I was two behind in this series and am ALWAYS excited to dive back into Mercy‘s adventures. This 12th book in the series involves a “smoke dragon”, who with a single bite, can control a person and have them do anything it likes. There‘s also a bond issue between Mercy and Adam (her mate) and a rogue group is trying to take over their pack. There‘s always multiple problems going on in the Mercyverse, so it always keeps me entertained and on the 🔻

Another excellent instalment.

With such a large cast of characters, I think it could be easy to have very 2D personalities and relationships. But in this series, everyone is well fleshed out and don‘t necessarily just have happily ever afters, they have to work at things. Which is probably what helps keeps this series exciting even after so many books 😂

While not as good as some of the other books in the series, this is still a good book. I like the building of the Fae tales and powers.
When a shapeless power can take over the people it bites, it‘s up to Mercy to use her resistance to magic and her growing knowledge of the Fae to protect her family and her city.
3.5/5 read if you love the series and if you want a dark Fae story

These were the last books I hauled before 2022 on here and this check in didn‘t do so well…. I‘ve read one of these but the Patricia Briggs ones are part of a series and I‘m not up to them just yet but hopefully I can get to them soon.

Should I be concerned that I almost started crying over an inanimate object? Not death, destruction or mayhem. An inanimate object returning. I feel like this should be a concern….

A very good read! I don't think I had any book in the series I didn't love! On to the next Alpha&Omega book!

Mercy Thompson is my all time favorite series because she is smart, and she‘s funny, and she‘s vulnerable while being tough. I hope Patricia has many more books planned for her, because I‘m not ready to let go. I think if we ever reach the end, I‘ll just go back and reread them all. 🥰

This was low, just barely a pick. I love Mercy and her whole world, but I struggled with this one. I figured out the two “twists” early on, which was kind of disappointing, as it felt like Mercy really couldn‘t see any of it. Best parts were the characters and their interactions. I loved Jesse‘s parts and the conversation with Bran. And Wulfe is so creepy.

Another solid installment in the series. This time there is a more fae slant to the mystery of the moment as well as other things dealing with the overarching plot line. This marks the first series I‘ve caught completely up with in my yearly goal to finish series I‘ve started.

Today‘s BN #bookhaul. Four for the kiddo (two will be for Valentine‘s Day), one for mom (Eight Perfect Murders), and four for me! I‘ve been dying for the tagged book so I was thrilled they had it already and it wasn‘t SOS. I think all of mine are going on my soon TBR shelf.

The Mercy Thompson series is one of the first full series that have read in ten years. I truly enjoy reading it. All of the supernatural creatures and the pack bond is what I love. I know that fans have to wait until, 2022 for the release of the next novel. That‘s fine by me. I preordered a new Book Beau in July and it finally arrived this week. It‘s a collaboration with Hello Lovely. I love it.

I spent my birthday on Wednesday walking the floors of a brand new mall in my state. It just reopened on the first. I made it up to page 216. I‘ve been reading this book for 26 days. I think it‘s the best on in the series which is why I am taking my time. #patriciabriggs #smokebitten

I‘m about to start reading the 12th book in this series. I haven‘t read a series longer than a trilogy since The Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris and The New Millennium Neteru series written by the late LA Banks. I‘m still reading the Shadowhunters series by Cassandra Clare but I‘m only up to book 4. 🤔 I‘m doing well with The Mercy Thompson Series. #smokebitten #patriciabriggs

Challenge 5 of 50: A Book with a map

Not the most exciting map, just a map of the tri-city area, but a map is a map! This is such a fun series and it has stayed surprisingly good even after a dozen books, a short story collection, and a sister series. I hope Mercy keeps having adventures for a long time to come!

As the libraries are closed I couldnt get the new book. So I ordered it and finally received it. Cant wait to read it!

I hate it when Mercy and Adam are having issues. And the problems keep piling on. I was afraid some of those would be added to the not-yet-taken-care-of pile, but it finished nicely. And I am ridiculously psyched about that last sentence.

This was another fantastic book in the Mercy Thompson series. It has a tough start but the payoff is so so worth the journey. This is book 12 in the series, and even though each is its own story, they are best read in order.

You will have doubts from the first page. Roll with it. Trust me. Trust Patty! Briggs proves she's still got it with this one, pulling on loose threads and weaving in strings from previous books, she takes us down a path I never saw coming. And it makes so much sense I can't imagine it any other way. “Smoke Bitten“ now rivals “Frost Burned“ for my favorite in the series! Might have to read them all again, you know, for science.

I loved that all of the Mercy regulars made an appearance in this book but that their parts were secondary to what was taking place with Mercy and Adam. The addition of a great mystery that had a fairy tale angle to it was also quite fabulous. I had a lot of fun following along and parsing the clues with Mercy trying to figure out who or what could be behind the attacks taking place. It was an engaging, suspenseful, and fast-paced story!

I've been watching for this book to show up on NetGalley. It finally did! And I was approved for the ARC! 😁👏🏻 #currentlyreading #urbanfantasy
