Soooo excited to see this coming to Netflix! #page2screen #childrensbook

We have a book basket that I put seasonal books in and I just added new beers to celebrate Women‘s History month. Ada Twist & Mae Among the Stars (she‘s 5 and says she wants to be an astronaut) are my daughter‘s absolute favorite books. My husband is a scientist so we try and add books about women scientists. #Integrateyourbookshelf

I love that this book shows a little girl as a scientist. I also love that it shows how her curiosity leads to using science to find the answer to her questions.

“Ada Twist, Scientist”, RF, is written by STEM advocate Andrea Beaty. It is a New York Times Bestseller. This book can be used for good partner reading or as an introduction to an Author Study. The main character is Ada Twist, an inquisitive little girl. She spends her days asking questions and coming up with solutions to not-so big problems. However, she is met with a challenge and depends on her passion and her family to push her to keep on!

Ada Twist, Scientist by Andrea Beaty and illustrated by David Roberts is an incredibly entertaining SF read for students in any elementary level. It promotes curiosity and wonder in the most creative way possible. The perfect teaching strategy for this must-have book would be CR. All students will enjoy this wonderful book, but students who particularly love the STEM subjects will feel identified with little Ms. Ada Twist. #UCFLAE3414F19

Yay for girls and science! I love that this book celebrates curiosity and the illustrations are great. I do wish the story had a bit more to it, but still a great message.

After seeing a few other Littens post about this one today, I wanted to read it too. Luckily I found it on Libby, so I didn‘t have to make another trip to the library. Loved the illustrations in this one, especially since Ada Twist has a feline sidekick. 🐱 #BBRC #a2z #Picturebooks @LibrarianRyan

First in #BBRC challenge, picture book #A2Z :A this lovely book about a young curious girl, destined to be a scientist. This would be lots of fun to read aloud to a group, and then ask listeners to point out the many details from the illustrations.

I missed out on these, which were published a few years after Maya stopped reading picture books. An excellent STEM #picturebook featuring girls in science, told in verse and quite captivating. The illustrations show lovely detail if you look closely: Ada matching numbers to how many appendages an animal has (she gave an 🐘 5, including his trunk), blocks with chemical elements printed on them, etc.

Ada Twist is a curious child who wants to know how the world works. She asks questions upon questions, and leaves a mess in her wake. Her parents wish she would give it a break! But in the end they understand they have to feed her curiosity not crush it in their hands. An amazing rhyming picture book that will inspire anyone to ask questions like a scientist.

Again I love seeing this pop up because as a future teacher it is important to support and hear our students out, even if they have asked why a million times!

I didn‘t know that this book had brothers and sisters! Rosie Revere is something we read in our Play and Creativity class and it was very inspiring as well as this book!

Published in 2016 and illustrated by David Roberts, this modern fantasy tells the journey of a young girl who is destined to explore the world. Although one might not classify this as a modern fantasy right away, the reader can see that the story is logical and consistent with the framework Beaty has created. This story is so relatable when you see such a curious child because as a future teacher i‘ve encountered many kiddos who always ask “why?”

This was perfectly adorable, and I‘ll definitely recommend this one to kids and their parents! Excellent early STEM story about encouraging your inquisitive kids!

My favorite in this series, easily. Ada is quirky and smart and inquisitive and frustrating, and her great parents are trying their hardest to deal with a good, but not always easy, kid. After reading this to my 9-year old, we have determined that she now has another possible career path - scientist. The other is philosopher. The kid questions everything. Her entire life is an existential crisis. So we get Ada in this house.

All scientists should have a cat sidekick

Picked these up from the library this past weekend to read with my 10 yr old daughter. I wanted her to know there's more out there for women than just being a singer or model (not that there's anything wrong with those careers). She enjoyed them and I absolutely loved them. You're never too old for picture books!

I'm so enamoured with this series! And I just realized the hardback versions of both Ada Twist and Rosie Revere are less than $7 on #Amazon right now!!! The stories are great and the illustrations make me so happy 😍 it's interesting to read that Beaty decided to write about Iggy's classmates after seeing the amazing illustrations. Ada Twist, Scientist is a SF book. It is about a little girl who is so curious about the world around her and she is always asking questions and doing science experiments. I think this book is a great RA so teachers can show it is important to ask questions and learn about what is happening around you. this is a cute story about a curious little girl named Ada. kids will love the funny pictures, and they'll get a giggle out of Ada's investigation into a yucky smell. the teacher in me loves the science vocabulary used throughout the text, and I can see how the book would lead to a great discussion about what scientists do. I'll be adding it to my classroom library! #teachersoflitsy

We were fortunate to meat Beaty today in Edinburgh! We love her rhymes and message! Also recommend Rosie Revere, Engineer!

These books are just a fabulous fun time. This one does not really have a proper conclusion as Iggy Peck does, but it still works. Ada is a WHY? Girl. She wants to know WHY stuff happens. #IllinoisReads2017

Both my 3.5yo and my 7.5yo LOVE this book!

Happy Ada Lovelace Day littens! I think she would have loved this book, partly named in her honour. My little people certainly do!

Rosie Revere & Iggy Peck finally get a sequel. Ada Twist was preordered for months -- what a cool scientist she is!

This may be the best picture book I have read this year. It's a cool series in the first place but this is my favorite of the three so far.
