I enjoyed the finale of this one, it was - as usual - intense. I hope we see more of Louise in later books (I think we do but can‘t quite recall) - she‘s a good match for Eve. ⬇️

#IDLR #InDeathLongReadalong Ch.11-15: Boy, what a tough few chapters for Eve. Bowers puts up more complaints and goes to the media with wild accusations. Then she is killed and Eve is suspect # 1! Before she can get over that shock, her badge and gun are taken and she‘s suspended. This is devastating for Eve who feels like her identity is taken from her. Roarke will need to be there to help her through it even if he has to give her tough love.⬇️

#IDLR #InDeathLongReadalong Ch.6-10: we meet Louise Dimatto, an overworked doctor who works at the clinic that saw two of Eve‘s victims. Eve wants her to be a consultant on the case. She also happens to be a top surgeon‘s niece which could be suspicious. Eve interrogates different doctors at a fancy party and pisses someone off enough that they send a droid to warn her off the case.⬇️
This one was emotional as the PD took her main identity from her. I felt so bad for her. That‘s enough spoiler for now.

This peaks Eve and the medical examiner‘s curiosity as the man would‘ve likely died on his own in 6 months. So why take his heart? Eve is going to find out. But there‘s a conflict with a uniform that is promising to cause a lot of drama.⬇️

This was not my favourite book in the series, evidenced by how long it took me to actually read it. I don't know why but I found my attention wandering. It just seemed to take an awfully long time for the case to be solved. 3⭐️

Welp, vacation is well and truly over. All flights delayed getting out of Nassau because of heavy thunderstorms this morning, so I've just been chilling in the airport with a new book. Chipping away at this monster of a series about as fast as my library holds come in 😄

pickAnother great book in the In Death series. This time Eve not only has to solve a murder but discover who is trying to take her badge from her. I‘ve always liked Eve, but this one helped me understand Eve. Eve‘s motivations and inner thoughts were explored to a higher degree in this book, and I appreciated the insight.
pickI love this sci-if, romance, mystery mashup series. Each installment has a good mystery, good world building, and good character development. 🎧 I love the audiobooks, read by Susan Ericksen. Can‘t wait to read more.
pickVery jammed packed with Character growth... is a pivotal book for those who are reading the series in order. Those picking this book at random wont understand why the main characters are responding they way they are to the "holy shit" moments.
