Here‘s my review for a book I just DNF‘d. I chose this book for one of my mood reading prompts for #bookspinbingo.
Here‘s my progress in this book. It started off really interesting but I‘m going to DNF it. I can‘t get into it. It‘s following too many characters. It‘s following a college student who lost his family, an FBI agent and the dead family members. Not only is it following a lot of characters but it‘s also going back and forth between the past and the present. I like the parts of the book with the true crime documentary in it.
Enjoyed this audiobook. Just the propulsive listen I needed while cleaning and cooking for the Halloween gathering we host every year.
I have this on my kindle and it‘s on my tbr for this month…I probably won‘t get to it! 🤦🏻♀️

This was an excellent book! Plot twist after plot twist, it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Another new author for me to keep an eye on.
“‘They found the bodies on a Tuesday.‘ So begins Every Last Fear, a twisty and breathtaking novel from Alex Finlay that traces the fate of the Pine family, a thriller that will both leave you on the edge of your seat and move you to tears.”
Stayed up way past my bedtime to finish. 🙃 I really loved the story. The pacing kept me interested and the story was great. I did feel real bad for this family. #SuperSeptember book 2 finished 😊🌟🌟🌟🌟
My usual 3 week infusion… honestly this book is messing with me. I have to know what actually happened!
Gettin started on Every Last Fear before the festivities begin for the Michigan night game! 😀 I‘ve been meaning to get around to this book and so I felt like it was a good time to start. Lots of car time and down time to read.
This didn‘t feel like a thriller to me. Maybe more of a mystery. I did guess the twist but still enjoyed the journey. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a solid if not overly surprising thriller. The pacing was great and with short chapters it was easy to keep reading just one more chapter. About halfway through I switched to the audiobook and it was pretty good as well. Enjoyed the characters, especially Matt and his group of friends, and just wish I didn‘t get an inkling of where the story was headed as early as I did. 🌟🌟🌟
#BookReport 29/22
The tagged book is not in the photo because my daughter is reading it but I did read it along with these other beauties. This Time Tomorrow is this week‘s favorite but I honestly loved them all!
I hope you had a safe trip home Cindy 🤍
A few people posted about this recently, and I am a sucker for a good thriller - this didn‘t disappoint! I‘m finding that I enjoy multiple POVs more and more, especially when they all fit together so perfectly 👍🏻
A perfect day at the beach with the perfect beach read. This is such an engaging read, from the first to the last page. Filled with twists, great characters and even cloudy eyes because of all that happens to the Pine family.

This was a great thriller, I was completely hooked from page one. You just want to read it in all one go! Twists and turns!
Very gripping. Kept me guessing. Layers like an onion. LOVED the characters, which is rare in this type of thriller. Matt and his friend group especially are so endearing.
Matt‘s family is defined by his older brother‘s murder arrest years ago. A new documentary thrusts the family again into the spotlight. Then the rest of the family turns up dead. Matt & the FBI try to determine if this is an accident, or related to Danny‘s crime.

