Cass was a relatable character and I loved how there were several characters to suspect. It wasn't too easy to guess what was going on, especially when it started to be unclear what was true and what was not.
This was intriguing to read!

Prompt: BREAK IN THE TITLE
On her way home from a work party, Cass passed by a car on a deserted road and didn't stop because the driver gave no indication that any help was needed.
The next morning the news announced that a woman had been murdered on that same road.
Very tense read.

Today‘s Prompt: BREAKDOWN
THE BREAKDOWN had me turning the pages as well as being nervous for Cass, but it was nothing like the tension and terror of her first book.

We‘ll, that was…boring, predictable & very much a disappointment.
A quick, suspenseful read. Cass drives past a broken down car on the way home during a fierce storm. The next day, she learns a woman was killed there. Cass is tormented with guilt. She fears someone is watching and calling her, as her world falls apart. Will she get her life back? Can she be safe?
The opening of this book scared me so much that I almost didn't continue. I'm glad I did!
First of two books done for February! #bookspin
February #bookspin I got 2 spooky/ scary books. 5. The Breakdown by B.A. Paris and 10. My Soul to Keep by Tananareve Due. 🙀
I loved Bring Me Back by the author, but this one is very disappointing. The writing style is still up to par, but the main character was irritatingly passive, & the plot was so obvious, I figured it all out after 2 chapters & only read to the end to see if I was right about everything. 2⭐

This one has been on my shelf for a while but the audio version was available so I opted to listen instead. This is the second book I‘ve read by here and enjoyed both. This is about as intense as it gets for me though. 😂
The story was slow and dragged. Repetitive scenes of Cass being afraid and constant over-the-top worry made the book monotonous and whiny. They were all dislikeable characters to me 🙄
This book really takes you on a wild ride. A slow burn that gets more and more intense as Cassie is realizing she may have early onset dimentia. Little by little she is losing touch with reality. Her husband Matthew and best friend Rachel are supportive when Cassie becomes obsessed with a recent murder in her own neighborhood, causing terror.
I don‘t know what happened in June but I got like 5 bingos! I did bail on 3 books so that may have helped.
The tagged book was my #bookspin but I bailed on it. I picked it up and just knew I wasn‘t in the right headspace for a thriller. When I was already annoyed that she was so stressed out about telling her husband that she drove home on a specific road, I knew I just couldn‘t.

Today‘s Prompt: ORANGE
THE BREAKDOWN was very tense, and did have me thinking someone was purposely doing all of these things to stress Cass to the point of losing her memory and deciding to not go back to work.

Cass was apprehensive of just about everything-is she having a breakdown? Is she paranoid? Should she take the sedatives?? And how will this story END...

It was good but not a huge surprise as to who the “bad guys” are.
The ending was not what I expected! I couldn't put this book down, I just had to know which characters were trustworthy.
I think I just expected too much from this.

Doug! Thank you so much for everything! Those socks are going to be perfect on cold fall mornings!
The books all look so good! I‘ve never heard of Cold Bath Street. It seems like a perfect October book. I can‘t wait to read all of them!
Thank you so much! #LitsyLoveFallSwap
I have had this audiobook in my collection for ages and still not listened! Does anyone else acquire books and then ignore them? I have too many of these "someday" stories waiting for me! #BAParis #AugustAuthors

3.75 ⭐️ this book...🤔. It‘s funny how conflicted I am. If I had to choose, it would be between So-So and Pick. ‘So-So‘ b/c a majority of the book felt like being in and out of a nap on an international flight. You feel good but you keep wondering “are we there yet?”. ‘Pick‘ b/c the last 30% of book had me thinking, wanting to pick up the book and practically flew by. Give it a try. I read the physical copy along with the audiobook. 👍🏾
What a good, quick read! This book made me so angry! It was definitely not what I expected, and I‘m so mistrusting of people. The end was fairly satisfying though!
While I didn‘t enjoy this audiobook as much as the previous by this author (Behind Closed Doors) I did find that it held my attention and kept me guessing with at least some of the mysteries. My biggest “issue” was with the main character and how easy she was to manipulate, terrify, and make weak. All said it was still a fun listen and had a satisfying ending. 🌟🌟🌟 1/2.
I find it really frustrating when I can‘t quite remember if I‘ve read a book before or just the blurb! The case was true with this one, I have definitely read it before 😂 but I hate stopping a book once I‘ve started so I persevered. At least I can‘t possibly forget reading a book twice, can I??
I guess it helps that I actually enjoy Paris‘ style!
Readathon is complete. 5.5 books read during it. 27h 43m. Heck yea!#mbcreadathon #mbcfrogsread13 #24b4monday
This book kept my interest throughout, but it definitely wasn't the best book I've read. Mainly, Cass being a bit too paranoid for the average person when she is constantly thinking the murderer is making the silent calls. Plus, she seemed to be taking Jane's murder a little seriously. I'm sure I wouldn't be an emotional wreck if I met someone only once and they got murdered shortly after. All in all, this was an enjoyable read.
If you read and enjoyed Behind Closed Doors by this author you should give The Breakdown a try. Fast paced, this suspense filled psychological thriller was an addicting treat that kept me guessing until the end.
Plenty of suspense and drama, though a bit repetitive and predictable in places, and the characters sometimes seemed a bit flat. Fast read, and it continued to hold my interest.

The struggle is real!! 🤣📚🤣📚
I really liked this one by BA Paris. It was definitely full of suspense and got deep into my head while reading it. It had a superb twist to it and a really interesting plot. I definitely didn‘t figure the ending out in this one and would recommend if you like a good psychological thriller.
@Loric
Amazing book! After I have put a book on my tbr and then read it, I do not go back to review what it is about. I go in blind. I did that with this book. The story was edgy and made me feel as if I were sinking into dementia with her. I have downloaded the other books by this author already. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
