I knew going into this that it was going to be wild from start to finish. I decided to just go with it and have a great time. I wasn't disappointed. The stories are fun, silly even. The author is highly entertaining, I expect nothing less from them. I've gone through it a few times, but there are still so many more options to explore.
The Goblin Teen desperately needed a haircut and I desperately needed a book to read during said appointment, so I borrowed this one that the Girl Child just got for her birthday. Cute idea - not my thing, but 💯 perfect for teens and college students! Go find the online game, too!
“thy wit is a very bitter sweeting; it is a most sharp sauce” Wish this book was available when I took English Lit. #chooseyourownadventure #shakespeare #24b4monday
Ok #LMPBC #GroupU, what about this book? It's been on my shelf for forever! I think it might be fun to see each others choices! What do you think?

Loved this show - so much fun and so much glitter! Brilliant ending to this year‘s West End pilgrimage. 🤩(And, speaking as someone who had to do all of Shakespeare at uni, I agree, Romeo is a douche with no upper body strength...)
Since this is told in a non-linear format AND I‘m the kind of person who likes to know when they‘re done with a book AND I‘m an office supplies geek (and a Post-It Notes (R) freak in particular)... 😜
Been enjoying my can o' wine and Shakespeare In Love, a particularly fun play to watch just after finishing Romeo and/or Juliet. But just after the second act started, it started pouring rain suddenly and we're now paused huddling under the sound booth overhang. In probably seven years of going to Shakespeare in the Park this has never happened to us before!
Very fun Choose-your-own-adventure Shakespeare with tons of Bard in-jokes. I'm a completionist so this involved lots of book marks and multiple fingers holding spots to try and make sure I found all the endings. I especially loved the side quests into other plays or characters, and my fave was getting to be a noir detective as Rosaline (proving she had much better things to do than hook up with Romeo when he was pining for/stalking her).
Almost through playing as Juliet in this choose-your-own-adventure but first a drug fueled dream side quest (into a Midsummer Night's Dream apparently).
Choose your own adventure Shakespeare, and I just unlocked a side quest as the nurse! This book is so much fun!
GREEN! I only had a small stack of green books in my bedroom. Most of my books are un the basement and I didn't have the energy to get a stack from the basement. Daisy and I took a walk today and she let me take her picture.
1) Done!
2) My niece mispronouncing “popsicle.” The p was replaced with c - hilarious as you can imagine.
3) 🧐 This is a hard one. Maybe Italian.
4) I only know of my cousins on my maternal side: I‘m fairly certain I have 13...ish. 🤣
5) thanks for the tag @Lizpixie I‘m not sure who hasn‘t done it at this point but feel free to use my post as an invitation to do so! ♥️

#MarchIntoThe70s Day 26: Fats curated this list of books inspired by #RomeoAndJuliet. This is only a sneak peek of some of the titles she included here: https://wp.me/pDlzr-hUP
A bit much, but fun nonetheless.
What‘s interesting is when I went through as Juliet, I maintained my independence, never winding up with Romeo, even as I explored other options.
But when I went through as Romeo, I wound up with Juliet, successfully, with no need for anyone to die.
The nurse path is super-annoying.
And I think there are a couple other paths I didn‘t stumble on. I‘ll keep this around and pick it up again to see where else I land.
Even as Romeo, it‘s so easy to escape death! What was wrong with Shakespeare???🙄😏
First pass through this “choosable-path” version is successful! (And also, not unlike my actual life 💁🏻♀️)
Went to the book depot on a whim and this looks friggin delightful. The illustrations are worth the price of admission alone.
I‘ve never read a graphic novel but this looks fun #classictographicnovel #maylovesclassics #litsyclassics
A delight. I played through a few different times, then I just flipped through reading the endings and whatever else caught my eye. I loved the unlockable playable character and other Easter eggs that I‘ll spoil in a comment below, for anyone who‘s curious.
#AdelesMayMashUp Day 9: One of the GatheringBooks ladies, Fats Suela, who works as a circulation asst at the Ohio Library has created this list of star-crossed lovers in novels for our Contours Of Love reading theme first quarter of the year - perfect as well for #CrazyForYou prompt. This book was hilarious and I had a lot of fun reading until several different endings I generally don‘t like choose-your-own-path adventure books, but this one is an exception.
Hey Litsy, did you miss me? Reorganised my shelves before I put up my tree 😊

