Tricia and Ethan head out to see a showing for their potential forever home. What happens when stuck inside after a snowstorm strands them is anything but shocking. The twists and turns made me need to find out what was happening! I annotated this book in the beginning with my thoughts and boy I was off base! Good quick thriller about lies and deceit and the consequences. Characters did not have much growth and Tricia annoyed me but good read!
Freida has done it again! Easy read with twists. Can‘t give it away.
@MartinaLove Here are your picks for #TrappedInASpookyHouse. I must admit I got a little lost in the blurbs on your TBR. You have a very compelling list! Spooky reading!! May survival be ever in your favor 🪓 🎃
I absolutely loved this book! There‘s so much I could say but I wouldn‘t want to spoil it for anyone. I was hooked from the beginning and thought the killer was pretty obvious but I was so wrong! As usual, Freida put her brilliant spin on it!
Wow. This was so good! I love Freida McFadden's books (mostly), and this has been one of my favourites.
I thought I had it sussed early on, but I absolutely did not ? A novel packed with twists that you won't see coming a mile off, and that last sentence... well... ?
I was spouting to my friend that I "obviously" knew the big twist, but I soon did a Homer Simpson disappearing into the hedges when all was revealed ??
Suspenseful, mysterious, and a complete page-turner. I could not put this book down. It had me on the edge of my seat, turning page after page to find out what happens next. The ending? I was not prepared!
I just started this book. I like it. It‘s really good. It‘s my first time reading anything by this author. I‘ve only heard good things about her books. I want to see what the hype is about. This book isn‘t on my #bookspinbingo list but I can add it to a Free Space spot on my bingo board.
“It happened quickly. So quickly, I‘m worried he got too much of the Ativan. I ground up and mixed in with the Cheval blanc.”
(Sorry for filling up the feed, but I‘m catching up after the 2-week wait for the proper AC unit 🤪)
“I have never had a feeling this strong. Something terrible has happened in this house…”
Psychiatrist Adrienne Hale believes everyone is capable of lying, but can always tell when they do…or can she? Great thriller

My first time reading Frieda McFadden.
This was good! Very binge-able. A few things irked me (Adrienne is really stupid for an MD/PhD) the twists got CRAZY but it all worked.

Holy wow! This was a recommendation from my book bestie @The.Great.Catsby and it was an easy five stars. I love Frieda McFadden but this is by far my favorite read of hers. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I'm really loving Freida McFadden. I haven't read a disappointing book yet!
You knew something was weird from the first page - there was such an eeriness to it. Definitely not a wake up in the middle of the night and try to read a book to pass the time until you fall asleep book.
Loved it!!!

“Liars fidget. The tone of their voice or speech patterns changes. Liars offer too much information, babbling on with excessive detail to convince themselves or others of what they are saying.”
Thought I had this one partially figured out really early on, but it seems I got ahead of myself. Way ahead of myself. 😆 Truly, I started to think this was going to be just a meh read and not as good as her others, yet I'm here to say I was wrong. So wrong. 😝
The first I got this book from the library, I didn't finish it. I kept falling asleep. I guess it wasn't meant for me to read it then. I gave it another try, and oh boy, am I glad I did. It was amazing. You may think you know what is happening, but you are so WRONG!
1st book for #MarvellousMarch Readathon @Andrew65

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Freida read # 2📚while I enjoyed The Teacher slightly more, I have to admit this twist WAS a surprise. Another quick read. I thought for a moment that there must be something wrong bc the plot seemed painfully obvious but the end really did shock me! 😃 it‘s been a minute since a “lifetimey” thriller made me say wait whaaaaa???
Well, this one didn‘t disappoint. The second book by Freida McFadden I‘ve read and the second one I didn‘t like. ⭐️⭐️/5 only because it might have been less ridiculous with better editing, maybe? Am I the only one who thinks this?
4⭐
If you're in need of a quick, can't put it down thriller, then McFadden is your author!
She is very quickly becoming a favorite author of mine. The twists! I can't wait to pick up another by her.
My #52bookclub24 chart is going to be full of her titles!
This one takes place at an abandoned, snowed in mansion where a couple seeks temporary shelter. A LOT happens (and is revealed) in a few short days! 👀
I don't know what it is about this book, but I keep falling asleep when I read this book. I'm DNFING it
Tricia and Ethan are searching for a house. They visit the remote manor that belonged to Dr. Adrienne Hale, a renowned psychiatrist who vanished without a trace years ago. When a violent storm traps them at the estate, the house begins to lose its appeal. Stuck inside, Tricia stumbles on a collection of audio transcripts from Dr. Hale's sessions. As Tricia listens to the tapes, she learns about the events leading up to the doctor's disappearance.
This one kept me guessing until the end. It‘s designed to make you think you‘ve figured it all out just to take a completely different direction. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
4⭐️ A book club pick. Twisty. Book 3 of the year!
My last book of 2023! This was my 1st Freida McFadden book. I enjoyed the pacing. The reason that it‘s a so-so for me is that the big twist just didn‘t make sense. & for a long time you‘re led to believe one thing and it turns out to not be the case. I read online & a lot of ppl had the same reaction that I did. I also read that her other books are better and that I should still read those. I own a few more of her books so I hope they‘re good!
Another great book by Freida McFadden! I did notice some similarities between this book and “The Inmate” but it‘s quite the different story that keeps you guessing. I‘d venture to say the latter plot twists in the story are even impossible to guess!
