I just finished this book and I am obsessed. This was such a good book with mysteries and twists and turns. It‘s about a girl named Pippa who wants to solve a murder that happened five years ago for her senior capstone project.
I am going to the bookstore today to get the next book and I‘m going to watch the series tonight on Netflix.🤣
Extra bonus for voting early at the library.
Reward: bought a book at the library for $1.
Five years ago a high school senior disappeared. Although her body was never found, police decided that she was murdered by her boyfriend, who committed suicide a few days later. However, Pip - who is now a high school senior herself - has never believed that the boyfriend was the murderer. With the help of the boyfriend's younger brother, she sets out to reexamine the evidence. I really liked the format of this book, with parts of it Pip's notes⬇
DNF. Very young adult and overly simplistic dialogue. Did not hold my attention beyond the first quarter of the book
I had fun binging this Netflix series, realized it was based on a book and promptly placed a library hold. Apparently, 341 other people had the same idea. I‘d been watching my place slowly move forward. But look at me, I was 89 one night and winner winner chicken dinner the audio was ready for me to borrow the next day! I decided it would be good karma to listen and return in a single day. I liked both - the book a tad more.
“A Good Girl's Guide to Murder“ written by Holly Jackson is about a high school girl named Pippa Fitz-Abomi. This young girl is trying to look deeper into a mystery that happened to a girl at her same school five years ago. Andie Bell, a girl who had lots of popularity, was declared murdered. Along side Sal Singh, a suicide victim. Andie's boyfriend who was accused of killing her.
This is my October TBR for the #hauntedshelf. Don‘t worry there are a lot more coming, I am always up for more book recommendations. #FrightClub
4.25⭐
This was good and well deserving of the hype it has received.
It is a reticent mystery twisted up in the web of lies and judgments of a small town before a high school senior uses her senior project as a catalyst for hunting down the truth and exposing everyone who is at fault for wrongdoings revolving around the crimes against two students five years prior.
Grab your pins and red string to see if you can solve it before Pip does! I didn't
This book proved once again that I am not good at guessing mysteries! 😅 Spoilers: I was suspicious the entire time of the narrator, that her motives were off and she would somehow be involved. Just based on the fact that she was lying to her family and friends, breaking & entering homes, hacking social media… I thought she was suspicious. But I guess not! Still a great and enticing story.

The Netflix adaptation of the tagged has an absolutely killer soundtrack. These two tracks have been on regular rotation in my Spotify:

There is only one other book that I can think of that made me feel the way I was feeling while reading this book. I don't know if it was the writing or my headspace, but every time I read this, I was just annoyed. I hated actually reading it.
Because of how highly this book is rated, I'm nervous to give it a rating here. But I DNF'd at page 127.
Fun YA murder mystery!! Lots of twist. I love the way you get to try to figure out who the murder is along the way
Read this one a while back and remembered I enjoyed it. I have been hearing good things about the Netflix adaptation, so... here goes. I finished my final this morning for school, and now just have to wait till grades come in.

Oh my goodness!!!!! This book was absolutely fantastic, though I have an issue with max Hastings being blonde and tall cause that‘s hot.
HE‘S NOT HOT.
I just watched the series too and I‘m obsessed!
Would 100% recommend for anyone 11+. Maybe younger or older.
I loved this series and I‘ve already blown through the first 3 episodes!
Eek!!! I‘m so excited to watch my favorite YA book series turned to TV series!!🤩🤩
This is a request to the UK/GB/England Littens who would have access to the original English version, where the story takes place in England.
My friend @CKBrooke really wants to read them in their original version, meaning not the USA edition which changed location and some other details.
We‘re willing to pay for the UK editions and shipping.
Please, comment if you‘d be able to find and ship these books. Thanks a bunch!
This whole trilogy was really good. In the first, there were one or two things I would have changed. The second was just great. I spent most of the third yelling at Pip in my head. But if you like true crime pods, definitely give these a shot.
🤓💻⏳🔦🔪🚬🔑✉️📌🔍… yes, yes, yes. The most unpredictable mystery ever🫣
Halfway done, my version of top read 2024.
Never expected that it'd be so hard to decide the best book for each month, but I'm still excited to do more for the rest of the year! 🎉

