Interesting take on Christie's inspiration for her famous novel

I find the subject of Agatha Christie‘s mysterious 11 day disappearance fascinating so I will probably read ALL the books on the topic. The Christie Affair doesn‘t come out until February 2022 so I‘ll have time to tackle the other two first.
Just received my final #sfmbc package from @MaleficentBookDragon , thank you so much for all the extras! I am looking forward to coffee and cookies while diving into these books 😊
@Avanders
A good imagining of Agatha Christie and what followed after her divorce.
I enjoyed this. It's fiction, but (very) loosely has a factual base. As in Agatha Christie really rode the Orient Express. And her 2nd husband is in this book.
Meh. Melodramatic dilchwater characters, largely focusing on poor relationship choices, and framed with blatant emotional manipulation. I liked reading the historical, multicultural setting -- lots of details! -- but was bored with the lily-white cast.

This book had some interesting parts but in general just a mediocre story! Diverse characters and wonderful descriptions of the countryside and cities that the orient express passes are the best parts of this story. The pace was a bit slow for me.

A favorite #female author of mine is also one of the biggest selling authors of all time (Agatha Christie has sold 4 billion copies and counting!)
The tagged book is a fictionalized account of the wonderful Dame Agatha‘s journey she took on the Orient Express.... I recently picked up the audio version on sale after seeing some great reviews on GR....
Let‘s address this mess. I haven‘t unpacked my bag from staying at my parents a week ago. My son is sleeping. I *should* do this now but I really want to keep reading 😍 this book is awesome!
Even though it took me 28 years to get to my first Agatha Christie novel, Ms. Christie has long intrigued me. Ever since I read about the real-life gone girl I‘ve been meaning to read her works and read about her! So after finishing Murder on the Orient Express, I dived head-first into this one. After this I have a few booklet obligations to read but I plan to tackle a biography perhaps next? Any recommendations for Agatha Christie biographies??
Loved the mixture of real life and fiction together to form an awesome story!! Definitely worth the read!!
Never done a #stats post before! So, obviously, my personal challenge for next month is to up the number of authors of color and to actually research for LGBTQIA authors. #readingresolutions @Jess7
Also! Speaking of resolutions, I made it one whole month of completing the photo challenges! 🎉 One resolution down, one to go!
I enjoyed this one! I liked how she tied in the facts of Agatha Christie‘s life with a fictional story, it was fun!
Listening to this at 1.25x speed is part funny, part amazing. I don't often speed up books but it has taken me 5 hours to get through chapter one because of the pace.
This book is about Agatha Christie when she took a train, The Orient Express from London, England to Baghdad in 1928. A lot of the story is fictionalized but some if the facts are true. I think the author did a great job with researching Agatha Christie. I know there are a lot of Littens reading Agatha Christie right now, I think this book will be a great addition to add to your TBR‘s. I gave this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
An entertaining and clever novel that blends the dramatic, adventurous real life of Agatha Christie with a fictionalised storyline. I was surprised that it wasn't really a mystery but Ashford's descriptions of the settings are vivid and lovely and the plot intricate and interesting enough to keep the pages turning nicely
A little late to the game, but I couldn't pass up playing TBR Bingo!! Awesome idea! 📚 @WhatDeeReads #tbrbingo
I hope this helps me get through some of my (massive) TBR list. 👍 Oh, and already I'm almost finished my first book on the grid! 😬

