I had to stop after 3 chapters. It‘s a modern version of Hades & Persephone, but she‘s just too dumb for me. She‘s made so many poor, unjustified decisions and I‘m only on chapter 3! Life‘s too short, bruh. #dnf

It was off to a good start. She wrote common, cheesy cliches that have been done way too many times so I lost my enthusiasm for the story mid book. Also, I feel like this author had way too many similarities with Lore Olympus and I don‘t think thats right, to benefit off an already popular story. I wouldn‘t say the book is bad, I don‘t regret reading it. Just wish she was a little more original.
This book is just so dang good! I loved every moment it. Total ACOTAR vibes and makes Greek Mythology interesting! #LitsyLoveReads
This book was so fun! I loved this take on Persephone and Hades and I am so excited to keep reading the series!
Oh my smut! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ This retelling of the Hades and Persephone story was difficult to grasp at first. Persephone in college? Hades owns a nightclub? 🙄 The gods we‘re def part of the moral world which was odd. But then of course the love story prevails and although I don‘t think I‘ll read the other books this one turned out alright in the end. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hades and Persephone retelling. If you‘re super into mythology and study it for a living (English teachers age ayeeee) you might hate it. I found the characters pretty one dimensional but I was in it for the smut and not the plot. 3/5!
One of the best Hades and Persephone stories I‘ve read.
And what happened to Minthe at the end was fabulous.
Beautifully written, I fell in love with the King of the Dead. I cannot wait to finish the rest of the series!
Ooooh I love Greek Gods and mythology!! This was such a fun (and smutty 🌶️) read, I am a fan! I am a sucker for a bit more spicy fantasy romance books and this one was doing a fine job 🤩 can‘t wait to finish the rest of the trilogy 🥰🙏

Here we go again! Time to start another trilogy 🙏🤩

I‘m not a huge fantasy fan but I enjoyed this one. I‘ll definitely read the rest of the series.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Read this one in a few hours. Definitely a high spice factor! Predictable plot line but still a fun and fast adventure. Reminds me of Neon Gods, but I enjoyed that series more.
It's like a darker version of Hades and Persephone story set in modern time. Persephone made me so mad because she jumped to conclusions and didn't respect his realm.
I like the basis of the story. Not sure it was flushed out very well though. I know this is the first in a trilogy, but I feel like things should have been more solid.
Did not realize the high spice factor. I get annoyed when every scene is the same descriptions. Let‘s get more creative people!
My library doesn‘t have the rest of the series in audio format so I don‘t know if I‘m going to finish it.
Next row of my #readinglogsnake is A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair. For romance, I have decided to use pink. I am not a fan of romances, but I will read a few during the month of Feb in honor of Valentine's Day. This is another retelling of Hades and Persephone where a chance encounter leads Persephone in a contract with Hades. Good story, but it's not as spicy as I was expecting. 4/5 ⭐️ 2/5 🌶 #BooksAndCrafts #ARRCReads

Premise of a unique retelling is actually a full blown erotica. The cringe, the cringeeee!! Idk how many times I rolled my eyes at “Darling/my lady”. The insta love. Not an accurate depiction of Persephone, personality wise & w/ her maternal relationship. The extra chapters were funny though. She turned Minthe into a mint plant 😂 If you go into this knowing it‘s erotica, it‘s okay.
Welp, apparently I have two speeds, glacially slow or stupid fast😂 This was an engaging romance, with intriguing characters, larger-than-life gods, just enough mythology, and some delightfully spicy bits. I love a sympathetic anti-hero, and who could fit that bill better than Hades himself? Not what he appears, from beginning to end, and the story of Persephone finding herself and her power was rewarding and felt authentic. Definitely a fun read!
Trying on something lighter…I think. Burned through 60 pages on lunch lol. Maybe it‘s a mood…a romance for Valentine‘s Day?
Loved this book. I was a little unsure if I would enjoy it. But I really did!
I read this book without reading the description. I was drawn to the cover and had seen a few people recommend it. That being said I don't typically read "smutty" books but was sucked in.
My biggest problem with this book is the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days plot twist. It seemed like an after thought as if the author saw that the plot was lazy and wanted to just throw something in there.
For me there were two secondary characters that were more interesting than the main characters: Hecate and Lexa. Both were friends of Persephone. Hades & Persephone were somehow too perfect to be really interesting.
This didn't feel really much like a mythological story. This was retelling but wordbuilding and mythological “vibe“ were missing.
This was entertaining and easy to read but didn't feel really special.
#SeriesRead2022
Though it had a slow beginning, I really enjoyed this story of Persephone and Hades. It was spicy and well written, though some parts could have been more meaningful rather than adding a sexy scene. I'm conflicted on how I feel about Persephone, I liked that she's growing into herself more, but she's also a little oblivious. The second half was great and I loved the ending, I definitely want to read the rest when I get around to them!
I know there‘s mixed reviews for this one but I loved it! Can‘t wait to read Hades‘ POV. 😈
Not good! Well...not for me... I love a good feminist retelling of a Greek myth but this is not a Madeline Millar or Jennifer Saint! Some spice, but even that is bland (irony not lost on me). Maybe I'm too old for this... but I don't think even a younger audience would appreciate being portrayed as these characters are throughout the novel.
Just found this and super excited about another Hades/ Persephone series. I also got the first book 📚 n a different series about them. So excited!
Not sure I would have read this story if I had seen the cover on the right.
How about you?

