingrid? Why is an Ohio cop in New Jersey asking about Adam's wife? A well done web of mystery, woven with multiple character lines! 2/365
Weak writing and plot holes you could drive a truck through. Hard pass.
#bookspin done! This was an ok read, I got through it very quickly, but it was extremely ridiculous, and the different plot lines felt a bit disjointed. I am intrigued to watch the Netflix series though! And I THINK this is 21 points for #WinterGames #MerryReaders (TBR / post / made into a TV series) ... someone correct me if I‘m wrong though!
I scored this book from Dollar General for only $3! I was pretty excited for this find. 😆📚❤️
I have been a bit disappointed by this one. I guess my expectations were too high. I felt like some parts of it didn't add anything to the story and neither did those parts help the character building.
Having a son in college during the pandemic also means waiting for 2 hours in my car while he's in for a lab. Restaurants are still closed around here ! At least take-out is allowed so I can wait with my #saltedcaramellatte.
Mother and son reading time ! #littlereaders #raisingreaders #nighttimereading
Starting The Stranger now. Anyone watched it on Netflix? I want to read the book first. #booktoscreen #currentlyreading #thriller #tuesday
When you realize you bought the same book twice in two different #bookhaul. 🤦 #bookhaulfail #booktoscreen Luckily I've got #friendswhoread
I read this because I had started the series on Netflix, which by the way, is a lot different than the book (the series is better). I expected way more from this story. The “stranger” goes around telling people a secret about their loved one. Pretty petty secrets.... way too much bloodshed for the secrets told 🙄 I probably won‘t read another book by Coben.
I haven‘t read much lately 😢, but I have been crocheting more (when my son lets me). I finished this series last night...confession: I liked it way better than the book. Pic from #IMDb.

I've never read any of Coben's books but I'm totally sucked into this Netflix series.

New book review!
The Stranger by Harlan Coben

I was rushed into reading this as far too many people were talking about the Netflix show and I was avoiding spoilers but it was no hardship. I enjoyed this, its follows the usual formula, plot driven, everything constantly being thrown on it head and you're in a daze until the reveal and you cant believe you didnt spot the signs.
A solid 4 star read!
Jut finished #TheStranger by #HarlanCoben the story kept me wondering how it would end right through and I was not expecting that ending!! Thoroughly enjoyed it! 👍
Good afternoons read 👍🏻 always delivers a good few twists and turns to keep you on your toes.
May even watch the Netflix series as there‘s no footie on 😁⚽️
I have a feeling I will be on a thriller/detective binge this week as my brain power and concentration isn‘t up to much else.
Started this today and it‘s exactly what you know you‘ll get off Coben.
I don‘t know what‘s next so #weeklyforecast is very limited!
Love and kind thoughts to all 😘❤️

The Penman was brilliant and wonderful historical fiction, started another book that I realised I‘d read 2 pages in so started The Stranger this morning 👍🏻
This is the third Harlan Coben book I‘ve ever read. The other two were audiobooks and I thought I may have liked them because the narration was so good, but this one was also great. His books are always page turners with some twists. This one delivered! I‘ll definitely be reading his backlist and the next book that he publishes. Luckily there are a lot left for me to read!
#LitsyPartyofOne
I‘m at home by myself which is utterly conducive to having a party of one in attendance. At first I thought that I would get a jump start on preparation of Sunday dinner. Then I thought that I should go take care of more errands. Finally I came to the best conclusion - Do Nothing At All! Next thing I knew...hot chocolate was steamed in a mug, fuzzy socks were warming feet & a book was eagerly anticipated. The party got started!🎊
Starting this Harlan Coben mystery with help from my reading buddy. She makes a good stand for my book. #CatsOfLitsy
Starting this today. #TheStranger. Hope it‘s good. Thought I‘d give it a go before watching the Netflix series. #starbucks #harlancoben
Reminder: the new adaptation of Harlan Coben‘s The Stranger is streaming on Netflix!!!
Happy February! I started The Stranger @harlancoben @duttonbooks last night. I‘m really enjoying it so far! This is my first Harlan Coben book! I know, where have I been? If you have read some of Harlan‘s books, what was your favorite? I wanted to read The Stranger, before I watched the series on @netflix Looking forward to starting that series. 📚🍷 Instagram at castrojeannette

This baby boy is interrupting some reading time, but he never snuggles, so I don't mind.❤🐈❤ #Hazedays
Well. 😐 That was infuriating. I spent a significant portion of this book wanting to punch one character or another in the face. But, of course, it was a page turner that I could barely put down. I will be interested to see how the Netflix series turns out. Not a glowing review, I know. 😂 However, I am still glad I read this.
I took a book to lunch today. It‘s been a while since I‘ve gotten to do this. Started my first Harlan Coben whilst eating yummy Peruvian food, which is less reckless comfort food. 😂
⭐️⭐️⭐️ • Coben writes page-turners that have proven to be a great way to add mostly-brainless variety to my reading list. But this one isn‘t my favorite. It has a lot of characters to keep track of and I read it too slow to keep everything straight.
A gentleman I sat next to on a plane in October was reading a Harlan Coben book and recommended I read The Stranger. I‘d forgotten the name of the author until I saw this today. Anyone read this book?
