I still don‘t fully get the prompt for genrebusting if this counts or not but it‘s sort of a fantasy, historical fiction/ romance with lots of unanswered questions and a timeline that‘s all over the place but either way I really liked it and loved the characters. @Cinfhen @BarbaraTheBibliophage @4thhouseontheleft #booked2019 #summer #genrebusting

Cinfhen Sounds #genrebursting to me!!! I started this book years ago but never finished it 😬I‘ve always meant too 6mo
Boooooks @Cinfhen thanks for getting back to me, i get why you put it down it‘s very slow on the plot but I loved the atmosphere 6mo
Cinfhen I fell in love with the cover ❤️ 6mo
BarbaraTheBibliophage I agree with the genrebusting. Good job! 6mo
Boooooks @BarbaraTheBibliophage thanks I‘m trying to get back onto the booked prompts and hopefully catch up a bit 😂 6mo

Just finished the brilliant, original #genrebursting novel. A flawless blend of fact, fiction, imagination, grief and paranormal this story centers on young Willie Lincoln, Abe‘s son who has passed away at age 11. I switched between print & audio and have to say both were perfection. The full cast was especially rewarding. I get why this book earned so many accolades and awards 🙌🏻 Using for #Booked2019 & #Pop19 #GhostStory

LeahBergen I went to hear him read from this book and he had several local “celebrities” on stage with him to make it a full cast. It was so cool! I, of course, haven‘t read it yet. 😆😆 I can never read a book in the midst of all its hype. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I should be safe now! 7mo
Cinfhen Im not sure why I waited so long either @LeahBergen but it really lived up to the hype for me 🙌🏻 7mo
TrishB I just didn‘t like it, or get the hype! All different readers 😁 7mo

Cinfhen That‘s funny @TrishB I would have thought you would have liked it. 7mo
TrishB I just didn‘t like the style - felt like it was more important than the actual story and it just annoyed me. 🤷‍♀️ 7mo
Theaelizabet I loved it. Read it and listened to the audio, which was a tour de force. 7mo
BarbaraBB I‘m with @TrishB on this one! 7mo
TrishB @BarbaraBB 👍🏻 funny how these things go! 7mo
BarbaraTheBibliophage So happy you loved it @Cinfhen. You and another friend just read it. Now I‘m thinking about listening on audio since I read it the first time. 7mo
CarolynM I'm in the style over substance camp on this one too @TrishB @BarbaraBB 7mo
Cinfhen I get what you‘re saying @TrishB @BarbaraBB @CarolynM but for me it was such a unique reading experience and I appreciated all the research that was done and how he so seamlessly crafted it into the story. Memorable 7mo
Cinfhen The audio takes it to another level @BarbaraTheBibliophage I may be able to share my audible with you xx I put my account on hold for June & July so I need to see if I‘m still able to share from my library 7mo
Cinfhen Amen to that @Theaelizabet 🙌🏻❤️ 7mo
DebinHawaii I read it during the hype. 😉🤣I listened to the audio book as well and really enjoyed it--the full cast was amazing and I loved the creativity. 7mo

This was quite the ride! It had me questioning, wondering, cheering and groaning as the story went along full of ups and downs, dilemmas and difficulties. I hadn‘t guessed the ending, and while the ending felt a bit rushed, it didn‘t ruin my overall enjoyment of the book 👍

#Booked2019 #Genrebusting

Ashley_Nicoletto I lovedddd this one. I felt like it got so many meh reviews and I couldn‘t understand why. 8mo

LibrarianRyan That cover is so much better than the US cover. Our cover is boring. 12mo
Cinfhen Have you read it @LibrarianRyan I‘d be happy to send it to you after I‘m done!!! And the endpapers inside are gorgeous too❤️❤️❤️ 12mo
LibrarianRyan @Cinfhen I have a copy upstairs from the publishers. It‘s just white with black font. Quite boring looking but I thought it sounded interesting so I kept it. 12mo
Cinfhen If you decide you want my edition it‘s yours @LibrarianRyan but I‘m gonna find other books to share with you 😘 12mo

