5⭐️I loved it and devoured it. NA fantasy Romance with light spice and a bad ass FMC. Enemies to lovers, found family, slow burn, who touched you are just a few of the best tropes. While I would have loved further exploration into the magic system, the magic itself was amazing. This was my #doublebookspin for last months #bookspinbingo.

Oh this was a good one. I'm not overly familiar with high fantasy so not sure it would be considered that but I love the magic and world building in this one. There are new editions of The Kingmaker Chronicles out this year. The 1st book is out now. I love this series. This new edition has added Griffin points of view at the end of the book.😍

Why I adore this entire series: The EPIC banter. His self-assuredness and single-minded pursuit. Cat and Griffin are an OTP unlike any other. They push each other's boundaries, fight for each other, have raw, painful conversations and an intense connection they cannot deny. Their love story is about accepting your partner's foibles and knowing that flaws are intrinsic, and appreciating them. Their love is unconditional and awe-inspiring.

I've been trying to get my hands on a physical copy for months and it finally arrived in the mail today. 🙏

Hoping to finish this book today. Its such a fun quick read.

I finally got out of my reading slump from quarantine. Wasn't sure what it was until I found this book again. I'd been wanting to re read it and lost it but as soon as I found it after four months my slump was broken and read it in a day and finished a couple other books in the following few days.

Loved this. Heroine hiding her past and magic is kidnapped by a warrior who wants/needs her (and her talents). This novel has a greek mythology backdrop, and is full of action and slow-burn romance. Recommend.

Cat was a strategist with powers given to her by the gods one minute, and acted much like a spoiled brat the next. So of course the older warlord fell for her. Not a bad read, entertaining enough. Also, while not a cliffhanger, ending was an obvious setup for book two.

Ahhh vacation reading! Brought along the King Maker trilogy as my fun, on vacation, fantasy romance reads. The first book did not disappoint. Cliched? Yes. Follows a romance formula? Yes. Enjoyable? Yes! This is light reading but with an interesting fantasy world and fun characters. The romance is, as noted, predictable, but it was still good. It‘s not a terribly steamy book - I think my recent YA reads were more risqué - but it worked. #vacation

A series that started strong but sadly did not deliver on the #Promise by book three. 😫

Was having reading ADD this month and was having trouble settling on books. So I only got 9 in. (Also has a lot of stuff to do for my brothers wedding this month, which was Friday).

Woo! Made my reading challenge goal for the year!! (In September!)

Ahh this book was amazing! I picked it up because I was in the mood for a fantasy and this one is a romantasy, which I had never read before.

I stayed up until midnight Monday night reading and then all I wanted to do was read today and finish it.

I can‘t believe the way it ended and I immediately need to pick up the next book in the series!

This was the exact kind of book candy I was in the mood for. Did the lady protest too much? Yes, but it was a fun fantasy romance that I plowed through in two days. I liked that the world building was based on Greek mythology. I can't wait to dive into the next book.

My #TBRjar seems to be in a romantic mood lately! This one was surprisingly good! A bit shaky at the start but I have to say I got really invested. Although the use of Greek gods and mythology in a fantasy world that had nothing else to do with Ancient Greece was...odd to say the least. Still an exciting and entertaining read and I'm looking forward to book 2!

Not what I expected. But after an emotionally draining week and needing pure escape, this was perfect! An entertaining heroine, Greek mythology, romance, fantasy. Totally a win for me.

I know I'm late to the party on these books, but this was FANTASTIC. If you saw and loved Wonder Woman, you will absolutely LOVE this book. Kick-ass, snarky heroine who is part goddess, wrapped in a world based on mythology. Holy moly, the world-building!! #romantsy #romance

This was fun! The fantasy elements were entertaining, and I enjoyed all the characters as well! The romance got romancey more quickly than I would have liked, and I never super love when the guy is that possessive (and, in my opinion, a bit pushy!) but the characters were for sure likable enough to carry the story. I'll read the next one, which I happen to already have from the library. #romantsy

Day 9 of #Riotgrams: Author Who Shares Your Name. So jazzed to share the name Amanda with this author as her debut novel was my favorite read of 2016!

Goodreads' list of the #BestDebutsOf2016 included this, one of my favorite reads of the year! This one didn't win the Goodreads award, but it got my vote!

I really enjoyed this fantasy romance! Yes, there are some problematic parts that got this mixed reviews (most notably a kidnapping at the start of the book) but this is a classic fantasy story of a reluctant hero(ine) in a world I want to keep reading about, mixed with a romance story. The world building incorporates Greek mythology, which is unusual. I am going back to the bookstore to buy the sequel, and I will likely eventually reread this.

I need to pick up the sequel, pronto! 🏃🏻‍♀️💨