Wow, this was good! The Pine family has had a tough go of it. Matt just found out that nearly his whole family has died in Mexico from an apparent gas leak. Meanwhile his older brother is incarcerated for the murder of his high school girlfriend, a crime made famous by a viral true crime documentary proclaiming his innocence. But what actually happened? And did the rest of the Pines meet foul play themselves? I was hooked! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
WOWZERS! A teenager is imprisoned for the brutal murder of his girlfriend. A documentary has shattered his family but also created reasonable doubt. When the rest of the Pine family is found dead in Mexico, it's up to Matt to find out what really happened. I NEVER saw the end of this coming and the twists and turns had me guessing until the end! 👏👏👏 #audiobooks
Left turn, Clyde!!! I'm really stumped as to what's really going on here and I love it!
This is a must read. I was introduced to Alex Finlay through an entertainment weekly sneak peek of his next novel. After reading that excerpt I preordered it and ordered this one. I thought I had a feeling that I knew who the killer was. I was right but I did not see that final twist coming. That‘s all I have to say! #EveryLastFear #AlexFinlay
I am on page 329 and I have a sneaking suspicion that I know who the killer is. If it is who I think it is…..🤔🤔 #alexfinlay #everylastfear
I‘m up to page 222. I‘m really happy because there‘s a book coming tomorrow and I can‘t wait to read it.
I have 233 pages left. I really like the third person narrative. It switches between three characters and reminds me of a TV show. #EveryLastFear #AlexFinlay
86 pages in and I‘m glad I chose #EveryLastFear as my first full read of 2022. #AlexFinlay
I made the decision not to try to guess the outcome of thrillers and just sit back and enjoy the twists and turns. And there are a lot to enjoy in this #NYWD22 pick from Scott! There is a dead family, a possibly wrongly accused brother, and another brother trying to find peace and justice. I loved the angle of the true crime documentary. Sometimes this many plot lines could cause confusion, but Findlay keeps it under control. Definite pick!
These are great picks for me! Both are #audiobooks.
Every Last Fear is on @vivastory ‘s #NYWD22 list, so I definitely want to read it this month.
I started NY NY NY yesterday, and it fulfills prompts in two challenges.
Thanks, Sarah! #bookspin #doublespin
Forgot to share this as it‘s not Christmas related 😆, but I won this on Goodreads! I don‘t receive the emails notifying me anymore for some reason, so it was a total surprise when it showed up in the mail. Excited to read it next year!
Didn‘t know what to expect, but enjoyed this. A bit sad, though:
This was a good, fast paced thriller. You really felt for the main character as he navigates the loss of his family. I have to admit I didn‘t see the end coming. I look forward to reading more from Finlay.
The premise of this book alone is enough to creep under your skin - a family featured in a true-crime documentary is found dead while on vacation in Mexico. While at first glance their deaths appear to be a tragic accident, a closer look reveals something more sinister at play.
Fast-paced & twisty, with enough going on to keep me guessing. A little far-fetched at times, but hey, this IS a thriller and I was happily along for the ride!
Okay. I tried to push on a little further. 40%. I just literally DON'T CARE about anything the characters are doing. ? Maybe it's just my current mood and wanting more from a book; it's not reaching me on any level. ? I'm moving it to the "probably won't finish, but maybe if I get really desperate" folder on my Kindle.
Idk. I'm at 37% and it's just NOT grabbing me. I'm not sure if it's just me that's a bit thriller'd out...or if it's just a blah book. And I don't really understand why it has to go back in time and give us the POV of the dead family?? 🤷 ...seriously thinking of setting the one aside for now.
A decent 4 star thriller. Kept me reading! Some good twists and turns.
I loved this book. Such a good, heartfelt thriller. Really connected with the characters and pacing of the book
Danny is in Jail for killing his girlfriend. And Matt is in college When his family decides to go to Mexico for a vacation Matt receives an unexpected call that his family has died and he needs to go there to identify their bodies. This book is filled with lots of characters and twist and turns.
Okay, so I LOVE me some book gossip. If you‘re in the “know”, you know that AJ Finn is a real douchbag (I don‘t have enough characters to discuss - go to Google) BUT there is a thread on Twitter talking about this! What if it‘s true??? 😄
I devoured this in four days. A teenage boy is accused and convicted of murdering his girlfriend, but his dad and sister never believed it, and a new clue emerges. Dad and sister foolishly follow the clue to Mexico, not considering that whoever might have framed their Danny might do anything to avoid the truth coming out. Danny's brother Matt, who thinks Danny is guilty, is left to try and figure out what really happened.
I have so many Thrillers and Suspense that I've been meaning to read, but somehow I'm never able to pick which one to read next.
So I grabbed on to this spinner idea I've been seeing everyone use, and I must say I enjoy the simplicity if clicking and reading ...😁
Up next...Ever Last Fear
This book was much better than I expected. Too many thrillers just don't live up to the hype. As with most thrillers, there was some lag in the middle but THAT ENDING THOUGH!! Agent Sarah Keller was the star of this book! Her evolution as a character was well done. Even though I think we're supposed to love Matt because his whole family is murdered trying to exonerate his incarcerated older brother, I admired Keller as she came into her own. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This thriller is the perfect listen while doing house chores. Good narration.
Well this was fun.
Not really the most thrilling of thrillers and had way too many flips between time and characters for my taste but it kept me interested