A good YA mystery that is being enjoyed by many teens at the moment. Fast paced but a little bit unrealistic. But as it‘s a book that is getting reluctant teens to read….it‘s a ‘pick‘ for me!
This one reminded me more of One of Us Is Lying more than Nancy Drew, but I‘ve heard the comparison. A fun mystery, but forgettable. I don‘t feel pulled to try the next book in the series. I liked the main character‘s drive, though her motivation was misguided. As is the case with many amateur detectives, she doesn‘t seem to think through her actions before she barrels forward into danger. Good twist and turns though!
Books I read in May:
🎁 The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris
🎁 Cat Stories by James Herriot
🎁 A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
Honestly, it's hard for me to pick the top read for last month. But I decided to pick the third one because of all the twists, the satisfying ending, and dare I say: the ravishing Ravi Singh--I love them all! ❤
Can't wait to watch the series adaptation on July! Hope it'll be as great as the book.
Book 41 📚 4.3⭐️
Definitely my favourite HJ book yet! Excited to read this series.
For Pips senior project she has decided to review a closed murder/suicide case from 5 years ago involving 2 students from her Highschool. But she doesn‘t believe Sal did it, and she‘s determined to find out who did.
I read this a while ago and forgot to post about it. I wasn‘t expecting to love this book as much as I did. It was far more complex and interesting then I thought it would be. The characters were some of the best ones I‘ve read about, they have so many layers to them. I‘m so excited to get into the next book!
The last person to see Andie alive? It had been Becca. It had always been Becca.
My daughter is willing to try this as a summer buddy read with me. Looks like a good pacey vacation YA thriller. Plus it‘s a trilogy, in the event we like it.
I‘m still working on my son to pick a book ……🤞🏾
Pippa “Pip” Fitz-Amobi has decided to perform her Senior Capstone project on the disappearance of Andie Bell, a high school senior presumed to be murdered by her boyfriend Sal Singh. Not long after Andie went missing, Sal killed himself and confessed to her murder. However, Andie‘s body was never found…

This book was well-thought out! The twists and turns will keep you guessing up until the last chapter. Can‘t wait to read the next books in the series.
4.5 stars. This was amazing! I loved it. I absolutely thought I knew what happened, I did not!
LOVED this book! Can't wait to read #2!
This was a pretty good read! I loved the main characters and the plot line. It felt like it went so quick too! Now onto the second book. #murdermystery #crimebooks #agoodgirlsguidetomurder
"A Good Girl's Guide to Murder" by Holly Jackson. 9,8/10 rating. I found this book fascinating and really gripping. I almost literally couldn't put it down. The story seems to go one way... then another... and then abruptely changes again with one hell of a plot-twist. Amazing. Recommended for 15 year-olds and older
5 years ago a girl vanished from her small hometown and her boyfriend seemingly committed suicide and was thereafter blamed for the girls presumed death. Pippa doesn't believe the BF did it and sets out to find the truth with some help from his brother. Pip reminded me a bit of Nancy Drew: smart, focused, courageous, determined. My sign that I'm a bit old for this book ⬇️
Got the box set for Christmas so excited to read it! Supposedly, it‘s a YA mystery with a little bit of romance
Technically a #reread, but I remembered next to none of the details and was awed all over again at how tight and eerie this mystery is. We love to see a smart girl win! #yalit #yamystery
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ such a awesome book! She describes the characters so beautifully and you never suspected who committed the crime. Overall wonderful book!
Don‘t think for a minute that because this story is centered around a high schooler that you won‘t get an absolute gripping mystery. My jaw DROPPED!
Picked this up in advance of a 10-hour flight. It was a fantastic light read, while still telling a very engrossing story, and was well written. The ending felt a little bit like an after school special (not a spoiler; just my opinion), but that didn't ruin the experience for me at all. #booktenof2023

Very fun mystery. I liked the mc a lot, even when she was making dumb decisions.

I was just sitting reading my book, and my Henry (8) comes over, looks at my book then at me, and asks "are you going to murder someone?" Apparently he thought it was a how-to book. ?