A little fictional Agatha; perfect flying book.
I am a huge fan of Agatha Christie, so this book was perfect! It's a fictional account that takes place during the period of time between the end of her first marriage and her second marriage. Set on the Orient Express and in the Middle East, this book was a great read.
Beautiful lunch with a great book. Love summer holidays. ❤️
Starting this on my lunch break, it's been on my TBR list for a while now. #Readingandeating
I liked the idea for this, but it was a bit dry and confusing in parts. I wanted the plot to be more compelling than what it was and there were a lot of characters to keep track of. But, overall, I did like the characters and the story. It was just okay though for me.
I really liked it…a bit of speculation at the end. FYI, don't look up the characters on Wikipedia until you are done with the book.
Really enjoyed this one! 4/5⭐️ Now I feel like I need a good biography of Agatha Christie! Any recommendations?? 🤓
I truly enjoyed this book. The story appealed to me as a reader and also as an armchair traveler. Following along on Agatha Christie's adventure on the Orient Express and parts beyond was a wonderful treat.
What a mesmerizing novel. Artful blend of fact and fiction, revealing the "what ifs" in a brilliant authors life.
April is the hottest month in Costa Rica. May marks the beginning of the rainy season and thus the best weather to stay home and read. I am starting this new audiobook :)
Great view from where I am working this week but 14 hour days = very little reading and zero Litsy time 😢. I did however manage to finally finish Woman on the Orient Express. I was expecting a mystery since Agatha Christie is a character. I kept waiting for something to happen and it never did! I did enjoy it however. The relationship between the three female characters and their relationships to the men in their lives kept me reading.
Mrs Christie disguises herself as "Miss Miller" and rides the Orient Express to Baghdad in 1928 after an acrimonious betrayal and divorce from husband Archie...
Early morning traveling 😖The tagged book is an excellent distraction from the airport chaos
Audible Daily Deal! I've heard great things about this book, so I purchased it today. 👍
A lovely audiobook. Justine Eyre has a lovely British lilt that made listening to this fiction blended with facts about Agatha Christie's life when she boarded the Orient Express following the divorce from her husband Archie.
Hahaha, seeing all of your #LitsyAtoZ books is making me realize how badly I'd fail this challenge! So far I have read SEVEN books starting with W or H this year. 😂😂
It is pretty well known that I am a total Agatha Christie fangirl & her books are a big part of why I love reading so much. So when I heard about this title, I immediately added it to my TBR list. I absolutely loved it! It manages to blend Christie's real-life story with a fictionalized account of her friendship with two women seamlessly. The characters were wonderful. The setting was beautiful. Simply put: I couldn't put this down.
Going to start this audio tomorrow on my drive into work. I love the cover of this one! I love the premise of the story too and can't wait to start it.
Ugh- I can't seem to shake this cold and just have to return to work tomorrow. At least I've gotten a jump start on my new year's reading. Next up is this ebook that looks fun.
Hanging laundry on the rack in the garage and listening to this one! It's fun. (And it's super rainy here - an unusual way to start the new year in AZ!)
I read this and enjoyed it. It's a great deal at $1.99 on Kindle (or free in kindle unlimited) with the audiobook at $1.99 too. (Read my review on the book's wall) https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01D1LNYWK/ref=mp_s_a_1_fkmr1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=14818... Thanks to @r3ad3rsan0nym0us for the heads up!
For book based on Agatha Christie it has a scandalous lack of mystery. However, the drama was great and the story progression was very solid. If you liked Downton Abbey, you'll like this book. I'm only rating it as so-so because of the lack of spine tingling mystery when the plot is all about Agatha Christie on the actual Orient Express. C'mon, man!!!
This historical fiction falls squarely into the genre of "women's fiction" in the best way: it explores the relationships between women, their connections to the men in their lives, and ways to deal with grief and loss. A good amount of historical detail, a vividly drawn setting, and an interesting characterization of A. Christie as a scorned wife dealing with her ex-husband's remarriage make this novel notable enough to overlook the pat ending.
A conversation about marriage, on the eve of one character's wedding, as she talks with a newly divorced Agatha Christie and another woman who abandoned her marriage and is secretly pregnant by her lover... not hearts and roses, is it?
Sunday afternoon: Pumpkin cheesecake, coffee, good book, Top Chef, and @WanderingBookaneer 👍🏼😍❤️️
I'm enjoying this historical novel with Agatha Christie as protagonist 👍🏼
Next up: this historical novel featuring Agatha Christie as a newly divorced woman who decides to travel incognito to Baghdad on the Orient Express... and of course, this being the master of the mystery novel, our protagonist finds a few mysteries on board to keep her occupied, such as, was that really her ex-husband whom she glimpsed on the train? And who is that girl weeping in the dining car?
