I read this for the first time over 10 years ago, and I was able to tolerate its slow-burning unease more with this re-read. Using the framework of one single meal is so effective. The characters are selfish, dripping in privilege and a disturbing lack of empathy; how far would they go to protect their family? It‘s a dark, compelling, and twisty tale that really leaves an unsettling impression. 🎧
