Fortifiedbybooks Has anyone read the tagged book? I don't think King wrote it, but it's based on Wastelands.

JulAnna @DGRachel I think it is funny—how preferences vary— this is probably my least favorite of the Dark Tower books, with the exception that is does introduce Oy. So worth it to continue on, though -my favorites of the series are still to come! 🤓 4y

I ended up loving this series. I admit the first two books I didn't like very much. I loved the third. The seventh was a good ending to the Tower series. There were quite a few deaths, two of which about did me in. More about those in the comments ⬇️☠⬇️ #epickatet #epickatetread

BookwormAHN Okay so Jake's and Oy's death about killed me, especially Oy's. Could King have made his more horrible. Poor little guy 😿 5y

KathyWheeler When I first read it, I was so mad with how it ended, but I‘ve since come to see that the non-ending makes sense and could even have been predicted given the whole “ka is a wheel” thing. Then, also, this time around, it looks like Roland‘s story might end differently as he has the Horn of Eld for the first time. 5y

Karkar I did not like the first two books either the first time. However once I went back and started them the second time they were so much better as you pick up little bits that you miss the first time. 5y

BookwormAHN @KathyWheeler I wonder if he had paid more attention to the different rooms in the tower that he could have found other things to help his chances of ending it. Although in the first book when he is having his palaver with Walter, he does tell him that they have had this conversation before. So the ending was entirely shocking. 5y

KathyWheeler @BookwormAHN He probably could have, but he was so focused on the one goal that he didn‘t pay attention. Oh, if you read them again, the audiobooks are a good way to do it, if you lime audio. (edited) 5y