Already falling behind again, though in my defense I had DnD and a dentist appointment on Wednesday,
Have enjoyed tooling around with this book, though I took it off my "Currently Reading" list because it doesn't seem like the kind of book you just up and finish.
Oh Romeo! Maybe this one will be good. 😉

Have any of my fellow Littens read this book? Would you recommend? Please let me know. ☺️
It was witty and well written and I loved that North added his own spin to these characters by giving them modern traits and dialogue.
My only problem with this is that after 20 path selections, I ended up repeating the same path and getting the same ending and it became tedious because it's a 400 page book and I was stuck with the first 100 for path selections.
I love you, nutty Ryan North. Mostly for dinosaur comics, but this is impressive. I had to cave and get this off Amazon at the realization that this huge choose-your-own adventure will take ages to complete. #shakespeare #remixes
This is AMAZING. If you like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Dinosaur Comics, Nimona, Lumberjanes, Homestuck, or Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, this is a must read. Also features art from super awesome web comic artists and graphic novel artists.
OMG look what I found at my library?!? Didn't know these types of books were still being written.....
I'm a sucker for these chooseable path adventures!!
You guys remember those?
It's not that this was necessarily bad but there is NO way I can figure out how to read all the possible paths and because of that I can't count it (in my heart or mind) as a fully read book. I so rarely bail on books I can tell you the last time I did was about 3-4 years ago. It's so hard for me to bail but I have to, I cannot put anymore effort into this one.
I met him at Awesome Con in DC this weekend. According to the postcard, he said it was nice to meet me! 😁😁😁😁
Eh. Ehhhhhhhhhhh. Ehhhhh. That's basically how I feel about this. I was absurdly excited to read this since last year, and I finally got my paws on it last month.........but ehhh. The author was trying way too hard to be funny and amusing and witty. I hate when authors do that. Funny writing is organic, not ~lets see how many ridiculous things I can cram into a paragraph because oho I am so amusing~. WOW, I'm disappointed.
Shellie of books to read next for #riotgrams day 1
Choose your own adventure books stress me out a little, but there were definitely some fun paths and endings in this book. If you like this sort of thing, go for it! Otherwise, I'd say do this one in small doses as a palate cleanser. More opinions and discussion on the podcast! #EclecticReaders #playingcatchup
My new favorite Shakespeare adaptation. Ryan North might be the funniest person to rewrite a tragedy.
New #EclecticReaders episode is out! What makes a good retelling, and the best paths in Romeo and/or Juliet! EclecticReaders.fireside.fm/35
I first went through the "spoiler" path, which I enjoyed - I liked the humour and North's style. I then did the "secret character" path, which I also enjoyed. But then I did a couple Romeo paths and a couple Juliet paths and it started falling flat for me. So... not sure. Maybe choosing my own adventure just doesn't work for my linear personality. (But the @EclecticReaders episode was great! And so is this dark basement simulator.)

The robots were weak.
No, but seriously. I think I was expecting Shakespeare fanfiction, with a few stable plots, and a heavy dose of comedy. Instead I got a comedy book loosely based on Shakespeare and with few true plotlines.
This book did get me to chuckle a couple of times, but ultimately, as someone who loves Shakespeare (even if R&J is my (2nd) least favorite play) this just wasn't for me.
Episode 35 is out #EclecticReaders! We discuss what makes a good retelling of a classic story and why some are more successful than others! Plus, we deliver a little love (and shade) to Ryan North's "Romeo and/or Juliet".

This. Book. Is. Hilarious.
Settling down with this before the @EclecticReaders episode on it comes out. I have no idea how to go about reading this. Do I read just one path and call it a day? Do I read a couple? Several? As many as I can? Suggestions welcome (embraced, actually...)
Some parts were really funny but I felt like there were too many choices and too little "meat" as most of the time you'd only read a sentence or two before having to choose yet another path. I was trying to read as many endings as I could in a short amount of time for book club & I think that took away some of the fun. If your read little chunks of this as a pallet cleanser between your other reads it would probably be more enjoyable.
I was pleasantly surprised with this book. It has many many endings and while many of them are just plain silly, it was fun. I recommend this book if you like the Bard but aren't a rabid fan. 3.5/5 stars
Mini library haul and afternoon coffee to help me get through this long Monday. Adulting is 👎🏼
Hi, Littens! I'm still alive! I'll catch up later, but for now, here's a preview of the next #EclecticReaders podcast episode, coming your way next week!
