pick🦇🥰 Nothing like reading a couple adorable #picturebook (s) about bats after finishing a horror novel. Bats at the Library holds a special place in my heart but Stellaluna is so sweet, and so beautifully illustrated.
Starting my 9th year as the librarian here. Still unpacking from the remodel just before covid. Finally have an alphabet! Let's hope the double sided tape holds.

Couple things about this photo : notice the craft eye stuck to my 3 year old‘s foot. Secondly, I‘ve been having a lot of conversations lately about the idea of opening my own bookstore; talking about the good that a well run bookshop can bring to a community. Watching my kids play bookstore this morning has reminded me that they‘re watching and listening. I‘ve got to live my best life and hope they‘ll see me and do the same.
Some people just don't understand we are closed... I guess they just love books so much 🤣😍. Our brother caught this little visitor while he was working on our awning this morning. We love bats, so have no fear this little one will soon be rescued and set free in the wide world to find more books.

Day 7 of #riotgrams - #mylocallibrary ?? I'm spoiled for choice with 3 library cards. Technically, NLCL is my "local" but hard to visit due to their hours and my hours not matching up (nice romance section tho ??). I use @iowacitypubliclibrary for pretty much all my library needs with C'ville as backup. PLUS a few years ago the 3 libraries pooled their resources to create Digital Johnson County so we have a sweet ebook/e-audiobook collection.
