Here are some statistics I tracked for my reading in 2021. The audio books definitely got me through the year.
Sorry these are kind of hard to read! (The exporting from Excel is not great. Or, more likely, I don‘t know what I‘m doing.)

I‘m sharing my July Reading Stats from the Storygraph app. I‘m finding it very satisfying to look at my stats every month. It‘s interesting to see which genres I‘ve read more of and which genres I want to read more of. I like to read different genres but I‘m finding that there‘s some genres that I don‘t read a lot of.
#Bookly Weekly Reading Report
January 31 - February 6, 2021
Wow! I really slowed down last week. The only two things I went up on were number of quotes I added and the number of words I added. No big deal — it‘s not a race, it‘s supposed to be fun.
I love reading and I love statistics, therefore, I ❤️ #Bookly. So much fun. https://bookly.app.link/j8sgEcFkccb
This is the first time since lockdown were I felt I read at nearly a normal rate for me. Still days were work exhausted me that much I couldn‘t really read at night, but overall much better.
I have some time off at points in August so hopefully will carry on 😁
End of June reading statistics as well as 2nd quarter statistics. Pretty slow month for me... but I‘m excited about a lot of books for July!
My #FebStats:
11 books, 9 fiction, 2 non-fiction.
Best - difficult to say as several 5⭐️ reads for different reasons. The last few Morse novels were Colin Dexter at the top of his game, The Book of Echoes is a stunning debut from Rosanna Amaka.
Worst - The Dilemma was awful.
Shockingly bad diversity with 8 British white male authors, 1 American white male, one British white female and 1 British female PoC.

So here are a few of my stats of 2019. In the next days I will put my favorite books of the year.... #goodreadsstats
#2019stats
5 of 5: BOOKS BY PUBLICATION
So this spread remains largely consistent year-to-year. I do love reading new releases. But I would like to improve that pre-2000 number this year.
How was your reading year?
#2019stats
4 of 5: BOOKS BY RATING
Exactly 50% of the books I read this year were 4-stars, which is actually kind of great. 4-star books are really good books, and I had a bump in 5-star reads as well.
(On Litsy, for me, books with 4 or 5 stars get a “pick,” books with 3 stars are “so-so,” and books with 1 or 2 stars get a “pan.” That means 65% of my 2019 books were picks!)
#2019stats
3 of 5: BOOKS BY GENRE
Two jumps in this category, in nonfiction and graphic novels. I am pleased with both developments. In fact, this year‘s ratio of genres is about exactly how I prefer it.
#2019stats
2 of 5: BOOKS BY OWNER
The trend of me buying less books continues. Actually, I haven‘t run the exact numbers on my buying, but I am absolutely leaning toward borrowing most books before considering buying them. (In 2015, 88% of the books I read I owned and that number has fallen each year since.)
Happy New Year, Littens! I love tracking my reading stats and comparing year to year. So, my next few posts are a look at my 2019 reading by the numbers.

1 of 5: BOOKS BY FORMAT
This year saw a huge jump in my audiobook consumption. I do not know why, other than I spend a lot of time in the car and have access to great audiobooks through the library. My ebook ratio was about the same, but the physical books dropped a ton.
April was a hard month. My reading pace slowed, and I‘m behind on #LitsyLove replies. Hopefully, I‘ll feel better soon and can get back on track!
I finished 7 books in April:
Ebook - 6
Audiobook - 1
I have 2 in progress that will carry into May.
I finished the #mmdchallenge this month. #modernmrsdarcy
I read 3 books for #Booked2019.
33/52
#aprilstats
#marchstats
4 ebooks
3 audiobooks
1 DNF
I‘m also making good progress on #mmdchallenge and #Booked2019! #modernmrsdarcy
I think I am doing quite well until now 😍😍😍💕💕💕
#2018stats
5 of 5: BOOKS BY PUBLICATION
I‘ve only tracked publication dates for the last two years, but I was surprised how heavily my reading tends toward the new and the shiny. More than 90% of the books I‘ve been reading have been published in the last 20 years. In 2019, I want to increase the ratio of older books.
#2018stats
4 of 5: BOOKS BY RATING
My ratings tend to naturally fall along these same ratios year after year. For me, 5-star books are usually amazing or life-changers, which are rare, 4-star books are great, which are most of what I read, and 3-star reads are so-so, which are not uncommon. I rarely finish 1- and 2-star reads.
(On Litsy, for me, a “pan” is a 1 or 2 star, a “so-so” is a 3 star, and a “pick” is a 4 or 5 star.).”
#2018stats
3 of 5: BOOKS BY GENRE
Nonfiction used to be consistently less than 10% of what I read. I specifically set out to change that and am happy it was a quarter of my reading this year. My YA reading has changed a lot too. At the height, it was around 25% of my books read, but I prefer it to be a much smaller portion of my reading life.
(I did not separate out graphic novels or poetry in years past.)
#2018stats
2 of 5: BOOKS BY OWNER
This is one area of my reading life that has shifted substantially over the last few years. I used to like to own every book I‘ve read. In 2015, 88% of the books I read I owned. I‘m pleased to see that this year, for the first time, most of my books were borrowed, either from the library or from friends.
I love tracking and reviewing statistics about my reading each year. So the next few posts are a look at my 2018 reading by the numbers.
#2018stats
1 of 5: BOOKS BY FORMAT
As you can see, I naturally read about the same ratio of book formats year to year. I just track this particular data to observe, not to change my behavior.
Have you all seen this new stat section on Goodreads My Stats page? Month by month bar graph of how many books you read and if you click any bar, a handy pop-up of titles comes up! (And look you can see exactly where I had horrible all day morning sickness and too exhausted to read when I was last pregnant in 2015 😂)l

