I know this is fantasy, and I know this is young adult. This gives the author free reign to create a fictional world and incredibly unique characters. But, honestly, some sections of this book read like someone having fun stringing words together. There is a story. There is a world. And there is substance. But some of it is just a little too much. Anyone else feel this way? #whatdidIjustread #newdimension #fantasy #mixedemotions 🤔😱

You better buckle in, gang, because this. Is. One. Wild. Ride. There are several jaw dropping moments, and it really makes you think. If you‘re looking for a book that‘ll kinda mess with your mind then you‘ve found it! 4.5⭐️

Nope.
I dont know what the hype is about with this one. I felt like it was the slowest start ever, dragged on and was not very interesting until the very end.

Not a good first impression of Stephen King.

GarthRanzz 😔 As big a King fan as I am, I‘ve never made it past the third book in the series. Never even finished it. This series, even though it features Randall Flagg, just never grabbed me. But please don‘t give up on him? Do you like horror or something different? (edited) 2y
aevrabel @GarthRanzz I like pretty much everything. I like suspense, thrillers, mysteries, etc. The only things I'm not into are tons of blood and guts (I can deal with a couple deaths but not like every page) and zombie/vampire.I still want to try other Stephen King books. The hulu series based on his book 11/22/63 has peaked my interest in his work. 2y
GarthRanzz That‘s a great book to pick up. Definitely one of his best in the thriller genre. The Bill Hodges Trilogy (Mr. Mercedes) is another good one. 2y

DGRachel @aevrabel @GarthRanzz I think the third book of this series is where I got tripped up, too. I‘m not sure if I finished it or not. My favorite King though is The Eyes of the Dragon. I‘ve read it several times. ❤️ 2y
GarthRanzz @DGRachel Oh, I was going to mention that one too! It‘s time for a re-read but I‘ll wait for the #LosersClub to get to it. 😊 And its another appearance of Flagg! 2y
DGRachel @GarthRanzz I haven‘t read much of his work. I tend to struggle with the pacing. I bailed on It. I haven‘t officially bailed on Duma Key, but I‘m only about 100-150 pages into it and haven‘t picked it up in months. In fact, I think Dragon, Gunslinger, and Drawing of the Three may be the only novels I‘ve finished. I hope to read The Shining with the #LosersClub, though. 2y
GarthRanzz @DGRachel Duma Key was good but it did take me a bit to get into it. But I‘ve only read it once. And I hope you do try to read a The Shining with us! It will be a great read. 2y

This book was definitely interesting, watching the twisted way all of the characters react to the world is definitely unique. I could have skipped this one honestly though, it just seemed a little much #bookclub #booksandbeer #whatdidijustread #bookworm
