I enjoyed some of the humor in this book, and the story was pretty good, but overall it was just okay. I wanted more resolution (Colin couldn‘t find some random connection to save the factory? Was there any fallout from Lindsey‘s breakup? What happened when Colin and Hassan went home?). Not bad, but not great either.
It was fine. I liked it a lot at the beginning, then halfway through I started spacing out. I‘m not even 100% sure how it ended and that doesn‘t bother me 🤷🏻♀️
For Wednesday‘s #bookquote, I‘m sharing this one from the book An Abundance Of Katherines by John Green. This is my favorite quote from the book. I read this book in 2015 and I really enjoyed it.
ᴛɪᴛʟᴇ: ᴀɴ ᴀʙᴜɴᴅᴀɴᴄᴇ ᴏꜰ ᴋᴀᴛʜᴇʀɪɴᴇꜱ
ᴀᴜᴛʜᴏʀ: ᴊᴏʜɴ ɢʀᴇᴇɴ
I have an abundance of thrifted John Green books but this one didn‘t work for me. I thought it was a silly premise and pointless story. I don‘t pan a book often, but I just didn‘t get anything out of this one.
So I usually enjoy John green books but to me this one was a miss. There was no real character development. The story was lacking. I don‘t really know what went wrong here because his books usually are very good.
3🌟- Generally I am not a contemporary fan I will pick one up every now and then and enjoy it. That being said I did very much enjoy this book I thought it was interesting and entertaining if a little lack lustre in a conflict. Also I felt there was no big character development. I did enjoy the inclusion of math and the appendix and footnotes I thought that was creative and different. Overall it was an enjoyable easy read
Maybe I'm too old for John Green 😅
It's an easy and quick reading, but I think is also easily to forget it 😅

One of my Favorite book since i have started reading. This book has got all the recipes for a good story ❤️
141 pages. While the main character is a prodigy and the theme - life struggles of a kid who wants to matter - is promissing, in the end the book turned out to be dull. Missed a better plot and needed more closure on some of the events and characters.

I‘ve been trying and I‘m about halfway through..... and gosh I hate this, but it‘s not holding my interest right now. 😕 I‘m going to DNF/bail for now, but hopefully will pick it back up later! @TheAromaofBooks this is my #doublespin for December 😯 Oy 🤷♀️
The only thing my October #bookspin had going for it was physical cuteness and that it color coordinates with my cat.

Stayed up late last night and woke up early this morning and finished this book :) I really enjoyed it. I particularly like how “stories shape us“. Again, thank you @AlwaysBeenALoverOfBooks for gifting this book to me. I really enjoyed it!
So. I don't try to read nearly as much but.. I do use my day's off to catch up on reading. Its not a chore for me (thats why I allow myself to be more of a mood reader with some gentle prompting with Bingos/Goals) But yeah.. days off = pleasure reading!!!
Started this one yesterday while waiting for my laundry to dry :) Thank you again @AlwaysBeenALoverOfBooks for gifting this to me. You are too too sweet.
Also I agree with this quote :)
I loved turtles all the way down and was pleasantly surprised by this one. Soo many laugh out loud hilarious jokes!!! The story slows down in the middle but I really like the ending. This author just GETS it. You never really forget this time in your life.... and the author so accurately portrays it. I will definitely read more from him 🤗
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️/5
Personally not one of my favorite works by John Green, but a good read.
Thank you so much for the wonderful package! I love every bit of it! The cards will come in handy for the #LitsyLove I am super behind in.. Also of course the mask is beautiful, hand sanitizer is always a must! You are amazing! Thank you again for being such an amazing friend! @AlwaysBeenALoverOfBooks

Colin Singleton‘s type is girls named Katherine. And when it comes to the #abundance of girls named Katherine, Colin is always getting dumped. Nineteen times, to be exact.

“Even if it‘s a dumb story, telling it changes other people just the slightest little bit, just as living the story changes me. An infinitesimal change. And that infinitesimal change ripples outward - ever smaller but everlasting. I will get forgotten, but the stories will last. And so we all matter - maybe less than a lot, but always more than none.”
This quote honestly makes this book all worth it.
This was an okay YA road trip/ new friends/ self discovery story. I laughed at bits of it. I appreciated the character diversity. It‘s enjoyable, but I think also pretty forgettable. I finished it at least a week ago and haven‘t been inspired to review it, so I‘d say a solid Meh.
I somehow never got around to this one, but my teenager is reading it and wants me to read it too.

There was an “abundance of Katherines” in my class grades 1-8. At least 8 if us!!!!!
I picked up these 4 books from the opshop today while waiting for my brother to have some scans done (ooohhhh yes, kidney stones!)
My own copy of Big Magic (woo hoo!),
another Tim Winton book, Cloudstreet, highly recommended by a friend,
another John Green book (I own The Fault in our Stars),
and Great House by Nicole Krauss, which I've never heard of.
All for $6.40!
Colin is a child prodigy. He has dated 19 girls, all of them with name Katherine. When hes dumped by K-19, him and his friend Hassan go on a road trip for the summer and he works on a theorem that can depict when a relationsip is going to end. Being a lover of math, I thought this was such a cute book. It was a light and fast read. It made me realize the love for John Green and his writing style and how I missed reading his books.
#RedRoseSeptember Colin uses #Mathematics to try to figure out an equation for how long a relationship will last.

The most adorable “pocket book” ever...found at The Island Bookstore.
Do I already have a regular sized copy of this book at home? Yes!
Will I read this mini copy? Absolutely!
Very cute book. I loved the nerdy and quirky main character.
1️⃣ One doesn't typically pick John Green for a funny book, but I don't know that I've ever laughed out loud so much while reading fiction. Warning: lots of cursing.
2️⃣ High school graduation for many long-time friends of my older daughter, who is now officially a HS senior! 😭🎓🎉
3️⃣ Italian
4️⃣ Five. My mother is an only child, so only on my dad's side.
5️⃣ 👋🏻
Just stayed up past my need to be asleep to finish this book that I started yesterday. (Have I ever done a 200+ pager in a day?)
Really enjoyed it. Surprised by how much, actually. I did like Turtles All the Way Down last year, but maybe this one more so.
Curiously, he felt too depressed to cry. Too hurt. It felt as if she'd taken the part of him that cried.

Thanks a bunch @Callemarie !! I love it all. 🤗 And I was going to get this exact koozie for you and they were sold out. 😆 #bbsredacted
Thanks for organizing this fun swap @Jilly6183 !
Enjoying some Porto with my reading tonight. 📚🍷
These penguin minis are the perfect size, thanks John green!! I‘m in love with small pocket books!!
Please release turtles all the way down in mini format soon ☺️ #favoritebooks #johngreen #pocketbooks
Loved this book. Has adventure, maths, love. A young adult novel.
A delightful read that draws you into the importance of the narratives we tell through a handful of intriguing characters.
One of my favorite authors! I know, so basic. But this is my favorite book by him and I honestly can‘t say exactly why that is. It was just a fun read.
I‘d never read a John Green book before. I know, I know. But I typically don‘t like sad or sappy books. (Before you ask, I‘ve only read a couple by Nicholas Sparks, too.) I thought this was a very cute and upbeat book. Very different from his usual style.
