pickLooking for a gritty Western YA novel with a badass female lead, action packed scenes and a dash of romance?I loved how the writing flowed to create this story of revenge, hope and romance. I loved the MC Kate, the romance was slow burn and done so well, and I liked the relationship built with the Apache 'Lil'. Overall, I'm very impressed and happy everything wrapped up perfectly, epically with them plot twists thrown in, the ending was so good!

pickI grew up on John Wayne westerns and, honestly, we need more YA westerns! This was just perfect. Can't wait to start the companion novel!

I am the epitome of *starts new book, reads a chapter or two, puts books down and reread a favorite for the millionth time* I decided to put down a gentleman‘s guide to vice and virtue due to lack of mood to read it and pick up Vengeance Road again for the third or fourth time. It is one of my top 3 favorite books. #vengeanceroad #erinbowman
so-soA little predictable, but a pretty decent time if you can get into westerns. Giod but not great. The story is interesting but the wiring does not wow. Not great for quotes.

pickI finished rereading this book (on audiobook) and I cannot recommend it enough! It‘s such a great story especially if you love westerns.
pickAfter 4 days and 20 hours I closed and reset my stopwatch when my alarm went off this morning! I wasn‘t sure I‘d make it to a full 25 hours anyway, but I picked this #audiobook yesterday as one I could listen to while working. The story was great, but also tougher and more violent than I expected. I figured out part of the twist, although it did not go as I expected. Overall, an enjoyable #YA western.

Listening to Vengeance Road while I do some chores. Which makes three books I‘m reading at once. This is still one of my favorite books.
so-so⭐️⭐️⭐️ It took me a while to get into it, although I admit that Westerns aren‘t exactly my favorite genre. I enjoyed the story, though. I didn‘t see the twist at the end coming (love it when that happens!). If you are looking for western that feels somewhat modern in style, it‘s a good pick.
Grabbed this one on my way out the door for a doctor‘s appointment. My boyfriend picked it out for me as a Christmas gift and he‘s amazingly good at knowing what I‘ll like, so 🤞🏼!
pickKate Thompson goes off on a vengeance quest to kill the gang that strung up her dad and burned their house for a journal that will lead to a gold mine. Dressed as a boy, she sets off to her dad's friend (Dad had been telling her for years that if anything happened to him, she should go there). She arrives to find the friend dead and his kids not very welcoming. So she sets off to avenge her father.
YA western with Romance. Good, quick read.
pickThis was fun! It didn't blow my socks off or anything, but it was everything I wanted it to be. Very straight forward plot and predictable characters, but still a fun jaunt into the Wild West. Don't recommend the audiobook though, I switched to print halfway through and that made all the difference in my enjoyment. Check my Goodreads for more details on that.

Pros- The main character was a fierce female not a damsel in distress, meeting the various characters
Cons- it felt like more of a short story, lots of nothing in the beginning, ending was a bit abrupt
Overall enjoyed it and appreciated the unique storyline of a female western lead but wouldn't reread.

pickVengeance Road was my first western read ever, and I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was such a fun ride! It's a story of vengeance and redemption, with a little bit of romance and family thrown in the mix. It's an incredibly fast read (I read the whole thing in one sitting), and really just a delight. I gave it 4/5 stars and would highly recommend it if you're interested in trying out the #western genre!

pickWell this was a mighty fine read. The Western genre isn't one I've delved into a lot on the NF side of the pool, but I've been dipping my toes in slowly. While this has some of the usual tropes, I still enjoyed the fact that our protagonist Kate doesn't apologize for who she is or what she's done. I love that the story has its roots in actual legend and that the author walks you through it at the end of the book. Now to pick up the companion read.
Speaking of accidental Westerns, I needed #LetterV book for the #LitsyAtoZ challenge and put this on hold without reading the blurb. I'm struggling to care but I'm gonna finish it because it's the last book between me and completion. Lol. @Debiw781 @AmandaL don't read this one! Everybody else: it's got a gun-slinging heroine who takes to the open road to seek revenge on the gang who killed her father for the promise of gold.
Finished perusing at bookfest only to watch my train leave the station without me. Now I have an hour wait for the next train + a 40min train ride 😭😭😭😭 and I was hoping to take more book photos this afternoon
so-soIt's...fine. Good twisty plot, very murdery (if that's your bag). I just had a hard time with the writing style - 1st person POV in a bad-grammar dialect that was really hard to read. I also wasn't super jazzed about the Native American representation. The white people are all mostly jerks, which is pretty accurate to time period, but every time a Native character was described as "noble" or some such it got to me.
