The book Wrinkle in time is a sort of turning point in children‘s intellectual lives. And also really ends up being beneficial, being labeled as a science fiction story it has some science significance. In a Wrinkle In Time Meg‘s father an eminent physicist, has been missing for two years. She discovers that her father is not the invincible protector she thought he was. She must not only come to terms with this realization, but find a way to
A Wrinkle in Time, written by Madeleine L‘Engle, is a classic (SF) book that was just made into a successful movie. A Wrinkle in Time won a Newbery Medal as well as may other awards. This book is a story of family, friendship, mystery, adventure, and science! This book would be great for students in grades 6-9 and used in LC.
This SF book by Madeline L‘Engle is a Newbery Award Winner. This would great read as a LC because peers can sit down and talk about what was read every couple chapters. Meg and her brother adventure through time and space to rescue her father. This is a story that children would enjoy reading and talking about with their peers. https://www.rif.org/literacy-central/book/wrinkle-time this link gives you word searches and puzzles about the book.
Picked up A Wrinkle in Time , so my daughter and I could listen to it in the car. It's read by the author, and I'm having a hard time with her voice. Hopefully we'll be able to get through it.

“Charles Wallace and the unicorn moved through the time-spinning reaches of a far galaxy, and he realized that the galaxy itself was part of a mighty orchestra, and each star and planet within the galaxy added its own instrument to the music of the spheres. As long as the ancient harmonies were sung, the universe would not entirely lose its joy.”

So, I woke up early this morning (after being out shopping most of the night) and drove 30 minutes to the nearest half price books. I stood in line for an hour with temps in the 30‘s to get a five dollar gift card, a tote bag, and 20% off everything for being one of the first 100 in line. 😂 I was hoping to get the bag with a 100 dollar gift card, but hey 5 bucks and an hour got me a lot. #blackfriday #bookobessed #halfpricebooks
More than 50 years before Reese, Mindy, and Oprah appeared as Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which in an Ava DuVernay film, there was the Newbery Medal-winning book that inspired it. On the latest episode of my podcast, Anya Spector from Loaded Literature joins me to discuss. Check out the link in my bio to listen! 🎧
My mom just got a double adjustable porch swing, with a cup holder section in the middle- if has an awning attached and you can sit up or recline. 😍 I snuck away from our eating and games yesterday to read for a minute in the warm rainy seclusion of the afternoon. I definitely need one of these when I have my own house someday. Reading outside is so nice.
All in all I honestly liked the movie more than the book (first time I ever said that). But I feel like for me the book was so hard to picture, and the movie made it so much easier. If it were me I think I would probably show the movie in my class first and than read the book for the students to compare so they can have a better mental image of what they are reading.
A Wrinkle in Time is an exciting book about adventure, friendship, and of course family. It is an exciting science fiction book that will give students a combination of science and a cool fantasy world! There are a lot of science vocabulary in this book so a good UDL would be 2.1 and to follow along with that EL # 14. Some TS that would work well with this book would be RA, LC, GR, PR, and IR. Here is some great lesson plans!
A Wrinkle in Time, science fiction, John Newberry Medal. A high school aged girl, Meg Murry, goes on an adventure with her brother and friend to rescue her father, who is being held on another planet by evil forces. Meg and friends will travel through the fifth dimension to find her dad. This is a great LC book for students to read together and talk about Megs experience and how she has to go through the troubles to find her dad.
Just finished this quick read on audio about beloved author Madeleine L'Engle. It's amazing how many biographical elements expressed in her journals that one would find in her much loved trilogy. The biography was written by her dear granddaughters❤️ I will be teaching this novel to my middle schoolers and now I have some deeper author information to share with them📚
Just going into the cinema to see this movie now. #blameItOnLitsy
I wish we had an option to rate a book between a pick and a so-so. I did rate this as a 4 star read on good reads. In the end I liked it but wish I had read it when I was younger.
I‘m not sure that I read this as a child, though I know that I had a copy. I enjoyed the story (this review is for the first book in the trilogy) and loved the character Meg. I can certainly understand why it‘s a classic!
I‘m curious to hear about the other two books from those of you who‘ve read the trilogy. (Wikipedia tells me it‘s actually a quintet.)
A SF novel that teaches us the importance to believe in ourselves and that the power of love can bring us home. Meg has gone to find her father with the help of her brother Charles Wallace and friend Calvin. They encounter some unlikely friends that help them overcome their self doubt and the evil “IT”. This Newberry award winner has been on the New York Times bestseller list and is being made into a movie. #UFLAE3414SP18
The sign of a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ book? When your dreams are overflowing with the themes and characters from the story. So glad I decided to finally give the #timequintet a try!
Here‘s hoping the film next month does the first book justice🤞🏻

I read this book aloud with Ayva. The way it is written makes it kind of a weird book to read aloud. Aside from that, the story was fun. I like the story‘s message of love, family, and seeing beyond first appearances to who someone really is. We are excited for the movie!
Last Book Outlet #bookhaul of 2017. I needed a few for 2018 challenges and of course had to add a few more to get free shipping! 😉
A Wrinkle in Time, written by Madeleine L'Engle, is a SF book that won the Newbery Medal and would be good for IR or a LC. The book follows a girl named Meg and her brother and friend on an adventure through time and space. This is a very intriguing book that I believe students will be very engaged in! #ucflae3414f17
My top 10 most anticipated book-to-screen adaptations. (Btw A Wrinkle in Time the film looks AMAZING). 📚🎥

#inspiringauthor #amazingaprilreads. My copies of these books have disappeared but awhile back I read this adult book. This book is an interesting mix of her philosophy, small town life and raising kids while trying to write. I escaped into this book during my lunch break at work then returned to work refreshed and reinvigorated.
