I happened to grab this book off my shelf to see what books I was missing of this series. I bought it years ago at a thrift store. I had no idea it was signed by Patricia briggs 🤯

Today's #audiobook DIY session: I changed the 3 doors on the shelves and rearranged the contents of the shelves. You can only see two of the old doors in the picture on the left, I only remembered to take a 'before' picture after I had finished with the first door.

My treat for finally doing this task - tea and more reading. 😁

This was a good, quick read about a shape shifter trying to solve a murder her friend has been jailed for. So why did I post a picture of a tahini chocolate chip cookie I baked today instead of the cover? Because the cover is absurdly objectifying. I am not sure if the main character, Mercy, has a giant tramp stamp or not, but she definitely doesn't pose sexily in crop tops. She is a mechanic and wears jeans, normal Ts, and sweats. ⏬

Continuing on in the Mercy Thompson books! I did not love this one as much, mostly because I wish authors would stop using sexual assault to show that a female character is strong. But I did like the insight into the fae world, and am excited to see what comes next in the series.

I surprised my husband by bringing home pumpkin beer and apple cider donuts from the store already this year, and I‘m busy audio-painting-my-nails on the deck with the beer! Mmm fall, I‘m ready.
First book I thought of for today‘s #littensdressedinblood prompt was Moon Called, but since I used that for a prompt last month and am on to bk 3 in my semi-regular re-listen, I‘ll tag it instead! Love me some werewolves, if we‘re talking about bad moons.

It's a real slow build up in the beginning but it builds really great once hell breaks loose and things start happening and the story really starts to come through as trouble comes looking for Mercy or maybe it's the other way around but either way it builds into some twists and turns that towards the end gave me some mixed feelings but I need to see how the fallout from this book changes Mercy so I'm off to read the next installment. ⁠

Love my rereading of the Mercy Thompson series. Although this one has a tough scene (trigger warnings).

Lorelei King is such a masterful narrator.

Really loved getting back into this series. Wish I hadn't left it so long.

My reading buddy for today finally settled, after he tried to break me by sitting on my chest! He is a huge boy!

Time for a little light reading I think.

Listened to the audio, and I had a hard time focusing (that may be obvious from my summary!). Enjoyed what I paid attention to, but I‘ll try to remember not to listen to another audio in this series, for as long as I continue the series. I‘ll at least try the next one (not audio) and see if I want to continue after that at all.

In Iron Kissed, Mercy went up against the fae to save her former boss & mentor who is Iron Kissed (a fae who can work with metal, even iron).

I love the ending of this one, and there's a really great emotional moment, but there's also a really terrible scene in this one for the main character. I heard that bit on my way to work, so that was a bit of a bummer. Still enjoying my reread of the books in this world.

So I listened to this on my mini road trip to my next assignment. I am Not going to say I didn‘t like this one as much as the others but... it was difficult at the end. The subject matter hit a little too close to home and I‘ve been especially vulnerable.. didn‘t turn me off to the series though

Summers are for urban fantasy and romance books for me. I had heard positive things about the Mercy Thompson series and have finished four of them in the past month. So yep. There is that.

I think this book is the one with a really rough ending. Hoping to get through it and move onto the next one in my series reread

10/10 3rd book in the series, I really enjoy this author's style. This book had an emotional component to it, and actually made me laugh and cry. Trigger warning : sexual assault

I swear it's been a week of Mondays, but finally it feels like a Thursday! Excited for work tomorrow night and Saturday night ( @FountainBookstore is selling books at Murder Mystery at the Library event and it's something I look forward to every year!). Today though calls for coffee and Mercy Thompson. I know there's a bunch more books in the series, but I'm still stressed for Mercy who has caught the eye of some powerful and dangerous fae. Eek!

Definitely feeling the need for coffee and calm, and reading is the best way I know to achieve that without taking a nap! #coffeeandbooks

Rereads are so cozy. They make my inner bibliophile hum with good vibes. This year I decided to make it a small silent goal (aka not set in stone) to reread one book for each month of the year. I delved back into the Mercy books because this woman is badass and I want to be her friend. Plus I'm a bit behind on the series and this will help me refreah on the world. This one was all about the fae, and they were quite scary. 😳 It was also very dark and emotional toward the end. Ended with an opening toward a new beginning. Looking forward to #4! #romantsy #osrbc

Mercy Thompson #3. An incredible book that makes me cry every time. Initially a fairly light mystery, you think "same old" for Mercy & Co. But that scene between Ben and Adam? Incredible stuff. Definitely one to read, but read them in order!
