Overall, I liked this series opener featuring a book town, mysteries, and a cozy murder. As other reviews have indicated, the author‘s choice to describe an off page character with a non-PC description is jarring and makes me wonder why. However, I felt for the MC who had a contentious relationship with the sheriff and a sister who high maintenance comes to mind. I plan to read more in the series. #192025 #2008 #52BookClub23 #SetInAWorkplace
Chaplin hanging out with some of the books I plan on reading this Fall! 😸🍁🎃💕📚 #catsoflitsy #littenkitten #chaplin

I think this is the first time I‘ve panned a cozy but it had to be done. I found the MC to be rude, judgmental, and extremely snobby. She referred to her employees at many times as “the help” and wouldn‘t wear her bookstore‘s aprons so she wouldn‘t be mistaken as the “help” and at another point got huffy when another character took her to what looked like a rundown crab shack for lunch. The kiddo and myself are getting some pages in while waiting for the International Day parade to start! It‘s the official kick off to boat week that my city does every year to celebrate the start of the Port Huron-Mackinac Race. So many people come to see it that we‘ve had our chairs holding our spots since before noon!
Phew - back from a few days with sketchy WiFi. I‘m giving this a so-so - I figured out the killer early on and the reference to a child with Down Syndrome as ‘retarded‘ turned me off. But, another state finished! #ReadingUSA2019 #NewHampshire

My #JolabokaflodSwap is open and I can‘t wait to try this collection out! Thank you @MaleficentBookDragon for your kind package. I am so excited to try this mystery series, it‘s a genre I really want to get into! And thank you for all the fun chocolates, I love trying local chocolates, and local in an area I don‘t ever get too is even better!
I've been on a real audiobook cozy mystery kick lately! This may not have been the best cozy, but I nevertheless enjoyed the mystery, the characters, the interplay, & the pace. The schtick: a small town in NH commercially revitalized around the concept of used bookstores of all types--our protagonist owns the mystery store. Fun! I was not shocked by any reveals, but enjoyed the puzzle... I wasn't 100% right, but enough.. 😜 I'm definitely onto #2!
April 17: #AprilInBooks— Characters who love books; I have a whole shelf devoted to bookish cozy mysteries... I love these bibliophilic detectives 😜😜
Heads up, I'm over at @Librarybelle 's latest post recommending all the bookish-themed cozy mysteries I know! Just in case any of my followers want some fun book theme mysteries to read. I figured it would be easier to just direct you all over there instead of making my own post and retagging them all again 📚
THIS BAD GUY MADE ME SO MAD >:O also I wanna pet the shit out of the main character's cat omg her cats name is Miss Marple how cute!! #ilovecozies
MY OWN BOOK THAT I OWN AND AM NOW READING FINALLY FOR ONCE that I picked up tonight and whoops accidentally read until 1am 🙈 #ilovecozies
It‘s Friday and I‘m reading some cozy crime. Always looking for a new series to read, but I have my suspicions I already know who dunnit and I‘m worried about stupid cop syndrome...
Finally found some time to read!!! 💛
Finished listening to this today. It was pretty good. Trisha recently moved to a small town that is full of specialty bookstores. She opens a store called Haven't Got a Clue. Everything happens at once. Her sister shows up deciding to move to town, her neighbor is found dead and the sheriff blames Trish, and someone is putting flyers for a nudist resort in books. Cute cozy mystery. I've already got the 2nd audiobook downloaded.
I'm really enjoying this book. I'm still in a general reading slump. This is all I've read last week and this week. Work is looking up so hopefully this weekend I'll be more interested in other books.
Trying a new book. Cozy mystery this time which I have not read.
#lovetohate I have posted about this series before. Everything about this cozy mystery series should be a book lover's dream, but the main character is awful. She is judgement, obnoxious, and snooty. Ugh! #booklove17
I went on a cozy mystery books about books binge. Turns out I don't care for cozy mysteries much more than I care for regular mysteries. It was entertaining enough, and I'm sure is quite a good read for the target audience.
Technically listening to it. @Litsy can we add an listen to button for audio book.. #suggestions
Thank you so much @MaleficentTheBookDragon for this wonderful gift!!!! I cannot wait to cozy up with my new tea cup, blanket and a good mystery!! ☕️📚❄️🎄#secretsantagoespostal
Thank you @BookishMarginalia for setting this up!! It was so much fun! 😁
Sunday morning snug in my bed with a cozy mystery - my plan is maximum relaxation today 😊
Often you read a mass market mystery book & it's just bad. This wasn't a situation like that, luckily. I don't feel a desire to keep up with the series but it wasn't BAD. You figure out the killer fairly quickly but it kept my attention & was all about a book town so I can't complain. My 1 read over Labor Day weekend for the #bibliogiveaway Alas, getting a house ready for a baby takes up a lot of time 😳 he's cutting into my reading time already!
I can't believe it's already #day27 of the #augustphotochallenge! Up until very recently, I only read one book at a time. But I've started to expand my #currentlyreading list and I'm enjoying it! I think it helps that each book is a different genre. I'm determined to finish these books by the end of August, except for Moby Dick which I'm reading via Serial Reader. #augustofpages
After a long, on-and-off rainy and generally crummy day, this book is exactly what I needed. It's everything you look for in a cozy mystery: easy to read but hard to put down. Sprinkled with classic literature and mystery references, a nice relaxing read.
Having a hard time putting this down!!! Murder mystery for the win
A very cute read that goes well with my tweed dress but not so well with my low tolerance for white people problems. I do want to shop in this fictional bookstore though.