I brought far too many books this month...I need to retire and get reading my tbr!
I think I did 9, or 11, books in June. I look forward to read Even more in July 🌞
Finished my last June book on train yesterday.
An interesting month - my kids picked all month. Half of them had been on the tbr for quite a long time!! And they didn‘t let me read a thriller until nearly the end of the month 🤷♀️ they obviously have something against them!!
Not as much as I thought. Then again, I haven't counted how many books I started in March. 🙈
#MountTBR #MountTBRChallenge
#Stats #ReadingResolutions
Finished four books in January:
3 physical
1 audiobook
Ahead of schedule for my challenge of reading 38 books this year!
🎉🎉 STATS TIME! 🎉🎉
This is everyone's favorite part, right? I know it's mine.
Total books read: 7
2 novels and 5 comic TBs
Total pages read: 1,496
Final time: 19h 47m 20.95s
I'm officially tired 😴😴😴 Good night!
I started in April, and tried to remember what I read prior to then, so who knows how accurate this is? I am still shocked at this outcome, and am looking forward to 2018!
Thank you, Litsy and Littens! Without y'all, this would not have happened. Of that, I am certain.
My 2017 Stats:
82 total books
I'd give you the detailed breakdown but the numbers aren't adding up and it's after midnight so I'm tired. But I do know that 63% of these books were authored by women and 29% by POC. Sadly 30% were written by white men--far too high a number when I set out last January to make that number 0%. I think I'll set a more doable but low number for 2018.
Thank god for the #yearofthechunkster in 2018 bc my average is puny!
These are interesting to me & maybe to other Littens, too: year-end reading stats!
*I have this method of adjusting down for re-reads & kids‘ books to “count” less!

16 SFF
15 Classic Fiction
12 Children‘s/YA
21 Children‘s/YA SFF

Also finally wrote down my reading stats for the year.
Books read: 88
The Cat Who books: 22
Agatha Christie: 24
Non-fiction: 4
Literary fiction/popular fiction/crime etc: 38
Eeek, I got a fright when I saw how much comfort reading I had done this year! Hopefully 2018 will see more substantial titles - not that I of course regret the reading pleasure from all that light reading!
My August #readingstats. I'm pretty happy about how many books I have read in August, especially since I have started uni again.
I'm not so happy about how many books I have bought in August though. I need to learn to control myself a bit! 📚📚
#MonthlyStats for #July!
Read 4 books this month (planning to finish Final Girls tonight...)
I really just wanted to showcase that I read It! #lenghtylit
End of month summary. I actually thought I had read more than this, what with readathons and all. But July has passed so quickly! I've read some really good books though, and my "Best of" list contains an old favourite, two surprises, and one I expected to be great. (Can you guess which is which?)
Does anyone else love the Goodreads stats 😊looking at the publication year I really to work on reading more classics. I set my reading goal this year at 56 better get reading 📖 📖
I finally had some time to sit down and calculate my 2016 reading statistics. I'm happy to say that I was happy that I managed to hit my two goals - 33% by writers of color and 50% by women! I had a bunch of favorites, but these three were at the top of my lists. I was surprised looking back that 2016 was also the year that I read all of Saga, so I had to mention that, too!
