The books I have lined up for #jumpstartsummer holiday weekend

I have four books on my TBR list for the holiday weekend. I will finish Play Along today. I started Nocticadia and haven't been able to get into it. Therefore, after I try again, I might put it aside for another time. Then, I will hopefully get the other two books read over the weekend.

Let‘s catch up on some reading shall we? 🥰 #JumpStartSummer @TheSpineView My goal is to read: My Book Club Book, catch up on my Les Mes chapters, catch up on the count of monte cristo, read my Nancy Drew book, and catch up on Way of the kings. It‘s a lot, but can hopefully make it happen.

Today was a weird and stormy day until just before dark when we suddenly had dazzling sunshine.

Concentration was better today so made some good progress on my shelves. We have a 3 day weekend coming up- wishing I had taken tomorrow off too.

Update: Daisy is exhausted by me and my BS. She wants to know what I am thinking pulling out 6 months worth of books for a 3 day weekend. She gives up.

I pulled out a ridiculous stack of books- taller than my cat- for #JumpStartSummer with @TheSpineView this weekend. I know I won‘t get to all of these, but I‘m hoping to read at least 6 books. (I‘m in the middle of a lot of these so that‘s not as crazy as it sounds.)

Not much reading the past two days. Yesterday involved many tech support calls but we finally have internet again! Today was a tough physical therapy session that left my head cloudy. Must regroup tomorrow and finish some of these books! Picture is of me collapsed in a chair that my husband and kids thought was hilarious.

#ShelfSweeper Day 19 thanks @Andrew65 and @Tove_Reads for encouraging us to clear off our shelves this month! Not sure how it‘s the 19th already but here we are. Just need to get through a few more days of work then a glorious three day weekend with no plans!

It was a gorgeous day here with the bluest of blue skies. Perfect for reading outside.

#ShelfSweeper Day 18 was kind of a bust. I just didn‘t have any concentration for reading. Did get out for yummy Thai food and had some good conversations with the the kids. Enough of the real world though. Back to my books tomorrow.

#Rushathon Day 17. I didn‘t think there would be time for reading today but I actually fit in some porch time and a trip to the library. I also had 90 minutes of solo driving for my audiobook. Home now trying to squeeze more reading in while waiting up for my kiddo to get home from prom. Still no internet. Would be a shame if it doesn‘t come back and I had to call in sick to work Monday.

We were lucky to keep our power during an intense storm earlier, but our internet has been out for hours. That made for some great reading and napping. I was about to head to bed but the cat sat in my lap so better read a bit more.

My son was home sick and my daughter had to be picked up early so today was a bit choppy. I did get to start two books that have been on my list for ages - Chesapeake Requiem and Entitlement. It‘s slow going on a Muddied Murder because it‘s on my kindle and the last thing I‘ve wanted to do after work lately is look at another screen.

These days just blur together, but I have been making progress on my reads. I should finish Kitty Karr and Our Lady of the Nile tomorrow. Time for bed! #ShelfSweeper

I hate to say it but this reading instead of scrolling thing is helpful. My screen time was down 12% last week and I slept better. Reading on the go today thanks to kindle and audiobooks. #ShelfSweeper

A great day 11 for #ShelfSweeper

I spent most of the day outside alternating between Kitty Karr while gardening and Murder Most Royal while resting. Then switched to Our Lady of the Nile when I came in. My lovely family respected my wishes for a low key Mother‘s Day. They‘re finally learning that no, I really don‘t want to go out to eat. I want to wander in my yard, eat cereal, and read books.

Not much reading time today. I was consumed with a tricky work task, and then went straight to my daughter‘s last lacrosse game for the year. I just got in from walking my usual mile and now it‘s bedtime. I plan on making up for it this weekend! #ShelfSweeper #4Elisabeth #BirthdayReadathon

I decided to pause The Thorn Birds a bit since I have a few books due at the library. Started towards my goal of reading 100 pages a day for #BirthdayReadathon but not sure how I did. Ended up falling asleep on the evil couch in my sunroom so any adding will have to wait until tomorrow.

I‘m so glad to be home again. There‘s a weird phenomenon in my house today where no matter how much I unpack there‘s still so much stuff on my floor. Despite that I made progress on all my books, and will hopefully finish No Nest For The Wicket tomorrow. #ShelfSweeper #4Elisabeth

My goal for the #BirthdayReadathon is to read 100 physical pages a day. My reading has jumped thanks to #ShelfSweeper but now I need to get back in the habit of sitting quietly and reading physical books instead of rushing around catching slivers of time for audiobooks and kindle.

#ShelfSweeper Day 5: I finished two books today thanks to my kindle and audiobooks. That means I got to start two new books! I chose The Thorn Birds which I started a re-read of in 2023! Time to finish that up! I also chose The Parrot and the Igloo. It‘s my #Bookspin this month and has also one of the 52 nonfiction books I marked to read this year.

#ShelfSweeper Day 4- just a bit of time to read this morning. I caught up on The Mill on the Floss chapter a day and almost finished Fixing to Die. It‘s my Dad‘s birthday so we all went to a baseball game which was so much fun.

My daughter and I are making a quick trip to Massachusetts for my Dad‘s birthday party. We finished The Cruelest Month in the car. That‘s a re-read for me but I had it on my April TBR. Then we started The Summer I Turned Pretty which my daughter asked me to listen to last summer. No progress on my kindle or physical books yet, but hoping to get an hour in before bed. #ShelfSweeper

I was in virtual meetings most of the day today. It was like a weird 2020 flashback. I made just a little bit of progress on my books. Long drive tomorrow- I should be able to finish my audiobook and even start a new one. #ShelfSweeper

I can‘t tell if I‘m too young or too old to work out discord 🤣 anyways I‘m trying dammit. And hopefully I can finally catch up my Litsy feed this weekend. I‘ve been sucked down the doom scroll brain rot elsewhere lately 😵‍💫

I wanted to get a lot of reading done this weekend at my daughter‘s tournament but it didn‘t work out that way. I did manage to finish two books though: The Clue of the Tapping Heels and Show Don‘t Tell by Curtis Sittenfeld. I‘m glad there‘s still one weekend left in the month to hopefully get back on track. Playing caught up today. I was under the weather for a few days. When to the doctor yesterday and got some medication. Not back to 100% but feeling better.
