Lucy Snowe is not a kick-ass, badass, rah-rah #heroine. She's just plain, shy, introspective, deeply observant, intelligent, sensitive & ill-adjusted to life. I just feel her & feel for her so much. This book is like the spiritual sister to Dostoyevsky's Notes from Underground. No enforced positivity or redemption; just human psychology at its most brutal & mysterious. #maylovesclassics @Sarah83 @Bambolina_81
Can‘t believe I forgot to post this! #duh
Many thanks to @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks and @ForeverNerdy for their cards and beautiful bookmarks! I love the quotes on each side, Misty, and Krista, it‘s so pretty. And it‘s my favorite color too!
Thank you so much, ladies! ❤️❤️

This is the longest novel I ever read. 1448 pages! A whole 500 or so more than Anna Karenina. I enjoyed every moment - although it took me a long time. It follows four families over a couple of years and one is trying to find their daughter a suitable boy to marry. It was 20 years ago that I read it but I remember I felt very drawn in to the domestic worlds of the families. If you #lovebigbooks try it!
I read this for my classic lit book club. It is much different than all of the movies, although the 1994 version with DiNiro as the monster is closest. (We watched it at our meeting.) The book was interesting. I thought Frankenstein made some pretty bad decisions. He made a lot of his own problems! #duh This was my F for #LitsyAtoZ #classics
Enjoyed this recommendation from my coworker after having read the Upside of Unrequited. Didn't figure out it!! #duh
You guys. 1984 is really good. #duh #likeyoudidntknowthat #doubleplusgood
UM. I'm watching HGTV as I get ready this morning and on Custom Built they just did a custom reading nook and I'm DYING! How amazing is it?!
The American was tying his tie as we both watched the reveal, and I guarantee he saw the look in my eyes.
"I'm leaving before you start knocking down more walls, " he said, kissing me and walking out.
"A reading nook wouldn't need walls knocked down!" I called after him.
How did I not know that you can change the narration speed of an audiobook. My life is forever changed. #duh #audiobook