Heavy Bear | Tim Bowling

Pickpick

This slim book knows no genre. When I first cracked Tim Bowling‘s poetic middle-aged reflection, I was skeptical. Hints of magical realism reveal themselves from the start, just as the journey begins. The protagonist (named for the author) spends a single day wandering in and out of present reality, his experiences—real & imagined—mingling to highlight poignant reflections. 👇

saresmoore This is somehow almost equal parts biography, memoir, social commentary, poetry, and novel. It‘s super-introspective and wholly unique and I loved it. ETA: This is a hard one to review! I recommend checking out @Lindy‘s posts in the feed for the book title. 😊 (edited) 12mo
saresmoore This is “Related to a Podcast”, as @Lindy discussed it with @ReadingEnvy many moons ago! #Booked2019 @Cinfhen @BarbaraTheBibliophage @4thhouseontheleft 12mo

Lindy Ditto what @TrishB said! 12mo
TrishB @Lindy I‘ve also stacked to try and look for a cheap copy, it‘s not cheap on amazon. 12mo
LauraBeth Yes, please! 📚🙋‍♀️ 12mo
saresmoore @TrishB It might be available on Book Depository. If not, I would be happy to send you a copy! 12mo
ReadingEnvy 🥰 12mo
Cinfhen This sounds like it would work for #genreBursting as well😻 your review has sold me too!!!! 12mo
TrishB @Cinfhen I was thinking that! 12mo
TrishB It‘s still (cd on book depository, is it me or is that still very expensive for a paperback!? I don‘t pay that for hard backs. 12mo
saresmoore @TrishB It‘s much cheaper for me via BookDepository in USD for some reason. If you‘d be so kind as to email me your mailing address, I would love to send it to you! saraesmoore @ gmail 12mo
saresmoore @Cinfhen Yes, it would definitely work for that! I hope you like it. It‘s an odd and quiet book. 12mo
TrishB Thank you so much 😘 just emailed 12mo
saresmoore @TrishB Your email didn‘t come through. Would you mind trying to send it again? My email address has an extra letter in it (my full first name): SaraESMoore 12mo
TrishB It had been returned....doh.....hopefully gone through this time and hopefully I haven‘t sent a blank message... 12mo
Lindy @TrishB @saresmoore Sara, have you already purchased a copy for Trish? I picked up one yesterday at my local bookstore. 12mo
saresmoore @Lindy It is already on its way! 12mo
Lindy @saresmoore Excellent! 12mo
TrishB @Lindy @saresmoore how exciting 😘 12mo
Lindy @TrishB I look forward to your thoughts on this. And if you like it, he has written many others. 12mo
TrishB @Lindy I‘ll have to have a look round. There is only one other on amazon U.K. and it‘s only 80 pages and is (ce!! He obviously doesn‘t sell well here....or just not imported. 12mo
Lindy @TrishB I expect to pay CAN$20-25 for a trade paperback at my local book shop. (That‘s 11.5-14.5 in pounds sterling.) Fortunately, most of my reading material is from the library. I only buy a couple of books each month. 12mo
TrishB @Lindy ? wow- that‘s expensive for here....I would expect 3 paperbacks for (cd!! I buy a lot....I couldn‘t fit in constant visits to the library. I do get a lot of #99ponkindle offers! 12mo
Lindy @TrishB In New Zealand, new paperbacks are about NZ$30; I‘m glad I don‘t have to pay that very often. It‘s hard for publishers in small markets. 12mo
TrishB @Lindy gulp! Pretty lucky here then.... 12mo

The Fact of a Body: A Murder and a Memoir | Alexandria Marzano-Lesnevich

Husband stuck tape on my handlebars so I could try to #kindlecycle. Works pretty well. Have to make the font huge though. 😂🤓

I'm on the fence about this book. Picked it for #booked2019 #femaledetective but I'm finding it unsatisfying. It's a bit of a slog because the topic--child abuse--is so hard to read about. The writing itself is a treat, the content is depressing. But I'm 200 pgs along & invested now so I'll push to finish.

