Bingo, but barely. Just finished Mindy Kaling‘s book moments ago. The Change was my favorite. Love that #bookspin and #doublespin were in the same row! Now onto April‘s list. #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks
I feel like ambiguous endings are a litmus test that I failed lol. On occasion ambiguous endings can add complexity and be so thought provoking they leave your mind blown (The Life of Pi) but often they just leave me feeling baffled and unsatisfied. To Paradise was the latter for me. HY‘s prose is beautiful and moving, but overall this book (or these three books ambiguously wrapped up into one) missed the mark for me. #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
If The Bachelor had this much diversity I might actually watch it. A delightful queer romcom with accurate mental health representation. Definitely a pick for me.
Part self help, part memoir, but in true Michelle Obama fashion, all parts classically beautiful.
Sunday afternoon with Michelle Obama and Maximillian 🐶
Celeste Ng knocks it out of the park with this dystopian novel that hits a little too close to home. Ng beautifully and eloquently tackles difficult topics including racism, oppression, censorship, and the government separating children from parents as a means of control. This book resonates so profoundly with current injustices in our country that I wasn‘t sure if I was reading dystopian fiction or the evening news.👇
Yikes! This book is so well done, the characters are abhorrent, the plot is disturbing, and I couldn‘t put it down. Think Pamela Smart meets Annie Wilkes from Misery. 🤯
I‘m a sucker for all things time loop/time travel and this book did not disappoint. Engrossing and tugged on my mom heartstrings a little.
I read this book on vacation, It‘s been on my TBR shelf forever. I didn‘t realize it was going to be a heart-breaking, gut-wrenching, ugly cry kind of book (or I might have saved it for when I was home). I cried on the plane, I cried on the ferry, I cried on the beach. It is simultaneously the saddest and most beautifully written book I‘ve ever read. I don‘t know what to read next, I feel as though I‘m ruined for all other books.
4/4 books completed, and so close to finishing the tagged book, but can‘t keep my eyes open another minute. #jubilantjuly @Andrew65
How I felt yesterday reading Book Lovers at the DMV 😳
This is my third TJ Klune and I‘m obsessed. I‘ve loved every book I‘ve read so far and can‘t wait to read more. This was completely not what I expected, and unlike anything I‘ve read before, in the best way possible. Like if Recursion and The Host had a love child it would be this book.🤯 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #jubilantjuly @Andrew65
Two books down this weekend for #jubilantjuly readathon. I really enjoyed both. Jar of Hearts was creepy and dark with lots of plot twists, I couldn‘t put it down. Long Way Down is beautifully written in verse, I can‘t stop thinking about it. Also unputdownable, read it in one sitting. @Andrew65
I wanted to love it. And there were parts I loved, but there were parts I didn‘t. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Lin-Manuel Miranda and I could literally listen to him narrate a dishwasher manual and be happy so it‘s a soft pick for me.
This book (much like Cerulean Sea) was like wrapping yourself up in a soft blanket in front of a fire in a cozy cabin. Are all his books this good? Any other other TJ Klune reccomendations?
A little late posting #bigjunereadathon stats because of the busy holiday weekend. 9/10 books read including the tagged for the #chunksterchallenge2022. So many good books, and definitely the push I needed to catch up on my #tbr. @Clwojick @Amiable
Oh my gosh! Is Will Smith famous? If you didn‘t know before, you definitely will after reading this memoir. I listened to the audiobook, and in typical Will Smith fashion it was entertaining. I did enjoy it, and while he spent a lot of time tooting his own horn, he was also authentic and vulnerable. Overall a pick. #bigjunereadathon @Clwojick
Sci-fi time travel pandemic book? If anyone can pull it off it‘s Mandel. Love her. #bigjunereadathon @Clwojick
Well written and a quick read. 12 year old Edward is the sole survivor of a plane crash. The book weaves two story lines together; one detailing the moments leading up to the accident, the other about Edward‘s journey as a survivor. #bigjuneteadathon book 5/10 @Clwojick
Love this beautifully written coming of age story. And I learned a lot about the history of South Africa during WW2. #bigjunereadathon @Clwojick
Better late than never! #bigjunereadathon goals:
-Read 10 books
-At least 2 books from my ever mounting TBR shelf (and by shelf I mean bookcases)
-Finish I Know This much is True #chunksterchallenge2022 @Amiable
Lofty goals, but who doesn‘t love a challenge?! @Clwojick
Love is not strong enough for how I feel about this book. Beautifully written, artful, and quietly heart wrenching. A story about love, relationships, and loss that‘s left me with a hole in my heart and a #bookhangover like I haven‘t had in a long time. 💛
Definitely not what I was expecting after reading Guncle, but I was pleasantly surprised. I cheered, I sobbed, and I held my aging pup a little tighter and a little longer.
I don‘t know why it took me so long to pick this book up, maybe the size? But I‘m absolutely loving it so far. Thanks for the recommendation @Alfoster @Amiable and I think this qualifies for the #chunksterchallenge2022
LOOKING FOR RECOMMENDATIONS. It‘s literally been years since I‘ve posted anything, but I‘m home sick and looking for something to binge read. Here are some in my TBR, but I also have a kindle and an Overdrive account so open to any and all suggestions.
#BFCr4 check in. I‘m finally starting to have some relief from back pain. Revising my goals accordingly. I‘d like to try and get 60,000 steps this week. Try one yoga class. And make time to go to the chiropractor. Stepping up my reading goal to 3 books this week. And getting back on track with calorie intake. Side note, this book is so well done and trauma informed. Everyone should read it.
Still struggling with back injury, which is miserable and frustrating. But counting short walks with the pup as exercise until I‘m feeling better.
#BFCr4 Not a great week, due to back injury. I pulled a muscle, so I didn‘t meet my step/exercise goals, but on the bright side, it did give me more time to read. Hopefully getting back on track this week. @MatchlessMarie @wanderinglynn @erinreads @AsYouWish @Bookwormjillk
#BFCr4 #audiowalk with my pup. No one can make you fall in love with a character like Backman, or break your heart like Backman. At least I‘m getting my steps in while I sob. 😭💪💔 @wanderinglynn @MatchlessMarie @erinreads @Bookwormjillk @AsYouWish How‘d everyone do today?
#BFCr4 @MatchlessMarie @AsYouWish @Bookwormjillk @erinreads guess who was up and at ‘em for 5:00am boot camp? Happy Monday! Go team!
@wanderinglynn thanks for including me so last minute! Just the motivation I needed to get back on track! ❤️💪
Everything‘s better in the sunshine. ❤️☀️
“Mommy, when are you coming back?”
Yup, that pretty much sums it up!
“Where are you going? What are you doing? What are you eating? Can I have some? Can I sleep in your bed? Can you get me a snack? I‘m hungry. I‘m thirsty.” #momlife @TheReadingMermaid