Hades and Persephone retelling. Set in a modern world where the gods are celebrities. Persephone is a college student trying to make her own path out from under her mother‘s thumb, Demeter has a very strict rule that she is to stay away from the gods, which she obeys until an encounter with Hades.
Tons of fun, many spicy scenes but it doesn‘t overtake the plot, I LOVE Persephone. Will def continue reading the series. 🌿
My order from pangobooks came in! I spent $4 and the seller sent it in perfect condition and even sent me a bookmark with my initial on it-so thoughtful!
* Also peep my super cute manicure I did myself 💗
Hades and Persephone retelling.
Definitely a compelling read and it is sexy and well paced. It was enjoyable overall and I liked the interpretation of various mythological characters.
Never really completely warmed to Persephone though and that‘s a bit of a problem as the whole book (and the rest of the series I believe) are from her perspective. This book also felt like a ‘‘part 1” - an opening to the series and therefore lacked some depth.
I didn't know I needed Gods to have horns, but now that I've experienced this book, they can never be without them. I loved how the modern world with phones and computers exists together with not only the Gods living on earth, but also certain things in Greek mythology that hadn't happend yet in this book.
Romance is for sure not my genre. Why are the two lovers so often angry with eachother? But I did really like the mythology aspect in the book!
The writing was pretty terrible and Persephone was just about the most annoying character I've ever read... but it was an easy, entertaining read. Great for my mini vacation since I didnt have a ton of brain power to devote to a book. Not sure yet if I will continue the series...
Trying to chase that Lore Olympus high with another Hades and Persephone story for my #audioknitting tonight. The writing is not great, but it's still entertaining.
This Hades x Persephone retelling had me surprisingly hooked. It wasn't the best writing ever, but I enjoyed the world she built and how she played with Greek mythology and its characters. Really fun. It kind of falls between a So-So and a Pick for me, but I'll definitely check out the next book.
⭐⭐⭐.5

Book 12 of 2022
I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I always have loved the story of Hades and Persephone. So a romance about them was definitely on my radar. At times the sexual scenes were a bit awkward. But I thought the story itself was pretty good and I liked a lot of the characters. A solid 4 star for me, cheesiness and all.
160 of 2021. This story had some issues, but overall it was a decent Hades & Persephone retelling. I probably will continue the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Last month, @HOTPock3tt and I did an impromptu buddyread of this. While it‘s always fun to text-rave/text-bitch with Kenya about books, I feel like I did a bit more bitching than raving this time.😉
Loved: urban fantasy retelling where the gods are living amongst us in modern times. Hades=SO HOT. Sexy times were adequately sexy. Hecate.
Disliked: writing=not great. Persephone is ridiculously annoying. The ol‘ innocent virgin trope.🙄
⭐️⭐️⭐️
I feel like there‘s a lot of Hades Persephone books right now. This was alright. I love a good Greek mythological retelling and it was good. Very smutty. I wouldn‘t recommend if you want a 100% faithful retelling. Still fun. #bookspinbingo
I have definitely been on a mythology retelling kick this year and this one hit the spot. I have always been intrigued by Hades and Persephone‘s story and alway felt like they got the shaft. Not in this version. I thought it was great.
September Book 4/25 #LitsyLove #bookspinbingo
Interesting take on Hades and Persephone, vividly told and a bit spicy. I enjoyed it and it is definitely a pick, but I did feel like it fell a bit short of it‘s possibility to be a great book. I may give the next in the series a chance to see if it meets the mark. #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks
Ohh boy, the writing in this is not great. It‘s very much trashy fan-fiction, BUT I just can‘t resist a Greek Mythology retelling especially when it‘s about Persephone and Hades 🌺💀
This author does not shy away from explicit sex scenes. Not gunna lie, it‘s kinda fun watching Gods go at it. Am I going to hell? Probably - At least Hades will know what I think of him 😅🪦
Very excited for this one..🍻📚

You're doing great.
Holy moly! I have been in a reading slump all summer long. But this Persephone and Hades retelling just rekindled my love of reading. I am now eager to get the next two books to finish their story.
It‘s just not keeping my interest and I have a stack of books I want to read so I‘m bailing!