Cinfhen Uh oh!! Was hoping to read this for #genrebursting 🥺 12mo
Penny_LiteraryHoarders I thought she mashed two completely different books together. I would have been fine with just her memoir aspect. 12mo
valeriegeary @Penny_LiteraryHoarders I felt the same way. 12mo

One of the best sci fi books I‘ve ever read. So well thought out and meaningful. Every few minutes I was like ‘wow a time travel book can make me think about THAT‘. Rufus was deeply disturbing and frustrating, but that‘s more a fault of history than the book, he was sadly realistic. My one criticism is that the white peoples accents sounded really odd to me in the audio, but maybe I just don‘t know these types of American accents.

Cinfhen Hoping to read this book next year for #Booked2019 reading challenge 13mo
Emilymdxn @Cinfhen ooh what prompt? 13mo
Cinfhen #PocParanormal does that work??? 13mo

arlenefinnigan Would definitely work for #PoCParanormal, I read it for the #ReadHarder challenge of a sci-fi novel by a female author with a female protagonist. Loved it. 14mo
CoffeeAndABook Both the book & the bookmark are so *pretty* 🎀 I‘m sipping my morning coffee ☕️ & sending you a smile 😊 hope it‘s a good day 😘 14mo
Cinfhen I‘m really shocked @GatheringBooks it usually takes a solid month and that‘s if I‘m lucky!!! It‘s mind blowing how fast this one arrived!!!!! 14mo
Cinfhen You‘re not mean @TrishB you‘re smart!!! Now I‘m just pissed at my friend because she‘s insisting she returned it!! 🤬🤬😡#NotTrue 14mo
Cinfhen Hi @CoffeeAndABook I‘m good!! How are you??? Jet lagged ??? And thanks for the morning smile 🥰🥰🥰 14mo
Cinfhen The flip side of the bookmark says please share with a friend and it has a space to write a friend‘s name with a message!!! But it‘s too cute to share @TrishB @Velvetfur @Texreader 💕💕now who‘s the mean one??? 14mo
Cinfhen I was hoping someone would say this works for #Paranormal 🙌🏻💕 thanks @arlenefinnigan 💚💚💚 14mo
CoffeeAndABook @Cinfhen Yep, im STILL jet lagged, even after a week 🙄 why does it take so long? But the trip was worth it!! And being in Germany in December is one of my secret pleasures, dark, cold, wet & cozy & christmassy 🔥🌟📖☕️ ⬅️ this is supposed to be hot spiced wine 😉 So I‘m fine 🤩 14mo
Cinfhen Jet lag can take up to 2 weeks @CoffeeAndABook so just go with it!!! Glad you had an awesome time 💕 14mo
LauraBeth If this fits, I may read it as well! 14mo
4thhouseontheleft Definitely a 👍🏾👍🏾 for #PoCParanormal! 14mo
ElishaLovesBooks I read this and remember loving it! I think I want to reread it! 14mo
BarbaraTheBibliophage I was going to say it‘s more #genrebusting than #paranormal. Because to me, paranormal is more creatures and beings than time travel. But it‘s a fine line, and I‘d say go with the majority opinion. I hope you enjoy it! 😘 14mo
LibrarianJen I agree with @BarbaraTheBibliophage I think it‘s more genre busting. The book is about so much more than time travel. It could also be about civil rights, slavery, women‘s rights, historical fiction, etc. I feel you can‘t box it into one category. 14mo
saresmoore Less than a week?! That‘s gotta be a record! 14mo
erzascarletbookgasm Yay! My orders take between 6 and 8 weeks! Sometimes I forget what I ordered and when my books arrive, it‘s like surprise bookmail! 14mo
Cinfhen I know!!! I was shocked @erzascarletbookgasm @saresmoore but a book I ordered like 3 weeks ago still hasn‘t arrived yet 🤷‍♀️ 14mo
Cinfhen Lots of different opinions @LauraBeth so I‘ll read it and decide later on what prompt to use it for!!! I like having options @LibrarianJen @BarbaraTheBibliophage @4thhouseontheleft @ElishaLovesBooks if you read it again that would work for #pop19 too!!! (edited) 14mo
kellyann28 Jotted this down for planning my #Booked2019 list. Thanks ;) 14mo
