Nice art and coloring.
Truly truly truly outrageous!
Truly truly truly outrageous!
If I remember correctly (because the graphic novel didn‘t touch on it) but they are all “sisters” foster/adopted type sisters... counting it! #BookishBingo
Can‘t wait to read more!!! Put such a huge smile on my face :)
Awe I‘ve always wanted to be Jem :) we are kindred spirits :) but my bug is white :)
Hubby got this for my birthday (since it used to be one of my favorite cartoons in my childhood)... starting this today :)
“Yes, Jem is glamour and glitter, fashion and fame.”

My 4-8 year old self is geeking out right now! These were so worth it. #funko #80schild #sorrynotbookrelated
Just got an e-mail about a pre-order for Jem and Pizzazz Funko Pops! I seriously will need Jem in my life!
Our Read Comics display at my library is full of some amazing reads! I loved putting this together and I really hope some new folks fall for wic+div, the legend of wonder woman, and jem & the holograms. Also, 7 Vidas is REALLY cute and I want more ppl to read this. ❤ #comics #readcomics #libraries
1. How am I supposed to pick! I had more Strawberry Shortcake stuff.
2. HeMan
3. I cannot pick. I wanted to be both of them.
4. GI Joe because my Barbies dated my brother‘s GI Joes and yes he had the little ones.
5. I remember Wuzzles a bit better than Shirt Tales.

Having a nostalgic Friday night with my favorite childhood cartoon turned graphic novel. It is truly outrageous!
Both as great as I wanted and not quite. It was a lot of fun - girls with ambitions and goals, bright colors, and friendship - all delightfully reminiscent of the original, though perhaps with more logic. At the same time there was something missing in the characters for me, though yay for different body types! To be honest, it's not quite the same without actual music, though the musical portrayals on the page are pretty cool. I'd read more.
When I was a kid Jem was my jam. So Im gonna wait to pass judgement on the graphic novels/comics until Ive read a few volumes. So Im judging this as a new/old thing...not to be compared to the old/old thing.
1. Working, but tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day! Maybe I can swing by the comic book store.
2. Cake pops, but I eat donuts more often. Cake pops take so long to make, and I won't let myself pay that much at Starbucks for one single pop.
3. Nope but I'm in the mood to read some comics this weekend.
4. I bought a wheel of brie last night lol.
5. @Blueberry even though she already did it 😜

My Easter treat to me was finally getting to this graphic novel I've been dying to read. The rest was my bunny's stack. #HappyEaster #AprilBookishMadness
What if you could take Jem and the Holograms and make them less "Barbie" and more "you"? What if they could be infused with 80s awesomeness but for the present?
Well, your wishes have come true!! It's #showtime !
This fulfills # 5 on the #ReadingWomenChallenge and after reading the afterword, I'm even happier about that - shout out to artist Sophie Campbell and her amazing courage and talent!!! May you be an inspiration for those who see this!
#gangofkittens #lifegoals
Also soooo shipping Kimber and Storm!!😍😍😍
OMG it's SYNERGY😀😀
Some serious flashbacks happening here, guys!
Didn‘t love the artwork. I do like the story so far. The changes and updates are ok with me. I do hope that they give Jerrica more courage (because in the original she was a badass). I will continue with the series.

1. A Jem doll that had earrings that lit up. Later, a game boy, which I wish I still had.
2. We have a few board books for the nephew, one is The Pout Pout Fish.
3. Older, I‘m 38. Happy early birthday @jesshowbooks !
4. Yes.
I was pleasantly surprised by the graphic novelization of my beloved 80s cartoon, Jem. I thought of it when I saw that today's prompt was #glamorous; the cartoon theme song is imprinted in my memory.

This was fun and nostalgic! I'm too young to have watched Jem when she first hit television, but I rocked out to hand-me-down cassettes from my cousins. This wasn't the most original or unpredictable story, but I still enjoyed it. The colours, fashion and music is very 1980s.
Klondike bars and graphic novels on my last night at home.
Vol1-3 I'm glad I took the time to read the full volumes of this. I was a somewhat subdued Jem fan in the 80s. This version of Jem is pretty well done. The characters are wonderfully different races, lgbtqia -and body types. It's set in today's world with some 80s twists, like each character having a dream of themselves in an 80s movie or tv show in vol 2. My friend would still kill for a coloring book of this. Thanks @moranadatter for reminding.
This was my March. My favorite books were There I Go Again & Books for Living. I heard Johnny Cash's voice in my head the entire way through his memoir ☺
I didn't listen to any audiobooks this month, because I've been catching up on podcasts. In my defense, one of those podcasts is The Baby-sitters Club Club🎧
April goals include finishing the book I'm currently reading, and digging into a few ARCs from #NetGalley.

I was a huge Jem fan as a kid! I had the dolls. I watched the show. I sang along with the songs.
I pretend that film they made doesn't exist, but the other night I decided to borrow the comics on Hoopla. And I liked them way more than expected! It felt fresh, but still familiar!
My only regret is that Hoopla doesn't have all volumes available, only the first two. I'm definitely in for the next one!
My afternoon at the reference desk is shaping up nicely! 😍Any Jem fans?! 🎸💃
Today's #RiotGrams Favorite villain: The Misfits! I want them to exist irl
Read this for my #womenincomics personal challenge and not sure how to rate. There's so much to like about this comic and I would read it again if from the library but this is ultimately not my kind of story. I have no prior love of jem and whilst I loved the diverse cast and a good focus on female friendship it's just not my bag. Perfect for a younger audience though, I'd have no qualms giving this to child relations.
So, I didn't do as well at #readathon as I should have. But, I absolutely loved this comic volume! Takes me right back to my 80s childhood. 💙
Like many of you my #bookmarks are odds and ends from my daily life. I'm strangely attached to this Movie ticket stub #booktober
My September reading stats. Beat last month by 1! Also a month of firsts! I gave audio books a go and love them! I also read my first Serial Reader, The Picture of Dorian Gray.
I was worried about my childhood heroes being remade for a new generation, but they really knocked this out of the park! While still being TRULY OUTRAGEOUS!, the characters are made over to be more modern and realistic. I love that LGBT characters are present and different body types are represented. This was so much fun to read and I can't wait to start Vol. 2! ⚡️🦄💕✨

Uh oh.. I am and 80s kid and Jem was my hero as a child. The introduction to the graphic novel, Jem and The Holograms is basically a plea to give this new reinvented version a chance. Bad sign?
It's dark outside now, so I had to leave Monstress alone and switch to something lighter. #biblioweekend

My TBR for September. As always, subject to change. Have a happy reading month, Littens!
I LOVE THIS A LOT it is very body-type inclusive and also very gay. Can I pls marry Shana
That time your 6-year-old thinks your big hair makes you look like Roxy...
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jem!!! Jem *is* excitement!!!! Ooooh Jem! I loved this. They authors struck the perfect balance of nostalgia and reboot - this is a totally modernized Jem, but still totally recognizable as the Jem I sang along to in the 80's. I ship Kimber/Stormer so hard! I can't wait to grab the next volume (and I'm stoked that my library has it!) #jemselfie
I literally hate myself so much. I went to another goddamned library branch tonight. And got 16 more books. Even though I already went to the library at home today. That brings my total up to ~ 30 books on loan rn. I just. Lord almighty.
So this is happening! #jemisexcitement
