Wow, this was such a great thriller. This was my second Freida McFadden and it‘s so much stronger. The pacing is great and had me listening every moment. I had run out of Spotify minutes on a massive cliffhanger and had to wait 12 days to continue it, but it was so worth the wait. I finished it 24 hours after getting access again. Perfect for anyone who loves romance and thriller as you get a bit of both!
This was a big improvement over The Crash. I thought I had the twist all figured out but I was wrong! I wasn‘t a huge fan of the male narrator but I really enjoyed this. A fun and twisty murder mystery with one or two psychos along the way. 4⭐️

The Boyfriend was another fun McFadden whodunit. As usual, she kept me guessing well after I thought I'd figured it out. She has a real knack for writing these surprise endings. #audiobook
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Fredia McFadden has become another favorite writer of mine. I thought I had the twist figured out. In fact, I was sure of it... but alas, I was wrong. Her twists are so good. There was one hint about the person , but I completely missed it. 4⭐️
😊 Happy Reading 😊

Whoa…I did not see that twist coming! This is my first book by this author but it will not be my last!

This was actually my fave so far for Freida, except the repeat use of “incredefabulous”. It was also my very first kindle read ever!
Most of the time, the ending is what kills a book for me. In this case, I actually loved the way it wrapped up at the end! It had a good pace, and I think most people would enjoy reading it. Solid 7.5/10
Also, does anyone else love to have a little sweet treat while sitting down with a book? Organic skittles were the choice of the day 🤪
I spent my entire Sunday reading this book, and I‘m not mad at all. Another good psychological thriller from FM. Just when you think you‘ve figured it out, wrong there‘s an insane twist coming!! Book #5 in 2025
1-11-25: My 4th finished book of 2025! Frieda McFadden never disappoints. Sydney is looking for love on a dating app called Cynch. After a horrific date that ends with a mystery man saving her, Sydney embarks on something that feels real for one. Tom Brewer, who we learn a lot about in flashbacks, is a doctor who is sweeping Sydney off her feet after a brutal murder leaves her feeling scared and alone. Is Tom “the one”? The twist was shocking!
Book#2 for the year... Freida does it again!! Is it the boyfriend?? Too easy 😉
I couldn‘t put it down and didn‘t expect the twist at the end. I did feel the scrunchie hate was little dramatic and unnecessary 🙄 Scrunchies are awesome and better for your hair 😉 IYKYK
It was ok. I thought I had it figured out, but I was wrong-I did not see the twist coming. Even still, the story was lacking. I didn‘t like Sydney at all. Red herrings were thrown in left and right, and some were painfully obvious. Still, it was a quick read, and I‘ll definitely read more Freida McFadden. This just isn‘t her best.
One of Freida's best! I couldn't put this down!
I thought I had this all worked out... I absolutely did not 🤣🤣 that twist was fantastic!
This was so good!! Talk about twisted! I was convinced I had our culprit until about 2/3 of the way through and then something clicked and I realized I was completely wrong. I love that! I enjoyed this much more than The Housemaid. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I have a new blanket called Charlie who knows I go home today so is trying to prevent me leaving. That means I have no choice but to read a few more chapters of this thriller... it's pretty good, half way through and I am not trying to guess the ending

Well I didn't see that twist coming!
After all the hype, I decided to join the masses and see what McFadden is all about.
I enjoyed the story, but I found the writing to be a bit young - if that make sense.
It is however a compulsive and very quick read.
That's 4h07m towards #20in4 @Andrew65
And one book down for #SugarRush #ReadAThon @Bookwormjillk
This author doesn‘t disappoint. This is the 2nd book I‘ve read by her. I did the audio version, and both narrators were very good. The story kept me guessing right up until the end. Thrillers aren‘t usually my thing, but this book was an exception. I‘ll definitely be reading more by this author.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Couldn‘t put this down! I had to know how the two timelines would converge. I don‘t want to say too much, but definitely recommend this if you want a quick read where you think you know … but do you? 🤨 I feel like McFadden‘s writing has improved, too. That‘s not a knock, just as observation.
I‘m the only one awake. This never happens. 📖🎄☕️
Grabbing some chapters at basketball practice. Trying to ignore the squeaks and dribbles! 😂
Sydney Shaw, like every single woman in New York, has terrible luck with dating. But finally, she hits the jackpot. Her new boyfriend is utterly perfect. He's charming, handsome, and works as a doctor at a local hospital. Sydney is swept off her feet. Then the brutal murder of a young woman―the latest in a string of deaths across the coast―confounds police. The primary suspect? A mystery man who dates his victims before he kills them.
This was a quick and easy read. It was pretty predictable for me, until the twist at the very end. It was one of those great filler books between other books. A good palette cleanser.
Started my 2nd Freida McFadden, will be reading a few chapters of my paperback current reads (Good Omens, The Passage, Moxie) and cross stitch a bit.
not my favorite of hers but still delivered… #readinggoal #audiophile #readinglife
Omg What an amazing book. Absolutely loved it. So many twists and turns. What a great book 📖 🤓
Can I give this book 5 HUNDRED stars?
My favorite Freida McFadden book. This was a buddy read with @BookBabe2018 and we did not even come close to guessing the twist.
It was so good. An absolute ✨️chef's kiss✨️

