This book is a childrens fiction book that was published in 2001. It is about a town that does not have a turkey for their thanksgiving so they go to find one by saying they need a plump and perky turkey to model for their art contest. The turkey ends up out smarting them and the people never get their turkey. The students in my classroom thought it was funny but i prefer not to do anything turkey related for thanksgiving.
1. Avoid Thanksgiving events as not even Prof‘s mother can figure out that no, vegans don‘t eat tiny pig flesh sausage chunks in stuffing.
2. Stuffing, but just stuffing stuffing, no added sausage chucks & lawd forgive, raisins. What planet are you from, lady? 😒
Hope you all can tolerate my wry & dry sense of humor. 😉

I grabbed this at the book fair knowing my teachers would be asking me for Thanksgiving read alouds at the last minute. Pilkey is a genius and harkens to the famous scene in Charlotte's Web with the ax.The kids answer the call to action and Thanksgiving becomes again a vegetarian feast, because who can eat anything so fictitiously cute? Put down your 🪓 hatchets and let's celebrate a feast on Thursday for the purpose of peace.