Sydney was a likable character and I also liked her friends. The last part of the book was thrilling and I was scared for her - I have never imagined how thrilling a search for a scrunchie can be xD
I loved how this book kept me guessing. And how I didn't see the last big twist coming 😄 This was really intriguing read!
#LitsyLove
Although the MC was moderately annoying, McFadden knows how to write in a way that keeps you reading! Another easy, quick thriller. (48)
⭐️: 3.5/5
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Freida read #6 for me. I‘m surprised this was a BOTM choice. It was a solid 3 stars, read quick like all Freida‘s. Had a twisty twist like all Freida‘s, was slightly ridiculous…like all Freida‘s. She‘s entertaining and shouldn‘t be taken seriously. And can always get you out of a slump. This MC was def stupid 🥲
🎃 Not really. For work/ToT with my little I'll have my ACOTAR shirt and jewelry on but that's it.
🎃🎃 The most recent thriller I read was the tagged book by Freida McFadden, which I really enjoyed.

Listened to this on audio FOR FREE with Spotify Premium! Loved the narrators.
Loved the book! Found myself giggling and gasping out loud a few times. And of course… the twists! Freida is too good. Dual timelines, obsession, murder, hidden identities, modern dating struggles, and friendship.
4/5 🌟
3 Stars • The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden is a psychological thriller about Sydney Shaw, who begins dating Tom, seemingly the perfect man. The story unfolds in dual timelines: one where Sydney and Tom's relationship develops, and another revealing Tom's obsessive past with a girl named Daisy, linked to a murder. This book deals with themes of obsession, hidden truths, and the darker aspects of human relationships.
This was another five star read from Freida McFadden. I devoured this book in a day and a half and it was full of twists I never saw coming like a typical Freida book.
October 24, 2024 FINISHED ✅ Sigh Im just glad that Sydney is alive and did not get killed by _______ and Tom. Sorry not sorry. If you want to know who the blank is, you'll have to buy the book and fill in the blank. Goodbye
October 24, 2024 What the heck? What the hell? I can't believe that I just read what I read!!! There are so many twists and turns in this book. Who is the bad guy? Is it Slug (Tom's only friend)? Is it Randy? Is it Gretchen? Or is it Tom? I am not one to spoil the story. So PLEASE READ IT FOR YOURSELF I am telling you right now that you won't regret that decision. Oh, and I am on page 328 out of 359
October 24, 2024 Page 136 and Sydney has gone on another date, 2 months later after the death of her friend Bonnie, this time with a guy named Travis. Travis was not as attractive but he was an easy talker. During their date though, Sydney got a horrible nose bleed and Travis faints. Mystery Man runs over and asks if Travis is okay and he says yes. However, Travis gets up and leaves. Mystery Man sees Sydney and asks her out to dinner. He is TOM
October 24, 2024 haha 10/24/24 Um Can anyone explain to me why I have been breezing through this book? I am on page 118. Whenever I read a book by Freida McFadden, I feel like I cannot put it down. What a surprise... Sydney is trying to figure out who killed Bonnie her friend. Gretchen, Bonnie, and Sydney were best friends until Bonnie gets tortured and mutilated. The funeral occurs and she sees Kevin sitting in the back of the church. Was it HIM?
October 23, 2024 If you guessed this was my next TBR, you guessed right! If not, we are not friends. JK Anyway, I am excited and psyched (get it: pyschological thriller) to read a more up-to-date published book.
I am always leary of reading books by the "it" authors of the moment, but I still chose this for BOTM.
It was okay.
What I liked:
●I didn't see the twist until it happened
●It was a quick read
What I hated:
●The stupidity of the female main character
●That the made-up word "unbecredifabulous" was used three times
The author did a good job of focusing my attention in the wrong direction so I was completely surprised by the twist. Still, the female MC was such a ding-a-ling I (almost) would have been fine with her getting bumped off. A soft pick but not enough to search out more by this author.
I tried a few different books on my commute over the past few weeks that I just couldn‘t get on with on audio (Playground, Intermezzo etc) so I thought I‘d go with an ‘easier‘ listen.
This was going to be a so-so all of the way through because all of the twists were heavily signposted. But then they weren‘t. 😳 I didn‘t see THAT coming!
The female MC was so stupid though, and made terrible decisions, it drove me crackers. 🤪
Has a good plot twist I didn‘t see coming with Daisy
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Just when I think I finally have a McFadden book figured out…the last few chapters happen!!!!!!😱😱😱
Lots of twists and turns and surprises! Couldn‘t put it down!
